In public--all the time.

At home 50/50--if I am here alone, no. If I am about to cook dinner, yes. If it is during a football game and I run down the hall during a commercial, no.

Gotta love these "what's normal?" threads. Gets me thinking about what I previously answered for a good 4-5 days afterwards. I ALWAYS wash - with soap and water - at work. I don't know why, I just do. I very rarely wash after going at home. Again, don't know why I don't, just don't. I was at a few bars in Tempe tonight and found that I felt "safer" just going and not washing. I'd rather just not touch the faucets. I don't pee on myself.

oh yeah... especially being in the culinary world

Im glad that you say this, the thought of those in the culinary world that don't is not a good thought.

I still suspect that this is not a universally shared activity even for those who hold themselves in high esteem in the kitchen.
It's funny, I wash my hands with soap 100% of the time before I empty the dishwasher or before and while I am cooking for others.

Cooking for myself only? Rarely. Before I eat? Rarely. Not even a rinse.

In a public bathroom yes. At home, only if my hands feel dirty.
The public bathroom faucets and doors are far, far more gross than you holding your junk for a few seconds. It's proven to be so. I do the opposite. Don't touch a thing at the public places. Wash hands at home.
This is me depending on the washroom. Most public ones are fine but an arena washroom for example, for sure my penis is cleaner than those faucets. And a lot of them are hand dryers only (no paper towel).

it is disgusting on how many men dont wash their hands after peeing. my god at least turn on the water and put them under for 1-2 seconds.
what is so gross about it? Not saying it's not, but this thread has me thinking it.

If no pee touches your hands, are you saying we should be washing our hands simply because we touched our ****?

Do you wash your hands after scratching an itch on your nose? Does the average **** have more germs than the average nose?

I'm being serious with these questions by the way.

I understand it's not as gross as we perceive it to be. But, when I'm at my local cardroom and see some guy come into the restroom, pee, and leave without washing his hands I just hope he's not at my table.
