WR Michael Wilson, ARZ (2 Viewers)

Unreal really, especially in a week I'm seeing tons of incredible low scores.

I got a team, a good team, where he was my last resort as flex #2. I played Caleb, Swift, Rome, ARSB, Rashee, Mason Taylor, Balt D, and Riechard. With just Jeanty left to go, my last resort option, has accounted for 33% of my teams production.

Anyway my main takeaway is just how bad must Kyler Murray be?

Oh heck, no bump? Harrison is out with an appendectomy. Free WR1, for what it's worth.
@rockaction

Thank you so much for this post. He was getting no mention in the fbg material and projected for 10 pts. I snagged him off the wire in ibl and started. Probably will net a few wins over 6 donuts as Chase and Flacco were horrible starts for me.

Hey, I’m not being sarcastic when I say I’m glad it helped you out for IBL and that it struck me as enough of an unrecognized opportunity for me to post something. I posted on a lark, but sometimes a lot of truth is cloaked in confusion and humor. Brissett is playing good enough to support his receivers for real football and FF purposes and I had read somewhere that Wilson’s way of winning routes was conducive to having success with a guy who can finally throw him the ball with timing and over the defensive line instead of the right-left scramble of Kyler.

Sort of sad, but you must be this tall to ride this ride.
I would have gone 2-4 this week if I hadn't picked up Wilson and replaced Charbs. I had just fought back to 40-38 after being close to 15 games below .500. 46-38 has a much better ring than 42-42. Probably dug to big of a hole to make the championship playoff bracket, but at least I have an outside shot. Major props to you for pointing Wilson out as he wouldn't have been on my radar.

Lots of smaller-statured people are unaware Kyler proved you can be too small and that the guys we (at least me) once hated as inhumane or troglodytes were right about height and also (not QBs really unless you’re obese) weight.

Damn, that probably makes me feel better than just about anything I do or have done here. Tip of the cap to you and thanks for saying something. That’s awfully kind and thoughtful of you. Best of luck and I hope you take the longer-shot odds and win despite them. Peace, Bass.

3 catch 35 yard game coming. Smh
LMFAO.. You don't know this game at all do ya. .
Most likely bc you have ZERO chance to get him.
Your waaaaay off on this dumb prediction.
I'd bet my house against it.

Wilson is no scrub or a jag. He's a 2nd round pick BREAKING OUT in second season. Use to be 3 years for WRs..
It's taking him 2 years..

If Harrison sits again and Benson still out, He'll be getting an easy 7-9 targets..

Jags will worry abt McBride first. Leaving Wilson with the lesser coverage letting him to stay on a roll.

He'll get close 80 yards receiving this week and possible TD ,probably 6-7 receptions this week if anything..

Guaretee I'm much closer to stats he'll get..

Feels a little tad aggressive no? I am on Team Wilson in the Harrison thread. My gut said he would be the guy. For one week that was true. I actually roster him on 100% of my leagues. Before you start name calling just remember that football will always football. Hugs and kisses.

Its funnier bc Wilson is actually in his 3rd year. While he had more catches last year than his rookie year, he also had less yards. Its not as if this breakout was expected by literally anyone and it took injuries to both the starting QB and the "generational WR guy" to also get hurt for this guy to have a really really good game, along w the fact his QB threw the ball 57x.

100%. In a 57 pass attempt game everyone eats. The oceans parted for that performance. Hopefully he can be a 9 target guy in all game flows. I was joking about my above post predicting his next weeks stats line. I'm not dumb. At least my family doesn't think that. Ha ha. My point was, like we all know, football is always gonna football. Imo

Seems to be picking up where he left off...

He might drag some teams to the playoffs, but Harrison will be back and Benson is coming back and you would think they will try to run the ball. I don't see Brissett averaging 45 attempts the rest of the season.

I would sell high if I had him in dynasty. There will be a new qb for the Cardinals next year and I can't believe they are just going to wing it 45 times a game on average.

I dunno, dude may have some skills and not sure Harrison is that great, could see him stealing some targets

Maybe, but he averaged under 4 targets a week before Harrison had surgery. So bump him to six? That is wr3 territory. If I can sell him as a wr2 I am going to do it. Plus the Cardinals aren't going to give up on Harrison, he has top 10 draft capital.

Didn't say anything about them giving up on Harrison

But not giving up on him means continuing to feed him the ball. We will see what happens. This feels a little Rashod Bateman to me.

Chances MHJ misses next week too?

You think they're going to forcefeed MHJ from hereon out? I'm genuinely asking.

If I'm coaching and I see how the offense is running without Kyler and MHJ, then I'm wondering what heck those two add. Sure, MHJ starts (no way, Kyler, you go do your duty to the party call) but MHJ gets Wilson's old role and attention and we find ways to get Dortch on the field.

Good for this guy and it's a reminder that a situation and investment have sunk many a man's career. This guy was seriously going out and working his tail off to have a physically inadequate QB and the pedigreed one choke all the potential expressive footballing out of him.

Force the ball to Harrison? No they never really have, but he mostly likely isn't taking a backseat to Wilson either.

Draft capital matters, very few teams sign Matt Flynn and play the rookie 3rd round pick Russell Wilson.

