NBA L2M report on Wolves vs. Hornets said there were 10 missed calls in the last 2 minutes of that game - 6 in favor of the hornest and 3 for the Wolves, which included KAT was fouled on that last play. So it's not our fault for losing our composure, playing bad defense, and forcing the ball to an exhausted KAT in order to try to beat Embiid. It was the refs and their constant Hornet bias.

Yep. There were actually a lot of critics on the Dame trade, saying they got so much worse defensively. Yet seems like the coach is getting the blame for the defensive drop off instead.

Nobody knows in Portland. They took the games off the standard cable package. The team is really doing all they can to ensure complete and utter ambivalence toward this franchise.

Agree with this. Calling for the timeout looks to occur simultaneously with the double dribble. Only the Ref across the court had a chance to catch it but it feels like the two events happened at the same time.

This is how I see it. The ref that Billups was trying to signal to get a timeout had his back to Billups watching the play. Brogdan has to call the timeout there. Too close to fault the refs there.

You don't have to "win" the trade to make a good trade for you. It was 100% a better deal for the Hornets because they got what could be a decent draft pick for a player that was only going to help them get a worse draft pick for this year and had no place in their long term plans. It was also a very good trade for the Heat because Lowry is done as an NBA rotation player and Rozier is a significant upgrade on both sides of the ball.

I hear that from a lot of people, but I think that's kind of lazy thinking. If you watch the Bucks you see a team that is absolutely lost in transition defense, in addition to possession defense. I love Jrue, but he wouldn't have made much of a difference.

Oh yeah, for sure it's lazy thinking. I haven't watched more than 200 minutes or so of Bucks basketball this season.

Just weird to hear as a fan of the game- defensive contributions are so hard to quantify esp because of the team aspect, but if you replaced a premium skill player with a middling player in a quantifiable category nobody would be wondering why you weren't doing as well in that category. But sure, there has to be something else casual observers like me don't see. I mean it's not like the Bucks front office was unaware of Jrue's defensive prowess.

Bucks were winning over 65% of their games thus far? 2 out of 3 we can basically all agree on?
They fire the head coach and really there isn't a guy to insert right away, maybe Doc will be their coach but it sounds like there is some sorta fracture
I only know of one guy that walked in mid-season and became Head Coach and took the team all the way to the title and that's Pat Riley but maybe there are others I'm not thinking of

Best analogy I've heard is that Bucks players were basically treating Griff like he was a substitute teacher. They were winning in spite of him, not because of him. Change was necessary.

'21- Gets beat 4-3 in the 2nd round to the Hawks with a 2-1 lead at one point
'22- Loses 4-2 in the 2nd Round to the Miami Heat
'23- Loses 4-3 to the Celtics in the 2nd Round, Heat Culture would have stifled him in the ECF anyways

This is who Milwaukee want to bring in to push the Bucks back to an NBA Finals?

You can't have a mutiny and I don't believe players can win a lot of games when they hate their head coach, that doesn't add up to me.

Just weird to hear as a fan of the game- defensive contributions are so hard to quantify esp because of the team aspect, but if you replaced a premium skill player with a middling player in a quantifiable category nobody would be wondering why you weren't doing as well in that category. But sure, there has to be something else casual observers like me don't see. I mean it's not like the Bucks front office was unaware of Jrue's defensive prowess.

Occasionally I would wonder what question would be burning enough to bring me back to the FFA, and now I know:

What the is going on in Milwaukee, and why is everyone acting like it's a big mystery why their defense is faltering? You traded the best defensive PG in the league for one of the worst, what did you think would happen!??!!? If you traded Rudy Gobert for Fred Vanvleet you wouldn't wonder why your blocked shot totals suddenly fell off.

I hear that from a lot of people, but I think that's kind of lazy thinking. If you watch the Bucks you see a team that is absolutely lost in transition defense, in addition to possession defense. I love Jrue, but he wouldn't have made much of a difference.

Oh yeah, for sure it's lazy thinking. I haven't watched more than 200 minutes or so of Bucks basketball this season.

Ty Lue took over for Blatt after a 30-11 start and took that Cleveland team to the title.

Also, the Heat were graded slightly lower on the trade vs the Hornets which I find hard to believe but I just want to see what the temperature in the room is
LeBatard and Stugotz-Meadowlark Media is a Heat culture machine and they weren't all happy on the show last day or two, especially Mike Ryan

You don't have to "win" the trade to make a good trade for you. It was 100% a better deal for the Hornets because they got what could be a decent draft pick for a player that was only going to help them get a worse draft pick for this year and had no place in their long term plans. It was also a very good trade for the Heat because Lowry is done as an NBA rotation player and Rozier is a significant upgrade on both sides of the ball.

I just appreciate that folks think this is a good Hornets trade

Dude is getting paid way too much money to NOT coach to even consider coming back. Not to mention that Edens's ego is way too big to even ask.
