Guys here in the FFA like to make pretty much everything really super complicated.

This is a pole.

If some one says "I would like you to meet my family" and he introduces me only to his wife, I think I would be looking around for a child some where.

FWIW, here is what Webster's says (it uses the plural "children" but I assume a single child also works)

========

Definition of family

a: the basic unit in society traditionally consisting of two parents rearing their children

b: spouse and children

If a married couple is eating lunch at a picnic table in a park, is that a family reunion? Family outing?

When you get married, you are officially related, part of each other's family. Your in-laws are now family. If you were to introduce your parents to someone, you wouldn't say "I'd like you to meet my family" But they are family. Just like your wife.

As the question is asked in the poll, yes, she is family.

However, when it’s just the two of us, I don’t introduce her as “this my lovely family,” which is reserved for when the kids are with us.

Country music singers

Have always been a real close family,
But lately some of my kinfolks
Have disowned a few others and me
I guess it's because
I kind of changed my direction
Lord I guess I went and broke their family tradition

They get on me and want to know Hank
Why do you drink?
Hank why do you roll smoke?
Why must you live out the songs that you wrote?
Over and over
Everybody makes my prediction
So if I get stoned, I'm just carrying on
An old family tradition

I am very proud
Of my daddy's name
All though his kind of music
And mine ain't exactly the same
Stop and think it over
Put yourself in my position
If I get stoned and sing all night long its a family tradition

Don't ask me,
Hank why do you drink?
Hank, why do you roll smoke?
Why must you live out the songs that you wrote?
If I'm down in a honky-tonk
And some ole slick's trying to give me friction
I'll say leave me alone
I'm singing all night long
It's a family tradition

Lord I have loved some ladies
And I have loved Jim Beam
And they both tried to kill me in 1973.
When that doctor asked me,
Son how did you get in this condition?
I said, hey sawbones,
I'm just carrying on an ole family tradition

So don't ask me,
Hank why do you drink?
Hank, why do roll smoke?
Why must you live out the songs that you wrote?
Stop and think it over,
Try and put yourself in my unique position
If I get stoned and sing all night long, its a family tradition!

Seems like Webster is wrong

Yes of course she is...but your use of "family" in the ######## won't move thread is a misnomer. You are a couple on the flight, if you drag the mouth breathers with you then you are a family.

alright would you brohans consider the old swcer as part of your family because i consider you part of my bramily and brohans from other mothrans take that to the bank brochachos
