World Champion Steeler fans (2 Viewers)

I guess I'll leave it as...We'll see.

We'll see who's ready for the playoffs and who isn't.

1st things 1st though, we have 2 more games to win...
the Browns may just put a nix in your playoff plans Jr...
     Having a major earthquake sucked down Heinz Field is more likely.

We own the Cleveland Clowns & they know it!

Steelers Rule!

:towelwave: :towelwave: :towelwave: :towelwave:
HEY ! Haven't seen you around in a while, bro... what's going on?
Workin' my ### off, playin' the ff, you know, usual stuff. We gonna get it together in 2006 to face off in fantasy football? How about a re-draft league, $200 entry, winner take all?
I'll keep it in mind. I'd have to ditch one of my other leagues, I hate to spread myself thin in money leagues, but I may do that anyway depending on how some league votes go on some big issues. Keep me posted.

The Browns do seem to be playing with heart and also appear to be headed in the right direction. I'll tell you one thing, the Steelers better not be looking past this game or they're going to get their heads handed to them.

Oh, wait a minute. The Steelers have the Lions next week. No chance they'll be looking past this one. :D
I really don't know if the Browns are headed in the right direction.Butch Davis was absolutely crucified in the press and the fans eventually turned on him too. It was BAD in this town. What scares me about that is the last time I saw the media attack like that was when Bill Belichick was the coach.

The Belichick experience really made a major impression on me. Here is a coach who is probably going to go down as the greatest coach in NFL history and the media not only failed to recognize it but tried to personally destroy the man. And why? Because he didn't get along with the media. It is completely inexcusable. I dismiss the notion that "he needed seasoning". So you try to destroy the guy? That is how you season him? BS.

That is where the media's credibility completely went out the window for me forever. I can no longer trust the media to ever represent a story fairly without an agenda. Anyone who has any respect for the media I also do not trust. They are scumbags. They exist to cause trouble.

When you objectively look at Butch Davis, you see a lot of similarities with Belichick.

1. He came from a pedigree of success elsewhere. He helped rebuild the Miami Hurricanes.

2. He did things in a very unorthodox way.

3. He angered the media.

I am wary that Butch Davis will just wind up somewhere else, he will do things his way and he will succeed in a huge way.

On the other hand, I also fear that Romeo Crennel is akin to Bud Carson. Both were old defensive co-ordinators who had been passed by for head coaching gigs. The problem for Carson was that he was hired because the priority was to not have a "control-freak" for a coach. I don't understand why that is a priority. A lot of super bowl winning head coaches have been control freaks. Jimmy Johnson was one. Mike Holmgren had to have things his way and left to gain more power in Seattle. You WANT aggressive people. In the end, Bud Carson had no authority as head coach of the Browns and lost the respect of his players. I wonder if that is Crennel's fate. That is my experience.

Because you disagree with a couple of sportswriters in Cleveland, Ohio, you lump everyone into one category?

As a former member of that "media" you speak so fondly of...that's absolute crap.

As much as I want to believe, I don't think the Steelers stand a prayer of beating NE or Indy at this point. I think they could beat SD, Cin, and Den, but any of those teams could just as easily beat PIT. Don't really like either route, although I would like to go into Cinci and derail their season to shutup all the Johnny-come-lately fans that are chest thumping these days.

Right now it looks like the Steelers will play the Bengals. Looking forward to the rematch. :towelwave:

I think that, unlike last year, the Steelers are peaking at the right time and are a little under the radar. The way the defense is playing, I think they have a shot to beat anybody anywhere. Not predicting that they'll go all the way, but it wouldn't surprise me.PS Merry Christmas!

No offense, because I do like the Steelers and all (about my 5th favorite team), but the :towelwave: is quickly becoming the most tired schtick on the boards. Then again, I'd be doing the same thing if there was a Mile High Salute smiley. But alas, there is not. :(

Last year the Steelers showed some gaps in the armor at the end of the season. Big Ben needs to stay healthy if they have a shot in the playoffs this season. Bring on the Bengals! :football: :towelwave:

Go Broncos! Beat the Bolts!

:towelwave: :towelwave: :towelwave:

Bring on the Pats or Bungholes!!!
I thought we were rooting for SD to win?If SD wins, the Steelers are in no matter what.

If Denver wins (which is looking probable), the Steelers must beat the Lions.

Do I have this mixed up?

a SD win last night would have put PIT in. That didn't happen, so PIT either needs to beat DET today, or CIN needs to beat KC for the Steelers to get in.

I think/hope it will be a good game. These 2 teams have a sort of interesting history against each other, going back to those consecutive losses the Colts suffered in the 70s playoff games. And of course the 95 playoff classic.I'm from PA and like PIT, but......die you dogs....

Patriots fan checking in here - GO STEELERS! If there is another team and coach I respect in the league, it's the Stillers and Cowher. Blue collar, tough, aggressive, what football teams should be. If the Patriots lose, I'm pulling for the 6th seed to go the distance.GG

When was the last time the Colts were favored against the Steelers in the playoffs.NEVER!!! Even with the great Colts teams in the late 70's, with Bert Jones, Roger Carr, and Lydell Mitchell, because the Steeler teams were better. That worries me some, but hey, I love it. I love watching Mr. Chin squirm when he knows he's in over his head.

You're going to need more than terrible towels to top this Colts team! The dome will be louder than any other time this year. The Stillers proved they couldn't handle the noise and it will only be worse. Now, tell me they've been working on their hand signals and yada yada yada...We'll send them out looking more dazed and confused than the Moday night game!Colts 27Stillers 20 with a garbage TD from Randle El to Rothlisbugger to Bettis to Miller flea flicker.

Don't get too confident there. The Steelers were playing with a rusty Ben Roethlisberger and rookie Trai Essex starting at left tackle. Marvel Smith is back and Ben is looking as sharp as ever. Noise or no noise, this is a much better Steeler team than you saw in November.
