2 K and 2 D is going to kill you imo.

What if Joseph is hurt week 9? You have no kicker.
I'd also really combine jones and chark maybe and get a goo $17 WR.

Titans fan cheering for AJ Still!??!!? wow! haha
I prefer to roster 2K and 2D for the minimum amount. I would rather have a 5th or 6th RB or WR than a 3rd K or D.

And of those say 250 who visit this year in a year, how many actually will read a random post about someone's roster, look it over in depth, and see someone they never thought of? I think people mainly don't post because they think someone will copy them, but I think this happens so little, and if someone does and wins it, then you're likely top 10 and still pretty happy. Share away!
So true! I have always enjoyed sharing strategies here. Typically, I won't criticize choice of players when someone posts a roster - I look more for basic strategy:
- Too much money spent on a given week
- Bye week conflicts
- Limited depth at certain positions
- Overspending on late bye players
- How well your roster meshes
- By this, I mean, if you rostered only 2 QB's, would you pick Mariota as your backup, when he may be riding the pines by the time you need him?

Let's make 2022 a year where a regular poster in this thread wins it all!
What if your backup QB plan is Mariota + Ridder for $9. Or Trubisky + Pickett for $8. That's not my plan but I could see an argument for it.

Agreed. Owning both Mariota + Ridder costs only $9, and kind of insulates you from injury. It's actually a safe and decent move, if you think each one individually would be worth $9 if they were the teams unquestioned starter for the year (like $9 for Goff).

Or as I like to say, $2 more than Mills

Very risky. A poster earlier who finished top 10 mentioned how he really regretted only having 2 TD and 2 K.
Can you imagine if one of the kickers gets hurt/cut and you're entirely rolling with 1 K the rest of the year? His bye week, you're likely out.

Week 9 is tough.
Feel like week 9 is gonna be super tough on everyone. Not sure how that will go.

A bit nervous going with only 2 QBs now, but I guess if you're relying on your 3rd qb for points due to injury then you might be toast anyways.

Well have another beer because I just changed it completely lol
Dammit! I was already ragging on Trey Lance as your top dog!
haha ya I had to switch it up.
In terms of byes (your specialty), is it better to get them done with early in the year when it's easier to make the cut each week? Or later in the year so you can make it deep and then just see what happens.

My drunk evaluation - meant to be taken with a grain of salt and laughed at...

QB - Jalen Hurts - PHI/7 - $19
QB - Lamar Jackson - BAL/10 - $19
I think you selected 6 RB's and no QB's. You do know they give 6 pts per TD pass and 1 pt per 20 yards passing, right?

RB - Nick Chubb - CLE/9 - $24
RB - Breece Hall - NYJ/10 - $21
RB - Nyheim Hines - IND/14 - $13
RB - Dameon Pierce - HOU/6 - $10
Oh, I see what you did here. You were waiting for the contest querier to become active, so everyone could see how thin your RB corps was.

WR - Michael Pittman - IND/14 - $24
WR - D.J. Moore - CAR/13 - $23
WR - Courtland Sutton - DEN/9 - $19
WR - Amon-Ra St. Brown - DET/6 - $17
WR - George Pickens - PIT/9 - $6
OK, I have sobered up just to type this - yes, 5 WR's is very thin, but I love the ones you chose.

TE - Dalton Schultz - DAL/9 - $18
TE - Dawson Knox - BUF/7 - $14
TE - Taysom Hill - NO/14 - $5
Dalton, Dawson, and Taysom? Can your TE's get any whiter?

PK - Graham Gano - NYG/9 - $3
PK - Austin Seibert - DET/6 - $3
PK - Rodrigo Blankenship - IND/14 - $3
So, how do you feel entering week 6 with Gano as your only kicker?

TD - Chicago Bears - CHI/14 - $3
TD - Arizona Cardinals - ARI/13 - $3
TD - Tennessee Titans - TEN/6 - $3
OK, I have run out of jokes, because I like this trio.

I guzzled a beer while typing this. Cheers!

