2020 Music Thread. 9/11 - Flaming Lips, Everything Everything (1 Viewer)

They’re extremely good but GD I want to go have a cry listening to this.
13yo floppinho had been writing a bunch of tunes lately. He is the goofiest, most innocent happy-go-lucky upbeat kid you can imagine...until you hear his songs- in which you case you imagine a life full of heartbreak and injustice- all in a minor key.

That’s a great song. I really like exile on that album too.

And I agree, but I was on my way to get the car washed! Lol
:lmao:

Exile is outstanding.  Very rare is the song that is enjoyed by me, my 8 year old daughter, my 18 year old son and my wife....but that one is on ALL of our playlists.

Fiona Apple

Taylor Swift

Soccer Mommy

Haim

Adrianne Lenker

Phoebe Bridgers

Here are some albums I like that I've discovered recently---missed a few of these when they were released months ago:

Cornershop - England is a Garden

Sports Team - Deep Down Happy

Deeper - Auto Pain

Nadine Shah - Kitchen Sink

Nada Surf - Never Not Together

I spent way too much time trying to find this thread just to say that I already have a favorite album of 2021 :bag:

ETA: It's The Dirty Nill
I’m glad you found it, I’ve been waiting for you here for awhile now wondering

Please don't sleep on Viagra Boys. Every song of theirs that pops up is a winner for me, going back to Sports. They keep getting called punk, but like long ago fellow swedish fun band, The Leather Nun, not really the right tag in spite of some punk attitudes.

Diving into Black Country, New Road’s debut album and so far it’s not what I expected but I’m very very intrigued.

It admittedly had a really short shelf life for me, but it's not bad at all.  I just wish they hadn't succumbed to making it sound modern with that awful brickwalling.  Ugh.
I guess for what is being passed off as rock music these days, I didn't expect this album.  I can hold on to somewhat of the past for one more album.
