Clippers kept Mann, Powell, their 2023 draft pick guy, and got Tucker in return (bad salary, but decent player). They did really well.
To sell tickets I guess you could say it’s good. Don’t think they get past the 2nd round still. And I don’t think Terrance Mann is really going to make a difference either way.
If Sixers get a legit 2nd 1st round pick they got some value back for Harden which in reality he should have just walked away this summer.
I think you are going to be severely disappointed with this second pick. What are the 76ers or Clippers giving this mystery third team that would warrant a 'legit" pick? Neither team has much to offer that they will give up.
Odds are it is a heavily protected first that is unlikely to hit and in a few years will turn into two seconds.
have heard more and more about this trade over the last 24 hours. I know we have fanbases who weigh in on who wins trades, but it seems pretty clear that Morrey got what he wanted.
I don't think that it is just red-tinted sunglasses either. It seems that Powell and Mann were not really something the Sixers wanted, because they wanted expiring contracts and a large sum of money for next year. I know they hinted at in the off-season landing some free agent, and there have been various names floated, but i think landing draft capital and the expiring was the what the goal was. There is a rumor that the Clippers had a deal in place to trade Mann for a 1st, so it seems that it worked out for both teams.
The advantage with that 2026 1st rounder, no matter where it lands, is that the Sixers now have the ability to trade some of their own 1st round picks and avoid the Stepien rule (basically avoid a team trading 1st round picks for consecutive years)
