*** 2023 NFL Preseason Game Observations Thread *** (1 Viewer)

Did anybody's game just turn off because it was blacked out in their area? DirecTV just blacked my *** out. I can't find the station it's on, either. This is a pissah.

Pretty obvious after two drives that Raiders are Super Bowl bound and 49ers suck.

Aidan O'Connel looked very nice. If he grows that mustache out, people will start calling for him to replace Jimmy G.

Get yourself a VPN friend

Thanks, man. I'm honestly not technologically savvy enough. I jailbroke my Firestick and ultimately totally broke it in doing so. Rendered it non-functional. Thanks for the recommendation. I prefer to leave everything stock because I'm just too dim and generally too impatient during set-up to do it.

No NFL network?

Big blackout on NFL Network for me. I'm in SoCal, which they consider Raider territory and Fox still televises their preseason games.

Check out NFL Plus.

Thanks. Yeah, just checked into it. I'm not paying for any more subscriptions than I already have, even at that reasonable monthly rate. Money is indeed an issue. NFL Plus Premium looks good, and seems like a great thing to have, but my budget says no.

Firesticks don't need to be "jailbroken", you can load apps on it out of the box by allowing 3rd party apps in the settings. What exactly did you do to it?

This was years ago and I don't think you could add third party apps at the time. They were trying to make it their own little Amazon universe. I still drank then, so this was before 2019. I had somebody here walk me through it and it worked for a while, but then I forgot how to log in so it didn't.

It really tells me that my drinking was making me a total mess. I was forgetting basic **** on the reg and doing stuff with electronics that was above my pay grade.

Trey Lance is seriously terrible.
Will likely go down as one of the worst draft moves ever made
Yeah.

I think the scarier thing is the depth of San Fran’s O-line is not good. I’m guessing these are their two’s?

If that’s the case I question San Fran this year as an offense.
Yes it's their 2nd string, they don't have good depth behind their starters.

KTLA?

100% tangent but, gotta ask: Does, Family Film Festival with Tom Hatten mean anything to you?

No, unfortunately. I'm a CT transplant. I moved out West in late 2015, so that might have been before my time. I also don't get involved in local stuff too much. I'm almost fifty and transplanted so my ties aren't that deep out here and my memories scant. I moved out here at the age of forty-two, which means you miss a lot of things you'd otherwise have growing up here.

So long story short? No.

Gotcha. It's well before your time in LA, but not before your time on this planet.

It was a weekend staple I associate with my father. It focused on legendary, mostly comedy, shorts and films. Stooges, Laurel & Hardy, Little Rascals, Popeye etc. Marx Brothers, Dean & Jerry, Abbott & Costello, the Road films with Bob & Bing etc.

Such a joy to remember. Thanks for triggering that for me.

It was an LA institution
