WR CeeDee Lamb, DAL (3 Viewers)

CeeDee Lamb (ankle) was limited for Thursday's practice.

Lamb reportedly sprained his ankle in practice Wednesday, hence his limited availability the last two days. It's unclear whether it's considered a serious sprain that could actually keep him out of Sunday's matchup against Denver. Michael Gallup may be forced into Dallas' starting lineup opposite Amari Cooper if Lamb is ruled out.

These practice ankles seem to be getting a lot of folks this year. NFL teams take no win for granted, but the cowboys proved they could handle my measly Vikings without Dak. Makes me worried they lean to the side of caution with Lamb. But who knows how serious it is. Sutton played on the exact same thing earlier this year. Could be nothing. Practice reports the next few days will be key.

I’d be worried if he was DNP today

Officially concerned and out of my lineup for Jacobs (for now).  :sadbanana:

Even if it's a mild/medium sprain, it makes a lot of sense for the Cowboys to shut him down this week against a depleted and down-trodden (AFC) Broncos team at home. And especially if Gallup is set to return. Gotta have this hoss healthy for the stretch run, if they are truly going to make some noise this year.

All I see is limited

 You saw dnp somewhere?
CEEDEE LAMBWR, DALLAS COWBOYS

CeeDee Lamb (ankle) did not participate in Thursday's practice.

Here's a change from earlier today when Mike McCarthy told reporters that Lamb would be limited. Don't go scrambling in panic just yet, but players relying on Lamb should certainly be thinking about pivots even harder than they were this morning. If Lamb does play against the Panthers he'll be ranked as a low-end WR1.

Too bad he plays the Broncos.

I'm thinking Wilson will be a good fill in if CeeDee can't go.

Totally agree. Was thinking of C. Wilson.

Not a peep from the fantasy community on this guy. Dak back. If CD and Gallup are out this would seem like a good spot against a Denver team that's slipping and minus V. Miller now.

NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reports CeeDee Lamb (ankle) is expected to play in Week 9 against the Broncos.

Lamb suffered the injury in practice earlier this week but it only forced him from one session. He closed the week with a limited practice on Friday. Pelissero added that Amari Cooper, who was questionable with a hamstring injury, will also play. With Cooper, Lamb, and Dak Prescott all active for this game, the Dallas offense looks set for a massive outing versus a Von Miller-less Denver defense. Lamb straddles the WR1/2 borderline with Cooper close behind him.

CeeDee Lamb caught 2-of-9 targets for 23 yards in the Cowboys' Week 9 loss to the Broncos.

Lamb's nine targets easily led the team, and his ankle didn't seem to pose a problem. Dak Prescott just missed him on some throws downfield, and the Cowboys as a whole simply laid an egg and appeared to gloss over the Broncos. Lamb will try to rebound next week as a WR1 next week against the Falcons.

CeeDee Lamb described his Week 11 injury as "a charley horse" that "kept really nagging."

Lamb didn't sound worried despite the injury pulling him off the field for a good portion of the second half of his Week 10 game versus the Falcons. While playing less than a full game, Lamb still managed to top 100 total yards and score twice. He didn't seem particularly worried when discussing the issue with reporters so we'll assume he's fully healthy unless the Cowboys' practice report indicates otherwise. Lamb is a locked-in WR1 versus the Cheifs this week.

CEEDEE LAMB WR, DALLAS COWBOYS

The Athletic's Bob Sturm said when Michael Gallup plays, CeeDee Lamb will operate as the Cowboys' primary slot receiver.

Sturm added "you will find no more lethal inside receiver in the NFL" than Lamb. "He is a mismatch nightmare against slot corners." We saw as much last week against Atlanta, when Lamb ran nearly 70 percent of his pass routes from the slot on his way to six receptions, 94 yards, and two touchdowns in Dallas' stampeding of the Falcons. Headed into that game, Lamb had run just 23 percent of his routes from the slot. Gallup, meanwhile, ran 86 percent of his routes from the outside in Week 10. More consistent slot usage should put Lamb in favorable matchups for as long as Gallup is healthy and in the Dallas lineup.

