There are a couple of management teams out there that must be really relieved that the Kings are ready and willing to continue being the primary subject of ongoing mockery.

As if this NBA free agency period won't be crazy enough with $94 million cap, notable players are discussing the possibility of teaming up.
This is nothing but good news for my Bucks. I was worried about taking on a raw 19 year old project, but now I'm relieved to find out we've drafted a 24 yr old finished product, ready for the starting lineup!
This is the most consistently well-titled thread on the board.Great thread title to start with Cappy.
What were the previous years' titles? I just stumbled in here by accident (I was actually click-baited by my curiosity of WTF did this mean??)This is the most consistently well-titled thread on the board.
I'm sure Pop would figure it out, but how would having Durant and Kawhi work?Durant to meet with thunder, Warriors, Spurs, Celtics, and heat.
"Knicks coaches love poon more than wins" is one of my all-time favorites.Shutout said:What were the previous years' titles? I just stumbled in here by accident (I was actually click-baited by my curiosity of WTF did this mean??)

Free trip to Miami.I get the rationale for the Thunder, Warriors, and Spurs. I don't really get the Celtics, what is the attraction there? For the Heat, I get that they have a good team, but it would seem odd for him to seem to so clearly follow Lebron's path.
The Celtics are an up and coming team and they East sucks, if Durant is thinking like Lebron at all then he just wants a title. So for the next 2 or 3 years he has 1 real series to win and then he is in the finals. I think the Heat are a long shot.I get the rationale for the Thunder, Warriors, and Spurs. I don't really get the Celtics, what is the attraction there? For the Heat, I get that they have a good team, but it would seem odd for him to seem to so clearly follow Lebron's path.
Honest question here, if he is in fact 24, was he even eligible to be drafted? I think international players are automatically eligible by the time they are 21 by the draft or something. If that is the case, he was draft eligible 3 years ago and he should currently be a free agent for the Kings to sign to a 40 million dollar deal.mr. furley said:

