Betting against Portland this year has been off to a lucrative start. 0-3 ATS with another chance to showcase their stuff tonight in Toronto. Going to bet against Portland every game this year. TO THE PROMISE LAND!

Alright, need to update the TK421 Betting Model just a bit to ensure it knows Toronto also sucks really bad at basketball. Bet against Portland AND Toronto every game.

I kind of see the Sixers standing Pat for the year. This season is all about finding out how good Maxey can be. Is he good possibly great or can he be a top 10 player in the league at some point. Only way to know is to let him play. Sixers probably still make the 2nd round of the playoffs anyway so no harm done.

They are making a move I think for sure this season. Can't waste another Embiid year. They will try to maintain some cap space if not an all-star I guess, but something is coming down the line still.

Is standing pat going to keep Embiid happy?

Don't care. If he wants to walk, a mid level trade isn't going to stop him. They only have the ability to buy a big name next off season.

Will any of these players actually help, or are they just all expiring cap space? Covington should play, but Batum and Morris are washed, right? KJ Martin may represent the sixers in the dunk contest, but that's about it.

Batum still seems like a nice last guy in the rotation. KJ Martin seems like the best player of the bunch to me. Covington is probably in a similar boat to Batum in that he is much more of an end of rotation guy than somebody you want to rely on. They are mostly trash in terms of actually getting the Sixers beyond the first round.

Saw a fun twitter stat - including the playoffs, the Nuggets are 69-11 on their last 80 games.
Just looked it up and that isn't correct. They lost 11 of their last 22 regular season games while coasting into the playoffs and then went 16-4 in the playoffs. They lost more games prior to those last 22 regular season as well.

Over their most recent 80 games (inc playoffs), they are 57-23....maybe it was home games?

Just checked last 80 home games (inc playoffs) which goes back to 21-22 season, they went 53-17.

FAKE NEWS!!111

Additional upside of the trade is that Tucker wears concrete shoes and can’t lift his arms so Covington or Batum minutes should be way better.

Also look for the Sixers to have fewer end of shot clock heaves having led the league for years with 60 per game.

Clippers kept Mann, Powell, their 2023 draft pick guy, and got Tucker in return (bad salary, but decent player). They did really well.
To sell tickets I guess you could say it’s good. Don’t think they get past the 2nd round still. And I don’t think Terrance Mann is really going to make a difference either way.

If Sixers get a legit 2nd 1st round pick they got some value back for Harden which in reality he should have just walked away this summer.

I think you are going to be severely disappointed with this second pick. What are the 76ers or Clippers giving this mystery third team that would warrant a 'legit" pick? Neither team has much to offer that they will give up.

Odds are it is a heavily protected first that is unlikely to hit and in a few years will turn into two seconds.
It's an LAC first.

following up on this, the 2026 pick is the least favorable first of the clippers, rockets and thunder.

you would hope that somehow among Martin, Morris, Covington and Batum, they can extract the same or more total value than Tucker, but Tucker is 100% proven commodity as a defender in the playoffs, which is way more valuable than anything Covington or Batum can do at this point. They can maybe fill the Georges Niang role.

Jeremy Lamb, Kevin Martin, a 2013 1st round draft pick (Steven Adams was later selected), a 2013 2nd round draft pick (Álex Abrines was later selected) and a 2014 1st round draft pick (Mitch McGary was later selected.

Rodions Kurucs, a 2021 1st round draft pick, a 2022 1st round draft pick (Tari Eason was later selected), a 2023 1st round draft pick, a 2024 1st round draft pick, a 2025 1st round draft pick, a 2026 1st round draft pick and a 2027 1st round draft pick to the Houston Rockets; the Cleveland Cavaliers traded Dante Exum and a 2022 1st round draft pick (MarJon Beauchamp was later selected) to the Houston Rockets; and the Indiana Pacers traded Victor Oladipo to the Houston Rockets.

Seth Curry, Andre Drummond, Ben Simmons, a 2023 1st round draft pick (Brice Sensabaugh was later selected) and a 2027 1st round draft pick ( was later selected).