They are going to have a new qb next year, Murray will be cut or traded and Brissett will be the back up again or go to another team. This has been the perfect storm, can't run the ball because they are on their 4th string rb, Harrison down, and throwing the ball a ton.

108 passes over the last two weeks
33 targets over the last two weeks
25 catches over the last two weeks
Over 300 yards the last two weeks

None of that is sustainable. Could he be having a breakout and round into a nice wr3 next year? Sure, but if you can sell him as a wr2 or more you probably should. This gives me Drew Bennett, Rashod Batemon, Doug Baldwin vibes. In redraft just enjoy the ride.

Hey, I got something for you, are you cool with it and are you ready?

eta* that felt good. i worked for two hours to get that dude information about the decrease in performance after an ACL reconstruction. Dude was nasty and said it only counted for first-round picks. People like that should not be here.

FFH, you can unlike that if you don't want to be involved.

My fault. Sorry I stepped in the middle of it. I can delete it if you like.

Fantasy football is a weird hobby. As a Harrison I owner that picked up Wilson, I really don't care who does better when both are active as long as one is clearly the guy. When both are healthy my fear is neither will be playable. Who knows how this unfolds. Hell it's week 13 and at 3-8 maybe they just keep Harrison out for rest of year. News has been quiet on his recovery.

huh? you were getting ripped one day by that cat. i just sat there like, "he's so wrong and doesn't know. i'll just watch it play out."

you didn't get in the middle of anything.

i'm just sitting there thinking those who know the least sure do the most talking.

no, me and this guy aren't arguing. don't sweat it. i'm talking about something totally unrelated. do you remember arguing with a dude a little over a month ago about snap counts and running backs especially regarding Emari Demercado and Trey Benson?

Vaguely, I argue with people on here. I have my opinions and try to show people why I have them. It rarely works, but here we are. I only remember a handful of the people behind the arguments. For whatever reason that one doesn't stick out, probably because Benson instantly got hurt after Connors and we never found out the answer.

Ya. I get it buddy. My focus branched off when I reread the thread and saw my posts from 2023. Gave me this wonderful Marty Mcfly feeling.

I love doing that. My favorite one is when I say after Denver's big playoff win against Pittsburgh in 2012, the year of the Tebow, that Tim Tebow is better than Matt Ryan in terms of W/L which shows that I was drinking myself blind and stupid back then.

Yeah, well, maybe we ought to be a little less stubborn (gonna happen, very natural—and we're likely going to hold to our priors even when we're proven wrong) but we can do it in a better way and the unrepentant ones? well, I no longer care if people think that my objection to their awful behavior is the problem.

A) the dude is often wrong
B) i'm no saint. damn i can count the ways. but not letting that stuff fly. as long as i retain the privilege of posting, they'll be looking it up before insulting people.

I am sorry. I am missing something because I am completely lost.

Front page. it's not a corny chivalry thing. someone had it coming.

My fault. Sorry I stepped in the middle of it. I can delete it if you like.

no, me and this guy aren't arguing. don't sweat it. i'm talking about something totally unrelated. do you remember arguing with a dude a little over a month ago about snap counts and running backs especially regarding Emari Demercado and Trey Benson?

Vaguely, I argue with people on here. I have my opinions and try to show people why I have them. It rarely works, but here we are. I only remember a handful of the people behind the arguments. For whatever reason that one doesn't stick out, probably because Benson instantly got hurt after Connors and we never found out the answer.

I am starting to understand now. I have always enjoyed your posts even when I disagreed. I hope you toe the line well enough to continue to post here and continue to be you.

FWIW Matt Waldman favors Wilson over Harrison. Better all around skills than Harrison - if you want details listen to Waldman’s podcast. He also is not a Kyler Murray fan.
If nothing else it seems that Brissett has a much better rapport with Wilson than he ever did with Harrison

Or it's that Wilson is just better.
I haven't watched very many Cards games since Harrison has been in the league, but I did watch a bit yesterday and thought Wilson passed the eye test. My only real notable memory of Harrison this season was him dropping an insanely routine pass

Wilson has always impressed me even from his rookie season. He just hasn't been used or received the targets. Could be game plan, could be Kyler. Who knows but you can tell from the last two weeks he belongs and can be a solid NFL WR if he just gets the opportunity.

I've always been a pro Wilson guy, but also a pro Harrison guy. I figured Harrison was the alpha. Didn't think it until today, regarding Harrison, but maybe he just isn't that lead dog high target guy. Maybe he is the really good #2.

Michael Wilson looks the part of an alpha dog WR. Size, skill, technique. I remember from his rookie season he mentioned he models his game after Davante Adams. The biggest knock on Wilson was his injury history. I’ve always liked him as a receiver, but definitely faded him for his situation, one for having Kyler Murray at QB, and the other when the team spent a premium draft pick on Marvin Harrison Jr.

I still think MHJ’s return is bad news for Wilson as MHJ saw his targets increase from 6 to 10 to 12 under Brissett until his appendectomy. I don’t think Wilson is reduced to afterthought status like he was before, but Trey McBride will still get spammed with targets like always, and I think MHJ will be the next priority. Wilson will probably be more of a top 36 fantasy WR than a top 24 guy ROS once that happens. For now I’m going to ride the wave as long as I can.
