They're quite a different feel. FM is generally more bombastic while Pogues is more traditional and folksy. Love them both, though FMs later albums seem to have gotten away from their roots of Bridget playing the melody and lead with fiddle or whistle. Try also The Mahones. A Canadian Irish band with some more folky sounding stuff.