New deal placeholder

i count 12 #1 picks and swaps before the LAC deal….lol

You don't know Morey well enough. He loves churning players and was pretty good at making something out of nothing in Houston.

Also a funny thing from this whole deal is Furkan Korkmaz asking to be part of the deal (he demanded a trade a while ago), and both teams saying no thanks.
He has actually requested multiple trades (including earlier this year)

He also puts out an Instagram hype video every year in the preseason.

He is the best and I hope he never leaves.

Spurs are a mess on the offensive end. It's going to take them a month or two to figure some stuff out. Still think they win 35 games.

Vassell and Johnson too

Sounds like a feminine hygiene product from Johnson and Johnson.
The current Spurs roster is chock full of great Mad Libs names.

Champagnie. Sochan. Branham. Bassey. Cissoko. Bediako. Cedi. Sir'Jabari. Mamu. Graham. Barlow.

Once that Mamu gets some Champagnie down her Cissoko it's on! She'll Branham her Sochan and Graham that Cedi real Barlow. Probably end in Bediako to Sir'Jabari that Bassey.

Better Vassell that Johnson before the Popp or end up in her Wembanyama. 😶‍🌫️(Sorry Joe)

have heard more and more about this trade over the last 24 hours. I know we have fanbases who weigh in on who wins trades, but it seems pretty clear that Morrey got what he wanted.

I don't think that it is just red-tinted sunglasses either. It seems that Powell and Mann were not really something the Sixers wanted, because they wanted expiring contracts and a large sum of money for next year. I know they hinted at in the off-season landing some free agent, and there have been various names floated, but i think landing draft capital and the expiring was the what the goal was. There is a rumor that the Clippers had a deal in place to trade Mann for a 1st, so it seems that it worked out for both teams.

The advantage with that 2026 1st rounder, no matter where it lands, is that the Sixers now have the ability to trade some of their own 1st round picks and avoid the Stepien rule (basically avoid a team trading 1st round picks for consecutive years)

What guards are potentially available via trade that the Sixers might be targeting to play next to Maxey?
Real winner in the deal is the NBA media and all of the bloggers out there.

Now they have fodder to run potential trades for the Sixers for probably the majority of the year (it has basically been said if the Sixers have a deal in mind it is pretty much guaranteed it won't happen until at least December when more players become available, and if it is anything it will likely be a trade deadline deal or when another team starts to get more desperate). A lot of Bulls and Raptors have been floated so far with Lavine or Derozan, and same with OG in Toronto.

I think the rumor mill will be full go for a long time, so feel free to buckle in. I for one hope to avoid it since it will be likely every single team with a 3 game losing skid and players floated out there.

OG would be great for Philly. DeRozan is on the downhill side of his career and Lavine would take shots away from Maxey. Siakam could work, but I am not sold on his fit with Embiid.

Guess I won't go to bed, yet.
Wembanyama and the Spurs are a fun watch (aside from the turnovers when Tre Jones is on the bench). So glad Wemby is with Coach Pop and his development will be there. Vassell and Johnson too.

Yep, two teams I never thought I'd root for in my lifetime are the Cowboys and Spurs but Wemby is slowly making me change that for SA. Nice 1-2 punch with Vassell. Anything over 35 wins is a huge W for the franchise.

i can not root for a franchise that had the ability to draft number 1 overall, david robinson, tim duncan and whambamthankyouma'am.

Also, i think Pop is insufferable. I don't know if i want Victor to succeed or become Ralph Sampson.

I hear ya', but somebody has to draft #1 overall every year. I'd rather an elite talent go to a franchise that can get the best out of them rather than contributing to them being a bust.

And Popp is awesome. I'll take his honesty any day vs another cookie-cutter, media trained head coach that's afraid of his own shadow because his team could spin off it's axis if he said they played poorly that night.

I'm withholding judgment until I've seen what Bryan Colangelo's burner accounts have to say about this deal.