Week 11 fantasy stats: Behold the amount of ways Cowboys can crush you

Excerpt:

Here’s how the Cowboys split work between their wide receivers in Michael Gallup’s first game back off IR:

CeeDee Lamb: 33 routes, 21% target share, 31 air yards

Amari Cooper: 22 routes, 12% target share, 32 air yards

Michael Gallup: 21 routes, 15% target share, 57 air yards

It appears that Lamb isn’t going to lose an inch off his crucial role in Dallas. He was able to register a team-high 33 routes because he’s playing outside in two-receiver sets but moving inside when they go to 11 personnel. Lamb took 69.6 percent of his snaps from the slot.

It’s wheels up for CeeDee Lamb with that kind of deployment.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport said it "looks like" CeeDee Lamb (concussion) will miss the Cowboys' Week 12 game against the Raiders.

Lamb exited Dallas' Week 11 game against the Chiefs after slamming the back of his head against the turf on a Dak Prescott interception at the end of the first half. He was helped to the locker room and did not return. Lamb has almost no chance of clearing the NFL's concussion protocol before the Cowboys suit up for their Thanksgiving game against Vegas, leaving Dallas without its top two pass catchers (the unvaccinated Amari Cooper will miss the game with COVID-19). Michael Gallup is in good position to see double-digit targets against Vegas if Lamb is sidelined.

Cowboys vice president Stephen Jones said Monday that Lamb (concussion) is "doing really well" and will have a chance to play Thursday against the Raiders, Jon Machota of The Athletic reports.

Lamb sustained a concussion in Sunday's loss to the Chiefs but apparently improved overnight. While the receiver will have several steps to clear under the league's concussion protocol, he appears to be on the right track ahead of Thursday's matchup against Las Vegas. Since Amari Cooper (illness) will be unavailable against the Raiders, Michael Gallup and Cedrick Wilson would take on leading roles if Lamb doesn't clear the concussion protocol in time.

-------------------------------------------------

also this would help CeeDee

Cowboys vice president Stephen Jones said he expects LT Tyron Smith (ankle) to play in Week 12 against the Raiders, "barring some unforeseen setback."

There's always the chance that Smith does indeed suffer a setback or that the team decides he needs one final week of preparation before returning. Smith was unable to play in Week 11 and his Week 12 game falls on Thanksgiving, granting him just a few days between contests. For now, Smith projects to return to the lineup and give the team a boost in the trenches. He'll take the left tackle spot back from Terrence Steele when healthy.

So Rapport says no, but ownership says tracking and chance.  hmmmm
Interesting. Jesse Morse says 5 day minimum.

David Chao says 5 steps, some steps could take less than a day, so in theory, yes he could play.

The Cowboys need to school him on all versions of those words on the memory test: Person, woman, camera,...

CeeDee Lamb (concussion) remained sidelined for Tuesday's practice.

Lamb is still in the league's concussion protocol though he has reportedly participated in meetings inside Dallas' facilities, which usually wouldn't happen for players with lingering effects. He has 24 hours to be cleared or take a backseat to Cedrick Wilson, who ran 91% of his routes from the slot in place of Lamb on Sunday, and Noah Brown. Michael Gallup would be the biggest beneficiary in that scenario.

I’m watching NFL Network. They reported Lamb “did not practice Wednesday”.
I take that as they had an early practice with their game being tomorrow.

It would seem I that he’s in at least step 4 of the protocol then. Tomorrow he can do a simulation of a “full” practice, get cleared by the team physician, get cleared by the independent neuro, and be good to goooooo.

I read he's in step 5

I read he's in step 5
You’re right, I said at least step 4 because I wasn’t sure if his practice today would be limited with a full simulation necessary still. It looks like the other quotes from the staff indicate whatever today was they expected to suffice the necessary full practice so he’ll just be waiting on clearance from the docs now. Seems likely he plays.