It would be more tough than most with this build since you have 6/21 players on bye week 9 and none of those 6 are backups.

I just can't seem to get 5-6 RB's that I like in. Feel I'm going 'all in' on these guys but hey, gotta risk it for the biscuit. That said, I'll probably adjust this.

Good stuff as always, thanks! Notes above. Revised one coming soon lol

I forgot who it was, but this dude used to have a thread that listed the likelihood of each kicker losing their job midseason, and it was awesome! It wasn't based on injury; moreso on whether he'd turn into Ray Finkle. I haven't seen him here in the last few years, but if anyone remembers who it was...

A little bit about kickers...

Last year, Tucker ($6) was tied with Butker as the most expensive kicker, and Tucker did not disappoint. He finished the contest as K2, scoring an amazing 167.6 contest points. But guess what? You could've saved $2 by rostering both Evan McPherson and Randy Bullock, the only 2 kickers in the contest for $2. This duo would've gotten you 202.4 points (no single kicker has EVER gotten this), and you would've also scored 10.9 more points in weeks 15-17, when it mattered most. Sure, if your roster is maxxing out at 30 players, take 1 kicker and hope you get past the bye week, but history says multiple kickers is better, and it's not even close.

I typically start my contest roster by choosing my kickers. Basic criteria is easy - cheap kickers who won't lose their jobs. This year, for example, I have automatically crossed off all 24 kickers that are $4 and above. This quickly narrows it down to 8 kickers. Next, I know I want 3 kickers with differing byes, and 2 have the same week 6 bye, while 2 more have their bye in week 14. History shows that if a kicker keeps their job, they are worth it. We are now down to:

Week 6 - Seibert, Fairbairn
Week 9 - Gano
Week 10 - Zuerlein
Week 11 - Santoso
Week 12 - Gonzalez
Week 14 - Blankenship, Santos

Of the 8 above, who would you think is the most likely to keep their jobs? These are the guys I am targeting.

Quite like this. Not big on Kittle though, and of course this is counting on a few of those high upside dart throws hitting, but I guess that's often what it takes.

 I hate it. Haven't gotten a #### thing done since it came out. Preparation for my regular league is suffering.
Once my 20 year old dynasty league folds this will be my regular league.

This is my favorite contest by far. And I imagine collectively we forum members go through tens of thousands of roster configurations before settling on that final lineup. Do you capture the actual metrics on that? It would be really interesting. And if there is any correlation between number of edits and a top 10 finish.

Here's my latest version pretty happy with this one. Think I'll leave it alone for awhile.

 I hate it. Haven't gotten a #### thing done since it came out. Preparation for my regular league is suffering.

I like your QBs. Same for me. Rest of my roster is completely different though.

that is a really interesting group of WRs who’ve all had solid stretches at some point in their recent careers. (Plus some opportunities like Skyy and Lazard). Really like it if I were to increase my WR count from the 6 I now roster:

WR - Stefon Diggs - BUF/7 - $29
WR - Michael Thomas - NO/14 - $20
WR - Courtland Sutton - DEN/9 - $19
WR - D.J. Chark - DET/6 - $7
WR - George Pickens - PIT/9 - $6
WR - Josh Palmer - LAC/8 - $6

I've changed it twice since I said I wasn't going to change it anymore. I don't have Lawerence anymore. I'm sure he'll be back though.

I'm hoping for at least one flex score out of them guys. I lost Moore and have Pickens now. The leaving roster alone for awhile thing didn't take.

I went with gano, fairbairn and gonzalez….I think santos and zuerlein might be safe too

Tweaking a little (again)...

Do I count $69 off week 14?

Let's make 2022 a year where a regular poster in this thread wins it all!
love this. Would be great if someone in here won it.
I had Mariota as my 3rd QB but may change it to Brissett. What are people's thoughts on him? He won't be there for the finals weeks, but by then you should assume your starters are healthy and producing or you're toast anyways. Brissett is $7 and should be starting until week 11 which may get you through all your byes

Yup...2 QBs is usally the way to go unless you're 3rd is posting startable points. Brissett could be the worst pick of the contest.
I am tipsy right now, but really want to dig into this roster. Gimme a few...

