WR Rashee Rice, KC (9 Viewers)

After starting 3-0, I’m gonna lose this week with the Rice injury. And if he is out for a long time, might be the end if my season. drop off from him to my bench is huge
Losing 1 player on your roster is the end of your season?

If your season was over after losing one player you weren't going anywhere anyway.
I might be overreacting after a Philly loss and a fantasy loss.

But, the dropoff from Rice/Godwin to Godwin/McLaurin/Jamo is pretty significant. My RB2 is weak, too
Not might be overreacting. You are. Drop off from Rice to Williams is about 8 ppr points per game. If losing Rice kills your season you were extremely lucky to win your first 3 games anyway. Or you are extremely underestimating the rest of your team.

Oh, that was direct contact to the knee. He might have ducked an ACL injury. It might—might be an MCL. We will find out, but there's reason for optimism rather than shoveling dirt on graves just yet.

Suspended usually means they have to be away from the team/facilities.
IR usually means he gets facility access for rehab.

Could rehab away but would cost $. Unlikely that he can get his court dates moved up to fit his needs - it's not like he controls the courts. And if suspended, it's unpaid - may need the $ for the rehab costs and you know... whatever he's got bills for right now (including rent and lawyers). IR time is paid time.

Good opportunity for the league to apply the suspension while he’s out. Is that legal?
That would be BS. If he was worthy of suspension, and he was, it should have happened from week 1. Nope.
I agree with you, but I don’t know the rules regarding this.
Almost want to see it happen just to see the Chiefs conspiracy theorists lose their ####.
Doesn’t sound legal does it?

Doesn't sound criminal.

Not 100% but if he goes on IR then suspension is tacked on after off i thought. The wrinkle will be what if the suspension is for 2025 and he’s like on the PUP or something to start the season? I’m sure some writers are already researching it right now as soon as Rice got injured

Edit: or would they not put him on PUP if they know he’ll be suspended? Would think the doctors would somewhat control that type of designation

Sounds like a potential loop hole.

Worthy is not the answer. They need to go out and get someone like Amari or Adams.
Can they afford either of them? I think KC is pretty close to the cap.
Amari is super cheap as I recall. When there was the rumored Aiyuk trade with the Browns, it was pointed out that an acquiring team would only have to pay a small fraction of Cooper's salary due to his contract stucture, like really small.

As an owner of both in multiple leagues, I'm going to go sacrifice some chickens and goats to make this happen.

How about D Hop or Kirk? They need someone. Juju, Moore, Watson, Worthy are not the answer.
Hopkins is available for sure - read a blurb before todays games that TEN is actively shopping him.
If I recall correcty, Reid isn't a fan of Hopkins. Hopkins wanted to sign there before 2023, and KC wasn't interested at all.

Kirk I could maybe see, though I don't know that the Jags would want to part with him, despite the 0-4 start.

Its a shame that they share a division, because Davante Adams would be perfect, but I could never see the Raiders doing that.

Tee Higgins still wants out of Nati right? If the chiefs decide to trade for a WR why not him?
Because they probably don't wanna trade a 1st round pick, and sign a big extension, and the Bengals don't wanna help KC.

ETA: Delusional thinking or not, given their 1-3 start, but the Bengals are the only team that has proven they can beat Mahomes/Reid in the playoffs.

The most brutal injury to my teams this year will be this one. On a INT and Mahomes gets in the way and ruins Rice's season.

I was #5 overall in RTS and #20 in NFFC online and #25 in cutline all with Rice as great value picks (rounds 4,4,6)

good points but I'm not sure if they HAVE to sign a huge extension unless that's what Higgins wants but also, I have Iosivas and burton in various leagues so I need Higgins gone.

They get Hollywood Brown back for the playoffs. I don't think they believe they need to trade for a big time receiver. Worthy looking good. Kelce still able to step up when need be.

Doubt they trade for any big name guy like Cooper, Higgins, Hopkins, or Kirk.

He can absolutely get his court dates moved up - if his attorney negotiates a plea deal the court will move up his case.

Mahomes with a boneheaded play too. That wr room is worse than last years
Worst tackle attempt I’ve ever seen for sure. Just so misguided
The way he dove in there and lowered his head, it could have gone incredibly bad for the Chiefs season. Rice is bad enough but if Mahomes breaks his neck, season over.

It was an incredibly stupid play by a supposedly smart player.

Probably the least likely WR to be traded in the NFL. Just signed a huge extension, and is the #1 for a developing QB.

Keenan Allen would be much more likely, though obviously still very unlikely.

Why do people automatically assume the Chiefs can, or want to make a trade.
I think its mostly wish casting, and an acknowledgement that KC has an extremely rough WR group right now. Like maybe the as bad as anyone in the NFL.

On the other hand, KC traded up for Worthy, and signed Hollywood, so their actions made it clear they weren't happy with the guys thay had. Swapping out Worthy for Rice, and we are back to those guys they weren't happy with, and JuJu I guess.

He shouldn't even have been anywhere near that play. Throw the pick and walk off the field. As the face of the offense and the franchise, you can't do stuff like that.
You have to admire the gamer in him, but at the same time he had to make a better business decision there.
