Revis has become a slouch giving little effort out there. The cushion he gives to WRs is bad enough, but the lack of effort on tackling at times is atrocious. What will he blame this week? Maybe he had too much starch in his Sat night meal.
Totally agree. I used to think Revis would eventually make a smooth transition to safety for a year or 2 at the end. But with the way he's tackling now? No freaking chance.Revis has become a slouch giving little effort out there. The cushion he gives to WRs is bad enough, but the lack of effort on tackling at times is atrocious. What will he blame this week? Maybe he had too much starch in his Sat night meal.
He played well. Just didn't get stats.I know that very few people care about IDP, but anyone with Jets insight see the game yesterday and know what happened to Sheldon Richardson? Guy had strung together a handful of really good starts and then put up 0 yesterday. I didn't see anything about him on any injury report prior to the game. Did he get hurt or just have a bad game...?
TIA
I wonder if the Jets have buyer's remorse with Wilkerson. He wasn't even available to talk after the game. The Jets juswithnd the absolute best way to lo se games. Offsides on a kickoff? If the season wasn't over a month ago I'm pretty sure I would have thrown the remote through the glass of my 75 gallon aquarium after that one. But as it stands, I obviously don't care.
Some more absolutely abysmal throws by Fitzpatrick and Bowles has already said he's starting again next week.
And oh yeah....apparently Muhammad Wilkerson is now a discipline problem.
The other coach too. Big moron team battle next Sunday between the Rams and Jets. Each team's fans will be rooting for the starting QB to exit the game with an injury. Nothing too serious. I mean, we are not horrible people here. It's over for 2016. You start Petty for the 1st half of games and Hackenberg in the 2nd hastathe rest of the year and find out if you have an NFL QB. Bowles is too dumb to come up with something like that.
Yeah that was the type of loss which would have ruined my Monday under normal circumstances, but I actually felt some relief that this loss would allow the brain trust to realize the season was over and it was time to evaluate Petty. The Jets just find the absolute best way to lose games. Offsides on a kickoff? If the season wasn't over a month ago I'm pretty sure I would have thrown the remote through the glass of my 75 gallon aquarium after that one. But as it stands, I obviously don't care.

Actually starting Fitz the rest of the way may just be the way to tank properly. It's now officially over....so here comes the debate on tanking. A few years ago Rex won 2 meaningless games down the stretch and it cost them a shot at Mariotta.....They can't make the same mistake.
I know any professional team is not going to actually tank but they MUST start the youngsters at QB and any other position they need players to develop....it develops players and puts a high probability on finishing higher in the draft.....if Petty/Hack go crazy and win a few games at least you know there may be a QB of the future around so it's not as bad.....One more start of Fitz is a detriment to future in multiple ways. Based on Bowles post game he is being stubborn on this.....if he doesnt get into development mode he should go ASAP......it's a lost season....dont make it worse by winning 3-4 more meaningless games finishing out of the top 10.
I think it was more from missing the walkthrough. So apparently Wilkerson was suspended over missing birthday cake. ####### birthday cake!!!?!?!!?
This franchise. I swear to god. Belichek wouldn't even let birthday cake in the building but bowles is suspending people over it.
I'd have to guess that a Jets win with Fitz playing mistake-free means he'll continue to start. A loss and they'll use the bye to get Petty ready to start. Problem is if the team wins and Fitz is ok but nothing spectacular, he may continue to be rolled out there. It looks like Bowles is really going to start Fitz....his quotes illustrated he has no clue as to any positive to see Petty play....I'm sure that will change at some point but what a disaster
I think you are correct....but really what does a win at this point mean? especially a win with a QB who wont be on the roster next year at the expense of more tape on a young QB....im telling you now this is going to drop the Jets big in the draft and cost them an extended look at Petty....I get the coaches only care about winning but someone in that franchise has to give a crap about the long term outlook....I'd have to guess that a Jets win with Fitz playing mistake-free means he'll continue to start. A loss and they'll use the bye to get Petty ready to start. Problem is if the team wins and Fitz is ok but nothing spectacular, he may continue to be rolled out there.
Yeah, Bowles Seems to suck.Lol. We're so bad they just flexed the Patriots game out of prime time.
Yesterday was unwatchable. The game plan was way too conservative and it seems like a few vets (mainly Marshall) have mailed it on.
Hard to put any blame on petty. need to see more . like others, I've seen enough of Bowles. he's in over his head and needs to go
It's bizarre - when he was Cards DC he was innovative, confident and super aggressive - would make adjustments on the fly and send all kinds of pressure at the QB while getting many turnovers...players were inspired and would run through a wall for him....we've seen none of that with the Jets....I really thought Bowles was good from what I heard and read. He is appearing to not be a good head coach. I will never again make any predictions about unproven head coaches. You just never know.
I am not sure if Bowles would survive a 4-12 season. If they can him, I think bringing somebody dynamic would have to occur.
its amazing isn't it?It's bizarre - when he was Cards DC he was innovative, confident and super aggressive - would make adjustments on the fly and send all kinds of pressure at the QB while getting many turnovers...players were inspired and would run through a wall for him....we've seen none of that with the Jets....
and taking Tom Brady with them. You know things are bad when a New York team gets flexed out of a Sunday night game in November.
Of course not, we as Jets fans are simply not allowed to ever have a franchise QB..also early draft reports show not a good year for franchise QBs....great.
I think they have a Thursday Night and Saturday Night game still on the schedule.Pretty sure it's only 1 prime time game , as the pats game got flexed out
think its Mon pm vs the Colts and Sat pm vs Fins.....regardless it shouldnt matter.....time to nuke it and rebuild...this is one of the worst decisions I've seen in Jet history and that is saying something.I think they have a Thursday Night and Saturday Night game still on the schedule.
Totally agreed - but it's more than that.....it's what smart teams do when it's not their year....Indy had a bad year when Peyton got hurt....they made darn sure playing every young player on the roster in order to give them experience and have the best chance at a top pick...just happened to get them Luck.It wasn't like Petty looked overmatched. Even if he will never be a franchise type QB the team must at least see if he's a capable backup QB at the NFL level, so that when they bring in Romo or Cutler (and trust me they will) and they inevitably get hurt or stink they'll at least know that Petty can step in and be competent.
Drink your prune juice because it's happening. As Dr. O said, I think it's even money that it's going to be Romo or Cutler next year. There's not going to be a franchise QB for them ub the draft and they are not going to turn the keys over to Petty or Hack.If they trade for romo I'm driving down the road to woody Johnsons house (it's like 10 minutes away) and taking a #### in the mailbox every week next season.