Don't waste your time.
Or as I like to say, $2 more than Mills
There's a thread for this already - it's called "Players I wish everyone would shut up about"

@TheWinz

QB - Trey Lance - SF/9 - $15
QB - Kirk Cousins - MIN/7 - $14
QB - Davis Mills - HOU/6 - $7
RB - Nick Chubb - CLE/9 - $24
RB - Cam Akers - LAR/7 - $20
RB - Nyheim Hines - IND/14 - $13
RB - Dameon Pierce - HOU/6 - $10
WR - Michael Pittman - IND/14 - $24
WR - D.J. Moore - CAR/13 - $23
WR - Courtland Sutton - DEN/9 - $19
WR - Amon-Ra St. Brown - DET/6 - $17
WR - George Pickens - PIT/9 - $6
TE - Dalton Schultz - DAL/9 - $18
TE - T.J. Hockenson - DET/6 - $17
TE - Taysom Hill - NO/14 - $5
PK - Graham Gano - NYG/9 - $3
PK - Austin Seibert - DET/6 - $3
PK - Rodrigo Blankenship - IND/14 - $3
TD - Chicago Bears - CHI/14 - $3
TD - Arizona Cardinals - ARI/13 - $3
TD - Tennessee Titans - TEN/6 - $3
Week 9 is tough.
Feel like week 9 is gonna be super tough on everyone. Not sure how that will go.

A bit nervous going with only 2 QBs now, but I guess if you're relying on your 3rd qb for points due to injury then you might be toast anyways.

Get over it (nervous),, go big of go home.

QB - Kirk Cousins - MIN/7 - $14
QB - Derek Carr - LV/6 - $13
2 pocket passers who rarely miss games, so decided not to hedge a 3rd QB

RB - Saquon Barkley - NYG/9 - $26
RB - Rhamondre Stevenson - NE/10 - $15
RB - Dameon Pierce - HOU/6 - $10
RB - Tyler Allgeier - ATL/14 - $7
RB - Brian Robinson - WAS/14 - $7
RB - Eno Benjamin - ARI/13 - $6
RB - Chris Evans - CIN/10 - $4
Obviously, I am counting on Superman here. Based on my roster, I am expecting very little in flex appeal at RB, but let's see as the season progresses

WR - Michael Thomas - NO/14 - $20
WR - Courtland Sutton - DEN/9 - $19
WR - JuJu Smith-Schuster - KC/8 - $15
WR - K.J. Osborn - MIN/7 - $8
WR - George Pickens - PIT/9 - $6
WR - Josh Palmer - LAC/8 - $6
WR - A.J. Green - ARI/13 - $4
WR - Sammy Watkins - GB/14 - $4
High ceiling guys, with 3 I assume will be weekly scorers

TE - Travis Kelce - KC/8 - $30
TE - George Kittle - SF/9 - $18
2 monsters used every week

PK - Graham Gano - NYG/9 - $3
PK - Kaimi Fairbairn - HOU/6 - $3
PK - Zane Gonzalez - CAR/13 - $3
3 safe and cheap guys

TD - Minnesota Vikings - MIN/7 - $3
TD - Detroit Lions - DET/6 - $3
TD - Arizona Cardinals - ARI/13 - $3
MIN should be $4, in my opinion

May just use this lineup....looks strong.

I used to be one of those guys who did numerous lineup iterations. Now I just enter a placeholder, maybe adjust it once a week to captures current thoughts, and then dig into it the last week. One or two injuries and everything changes. Personally I feel my time is better invested reading the content FBG puts out this time of year and circling around on this later.

How dare you sir! We have the freedoms of speech, religion, press, assembly, the right to petition Joe, and above all the right to make unlimited lineup iterations. Unlimited I say!

The understand guys, the first stepping is admitting that you have a problem.