Just got an alert from Sleeper that he wasn’t able to pass the final step of the concussion protocol and will be Out today.

Jay Glazer reports that Cowboys WR CeeDee Lamb didn't clear concussion protocol and won't play on Thanksgiving against the Raiders

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports CeeDee Lamb (concussion) is expected to play in Week 13 against the Saints.

Lamb missed the Cowboys' game on Thanksgiving because of the concussion. Dallas gets a  standard turnaround to their next game as they get the Saints on Thursday, so there was at least a chance that Lamb could have missed Week 13. As Schefter reports though, the young receiver should be sidelined for just one game. Both he and Amari Cooper, who is on the COVID list right now, should be back next week. At full strength once again, expect the Dallas offense to continue rolling versus New Orleans. Lamb will straddle the WR1/2 borderline in Week 13.

CeeDee Lamb (concussion) was a full participant in Monday's practice.

Lamb missed Week 12 because of the concussion but a Schefter report on Sunday noted that he was expected to play Week 13. All signs point to that being true and Lamb will return to a team missing Amari Cooper, who will remain on the COVID list through the Cowboys' Thursday matchup with the Saints. Securely in the WR1 chair for an elite passing attack, Lamb projects as a top-10 fantasy option at his position this week.

CeeDee Lamb (concussion) was a full participant in Tuesday's practice.

Lamb, practicing in full in back-to-back days, is expected to return to the lineup as a low-end WR1 on Thursday night. Although Michael Gallup will be available, both Amari Cooper (COVID) and Cedrick Wilson (ankle) are longshots to play. Dalton Schultz and Gallup should be upgraded if/when Cooper and Wilson are ruled out.

CeeDee Lamb caught 7-of-13 targets for 89 yards in the Cowboys' Week 13 win over the Saints.

Lamb had one of the plays of the night, breaking the ankles of Saints FS Malcolm Jenkins on a 25-yard bubble screen. He didn't find the end-zone this week but set up a Michael Gallup fade from inside the five-yard line. With the Cowboys limiting Amari Cooper's snaps, Lamb easily led Dallas in targets. This was a rebound game for Lamb, who missed Week 12 with a concussion and was held under 30 yards in two of the previous three games. Even with Cooper returning to a full-time role in Week 14, Lamb will be a borderline top-10 option for a matchup against Washington.

Love watching this guy. Never understood when people were down on him but depressed his value and allowed me to scoop him up cheap.

Talent + opportunity = STUD.

Almost had a sick one handed TD grab too.

Firmly in the 5-8 top WR range around but probably slightly under Allen/Diggs IMO. Like him better than Chase and TB receivers since he's firmly top dog in his offense with targets all over the field.

On a field full of top notch athletes he jumps out as someone who moves at a higher level than anyone else. Crazy good.

he's as good a talent as there is at the position.  I hated trading him away last year (package for Taylor so I'm not crying) but he's so fun to watch.  The only thing stopping him from being the top wide out is usage.

Probably good for Lamb as well.
Maybe.   Maybe not.   Carr is piling up yards and Lamb would have been the best WR by a mile in LV.  It would have been Waller and Lamb all game every game.

CeeDee Lamb caught 7-of-10 targets for 61 yards in Dallas' Week 14 win over Washington.

Lamb set a record for the most receptions (138) by a Cowboys player in his first two career seasons, moving past RB Herschel Walker’s previous record of 131. The former also recorded two carries for 15 yards from the backfield, exploding for a 10-yard run in the second half. Lamb's 10 targets were a team-high mark, giving him 23 in Dallas' last two games. He'll continue to rank as a low-end WR1 in Week 15 against the Giants.

Any Dallas fans have any idea why this guy has had so little production the second half of the year? Thought I had a top five dynasty receiver now he looks like he is fighting to be the 3rd or 4th best pass catcher on his own team. Anyone have any insight for the lack of production and targets recently?