word is the Bucks tried signing him to a $100mm deal but Sternsilver shut them down over threats drinks at the BorgataHonest question here, if he is in fact 24, was he even eligible to be drafted? They would have to jettison Paul or Griffin to make it work. And then he is in a not better situation than he currently is in.Durant also meeting with the clippers. Which is actually very interesting.
Yu have to declare yourself draft eligible by filing with the league. A guy on my mens team did it like 10 years ago.Honest question here, if he is in fact 24, was he even eligible to be drafted? That's kinda sorta true. For international players, once you turn 23 (I looked it up after my last post) you are automatically draft eligible. So, if Maker is actually 24, he was draft eligible last draft and he is technically a free agent.Yu have to declare yourself draft eligible by filing with the league. A guy on my mens team did it like 10 years ago.
If they jettison Griffin, the core would be Paul, Redick, Durant, Jordan. IMO that is at least equal to a core of Westbrook, Oladipo, Durant, Adams, if not better. I know Westbrook is considered a better player than Paul these days, but Paul's style is actually a better fit for Durant IMO. And it gets him to LA, if he prefers that to OKC.They would have to jettison Paul or Griffin to make it work. And then he is in a not better situation than he currently is in.
The Buckos needed some veteran leaderships so Maker is the best of both worlds take that to birth certificate bank :swc:That's kinda sorta true. I have to imagine the Butts knew about this prior to drafting himmr. furley said:
Haven't you Lakers fans said that for years? And yet you NEVER land big free agents. I think we established years ago that Shaq is the last big one, and that was last century. Unless you want to consider Ron Artest a "big" free agent signing.Define "big". Because I'm fairly certainly LA is going to land a couple of big FA's this and next off season.
can you become a FA if you never declared for the draft? That's kinda sorta true. For international players, once you turn 23 (I looked it up after my last post) you are automatically draft eligible. So, if Maker is actually 24, he was draft eligible last draft and he is technically a free agent.
Plan B is appropriate because the whole team should be abortedI* am going to nerd out here for a minute. I have 2 plans of which I hope Orlando goes this off-season.
*Not perfect when it comes to cap rules, formatting, or evaluating talent.
Plan A
- Sign best SF that you can to the max (100/4) of either Parsons, Batum, or Barnes. If that fails, sign Bazemore to (80/4).
- Match max offer of (100/4) that is going to come for Evan Fournier.
C- Vucevic(11.75)/Smith(5.16)/Dedmond (1.2)
Would need to wait a year to get a decent defensive backup C. However, I think Ibaka will steal some minutes at C alongside Gordon at the 4.
PF- Ibaka (12.5)/Gordon(4.35)/Zimmerman (.75)
Can sign Ibaka to a max next year and barely dip into the tax. I don’t think Ibaka is good enough to be a 1 or 2 option on a championship team so I hope he can play C in the new NBA. I believe Aaron Gordon is the future at 4. Orlando would need to find minute for him if they signed Parsons and sent him to the bench.
SF- Parsons (22.2)/Marble (.98)
Listen, its not ideal. I know. But you’re Orlando and James/Durant are a pipe dream this year (obviously) and next year. Might as well sign the best SF now and see what he can do with Ibaka and Fournier.
SG- Fournier (22.2)/Hezonja (3.91)/Watson (5)
The more I read, the more certain I am somebody is offering the max to Fournier. Pretty smart move by Fournier to turn down (32/4) last off season. Worst part of this plan is that they take away minutes from Hezonja.
PG- Payton (2.61)/Foye(2.5)/Napier(1.35)
Ok I lied. The worst part about this plan is not signing a capable backup PG to challenge Elf. It is time to make a decision on Payton and I would greatly appreciate any competition to challenge him.
I will post Plan B if anybody cares or I will just PM to Cappy so he does not mention me in the title.
You are probably correct. Get Barnes. Doesn't matter, Hezonja/Gordon would play majority of SF minutes in my fantasy world. The whole point is to be liquid for Curry. (Not a euphemism...yet.)Jeff green is getting more than 16/2
Pretty simple...they are a 48 win team with a very young nucleus and the assets (those Nets picks have the potential to be the #1 pick in the draft two years in a row) and cap space to land another star or two (if Durant went there they immediately become a destination...just like Cleveland did with Lebron)...they play in the East and if they added Durant and another star they would be right there with the Cavs...they have a Coach who is highly regarded...if he goes to the C's he would be in a situation where he could not be accused of taking an easy path to a championship...it is a storied franchise with a rabid fan-base...also, I believe he has a very good relationship with Ainge dating back to his college days...all that being said I don't think the C's are one of the favorites here but I think when you look at the big picture it is easy to see why he has made their list...I get the rationale for the Thunder, Warriors, and Spurs. I don't really get the Celtics, what is the attraction there? For the Heat, I get that they have a good team, but it would seem odd for him to seem to so clearly follow Lebron's path.
You talking Seth? You are probably correct. Get Barnes. Doesn't matter, Hezonja/Gordon would play majority of SF minutes in my fantasy world. The whole point is to be liquid for Curry. (Not a euphemism...yet.)
Is Fournier really getting this kind of money? I just can't believe that.Plan B
The entire premise here would be Orlando would have enough to offer 2 max guys in 2017 just by trading Vucevic/backup C.
- Sign the best backup C for roughly $22/2 years. (Aldrich, Zeller, Hibbert or Plumlee)
- Sign the best backup PG for roughly $22/2 years. (Jennings/Williams/Chalmers)
- Give max offer to Fournier (128/5).
- Sign Jeff Green/Moute/Barnes for 16/2.
Vucevic (11.75)/Aldrich(11)/Dedmond(1.215)
Aldrich is the best defensive C I think you could sign for under $12 million. He can pass as well, and next season we could trade Vucevic, reasonable contract, to open up 2 max slots in 2017.
Ibaka(12.5)/Smith(5)Zimmerman(1.25)
This is the plan I prefer so I believe most of the time Gordon should be playing the 4 as much as Ibaka with Green and Hezonja getting a lot of SF minutes. This also frees up minutes for Zimmerman to get some minutes. Probably not a good thing, though.
Gordon(4.35)/Green(8)/Marble(0.98)
Might as well see what Gordon can do at the 3. Certainly athletic enough, just does not have the shot necessary. Green brings some experience to the spot and will have less than half guaranteed in 2nd year so you can move him easily if you can get two max guys.
Fournier(22.2)/Hezonja(3.91)/Watson(5)
Again, matching Fournier but giving him a 5th year. I cannot believe he is getting the max, but I think he is. Have to pay him. (Plan C was to let Fournier walk and let Hezonja start but I couldn’t pull myself away from his highlight reel to write it up)
Payton(2.61)/Jennings(11)/Napier(1.35)
I think Jennings can help them get to the playoffs this year, while pushing Elf. Look at the available PG’s after Conley. Delly is going to get $12/year. Make Jennings contract easy to move again in 2017 offseason like Green.
I apologize if you had to read this on your phone. Don't FBG and drive.
Yung Curry is UFA this year. You are probably correct. Get Barnes. Doesn't matter, Hezonja/Gordon would play majority of SF minutes in my fantasy world. The whole point is to be liquid for Curry. (Not a euphemism...yet.)
Foye can't play PG, especially now that he can't guard anybody. They would be much better off signing the best D-League PG or some capable guy from overseas.I* am going to nerd out here for a minute. I have 2 plans of which I hope Orlando goes this off-season.

Yeah, because the NBA declares all graduating college seniors (I haven't looked to see if that is only people with 4 years of eligibility used up or just seniors) and all 23 year old international players for them, they don't have to do any paperwork. You'll get guys everynow and then from overseas that were prospects in their early 20s and develop into NBA talent later in life and sign with some team.can you become a FA if you never declared for the draft?
Maybe Dell comes out of retirement if the price is right.Yung Curry is UFA this year.
Don't see Lin coming to the Sixers. He needs the ball and I'd imagine they want Simmons to have it a lot also. Doesn't seem compatible.Predictions:
Durant - OKC
Whiteside - LAL
Derozan - Toronto
Parsons - Rockets
Dirk - Mavs
D. Williams - Memphis
Conley - Spurs
Howard - Knicks
Lin - Sixers
Bizmack - Toronto
Pau - Warriors
Might be CJ Watson who is already on the roster.Foye can't play PG, especially now that he can't guard anybody. They would be much better off signing the best D-League PG or some capable guy from overseas.
No, I am pretty sure it's going to be LeBron and Curry teaming up.Yung Curry is UFA this year.
I wonder if the Wizards would have gotten a meeting if they had just stayed about the same last season. I liked their roster better than the Celtics last year but I think Boston had a superior coach. Surprised KD isn't going to even talk to the Wiz.Unless Boston has a big trade or two lined up, and based on the way they struck out during the last two drafts on that front a trade doesn't seem likely, they don't present anywhere close to the opportunity to win a title that the top 3 teams in the West do. It's interesting to me that BOS even got a meeting.
