3.04 Do You Realize? - The Flaming Lips

Saw them on the Eternal Sunchine Tour with Cake, Modest Mouse and De La Soul. Had never really heard them before and didn't know what they were about. Came out of there thinking they were either the greateest live band ever, or the worst. This song sounded outstanding live though.FTR, MM SUCKED that night. Barely acknowledged the audience, listless, no soul. Might've been during either his end days of drugging or the early days of sobering up. Saw them again since and they were much better, but it was a serious downer for the first time seeing them live.

My bad. Felt like rewatching The Third Man and thought I might be able to make it back before my pick.

Nonesense. Mission of Burma were the comeback of the decade. You can tell because Clint Connely didn't spend the 90's making crappy solo records under the name "Mission of Burma". Also, who can take a PM? I gotta step out for a minute.

if I can stop playing Fallout 3 long enough to do so.
better hurry. new vegas is coming out this summer!
Sadly, I am a cheap ### when it comes to games. I was late to the game on Fallout - I just got it about 3 weeks ago b/c it was on sale for $30. I don't think I'm 1/2 way through this, and there are still 2 expansion discs for the 360, aren't there? Already one of my favorite games that I've played though.

Haven't put much thought to the subject, so I'm not sure if either band is the Comeback Band of the Decade, but between the two, I'd take Burma.I can take a PM if you want.

i'm a latecomer to fallout as well. fantastic gaming experience. it's the first rpg i've played seriously since, uh, final fantasy 2? yeah i'm old :lmao: .

fallout 3 has lots of dlc (after you "finish" the game you should really download the "broken steel" expansion so you can keep playing). luckily my bf is ocd about this sort of thing and buys all of it the instant it becomes available.

oh and while i'm rambling i just want to point out that even though while i've had an fbg forums account for less than 72 hours, i've already managed to find someone to put on the ignore list. thanks, Anonymous Screenname!

Looking for a new game. Should I pick up Fallout 3? I've had my eye on it for a while, but part of my concern is that I haven't played the first two. Does that affect the experience at all?

Mass Effect 2 drops today, man. I'm going to pick it up in a hour and a half. It's going to be the business.Fallout and Fallout 2 are immaterial to Fallout 3. It's a standalone.

Screw games that don't come out on the PS3, man. My computer can barely handle Minesweeper. :nerd:

I liked Oblivion better, but I'm more into that genre. The post-apocalyptic Fallout 3 was interesting, but didn't seem to have as much depth.BioShock 2 comes out pretty soon. I would recommend getting BioShock (the original); you could probably find it cheap somewhere.

p.s. Sorry Ahrn

If you gamer nerds don't quit it I'm going to get my baseball nerd brethren to break out a BABIP and FIP conversation

Best game ever. I never played the first 2.Another dimension of nerdery. :nerd: :nerd:
Whenever I hear you guys talk about these games I feel like I'm seriously missing out, but I bought an Xbox and have tried playing Bioshock, Fallout 3, etc... I can't get into them for more than a few minutes before I start feeling like I'd rather be doing something else. I've decided to sell the thing as it's just collecting dust.

I can appreciate these games as landmarks in narrative design but I don't have the time or patience to play a 20+ hour game anymore. If I can fit a game of FIFA or a 5 lap race in, it's a pretty good session for me.

Exactly. I love the storytelling aspect but the time commitment is just overwhelming. There's no way I could ever see myself playing these things through to the end.

We need an obscure MLB player draft that riffs off the idea of the "Former pro athletes most of us wouldn't think about" thread.

I think they're a hoot, but you're probably better off without them.
