Drinking the Westbrook Gose...it looks like OJ...juicy, salty, and sour...so damn good.

ETA: if there's a better Gose, I'd like to try it. This is ####### fantastic...I thought Rapp's Gose was on par, but I was mistaken. Rapp makes a damn fine Gose, but Westbrook's is on another level.

Not at all a traditional German Gose, but best new style gose. I think the Anderson Valley Gose and Blood Orange Gose are close but Westbrook still better. They did a collab with Stillwater (who Westbrook contract brews for) called Gose Gone Wild that is really something

But if he sells, the recipes of all the flagship beers go with it...no way they hand over the keys to Jai Alai.This won't happen.

Sure he will lose the recipes, that doesn't stop him with creating new ones though. Tastes evolve over time also. If they come up with an offer he can't refuse, he probably selling unless he is thinking of expanding outside of the Florida market.

I always think it's kinda funny how many beer aficionados scoff at the idea of their favorite breweries being bought out by the big boys, yet similarly complain about rising beer prices. They want their favorite places to keep brewing their favorite stuff at the same relatively low prices. Consolidation is huge in the beer industry just as it is in, say, banking. The big fish know they can't carve out a niche in the market themselves, but they can do so by purchasing smaller companies with a strong market presence. They may have some supply chain changes, but they'd be foolish to screw with a brewery's product. Why buy a place like Goose Island if you're just gonna #### up all their beers? Makes no sense.

have tried the youngs choc stout and Samuel smith choc stout and they don't compare to the yeti for me.

I paid $16.99 for Hopslam last night. Its unbelievable what the hype has done for this beer over the last 5 years. I'll always get my one six-pack each winter, but with all the great double ipas on the shelves these days its hard to justify that price.

Also, Ballast Point is now in Wisconsin - great news. I've had the Sculpin, wondering what else is worth trying? There were 5 or 6 different bombers and probably 4 different sixpack varieties on the shelves at my local yesterday.

I don't follow. I'm pretty sure the cheapest I've ever seen it is $11.99 when it was first introduced ~2007. All of Bell's seasonal big beers are in the $14-16 range when I see them, so that price seems right in line to me.

Now in the VA/DC Metro it regularly runs $25-30/six pack due to scarcity and hype. That's worthy of my scorn.

And it still flies off the shelves in this area. I got an e-mail from my go-to beer place (in a residential area not accessible to most at work) on Monday morning saying they have 11 cases, selling six-packs for $20, one per customer. They sold out in about an hour.

I've heard of places selling for up to $22 around here. I found it for $17.50 and was happy. They had a whole massive display of it at Wegmans for that price.
