2015 Stanley Cup Playoffs: All hail the Blackhawks, mudbutt (3 Viewers)

here are several reasons to abhor the broadcast whenever John Forslund is at the microphone.

Start off with his ludicrous catchphrases. When he is broadcasting a Carolina Hurricanes game and the Canes score a goal, Forslund makes like a cheerleader. "Hey, hey what do you say," is how Forslund punctuates the goal.

That phrase rates a 10 on the obnoxious scale and deserves a shaving cream pie in the face.

Then there is Forslund's overall insincerity. You get the feeling that Forslund is trying to show the world how much he cares about hockey. It's not believable. What comes across is that Forslund cares about Forslund.

He tries to sound authoritative in his broadcast, but he comes across like a substitute teacher who is trying to assert himself in a class full of juvenile delinquents. He is ineffective and a bad listen in any broadcast that he is assigned.

We don't blame Forslund. He is what he is. It's the individuals who hired him and actually think he is worth listening to that need to be taken out behind the woodshed and paddled
Only good thing about Forslund on the Canes broadcast is that he's NOT Tripp Tracy.

Bylsma was too stubborn. Never changed things up even after it stopped working. Not sure he has a rep for development either.

He won as a mid-season replacement. Results since then were always somewhat disappointing.
Was going to say that about Bylsma in a reply to DD. He admittedly kept Therien's system in tact when they won the cup. After he used his style/system it wasn't much but playoff exits.
He still beat Babcock on the line changes in games 6 and 7 in 2009, whether he was a mid-season replacement or not is incidental to that fact.
No doubt. I was going to ask you if that was the case in the series.

Can't handle this.

Rangers need to tighten up defensively. They're playing like they know they're overmatched...very jumpy.

I think Babcock is the best coach but not sure he's Scotty Bowman so the gap between him and #2 or the rest isn't huge.

I'm just not looking forward to Bylsma, DeBoer, or Boucher types. Maybe Richardson would be good for the kids and then get an upgrade in 2 or 3 years when the team is ready to contend.
Where is Boucher? I always liked that guy.
Toronto flew him in from Switzerland for a 2nd interview to be their head coach. Then they hired Babcock. Oops.

I don't think the Rags can afford to lose a game where they scored at least 4 goals. This is a really huge outcome for them IMO.

What about Hitchcock if he gets cut loose in St.Louis?

I don't see that happening, but I'd like to see him in Buffalo. Great coach imo.

I rememer Dan Boyle lost half a season or so when his skate fell out of his locker and cut a tendon in his hand or arm,

that may have when he was traded

Good call. Hitchcock isn't the guy you want if you are a contender, but if you are an up and comer team, he's your guy.

He's good until his players turn on him. He's hit the point in STL where the players are turning on him, thus it's time to go.

Hitchcock's name keeps coming up when there's a coaching vacancy and St.Louis was supposed to be the other finalist for Babcock. Another guy I like a lot is Paul MacLean. Do you think he's a fit for the Sabres?
