It’s not the worst trade ever in hindsight but it sure ain’t the best and it hurt their flexibility going forward. Along with how he clogs the toilet on offense. But I don’t know enough to say if they made it this far the last two years without him either.

Well, the new CBA hurt their flexibility. The Wolves would have never traded for him if they knew those cap rules were coming.

That CBA is going to crush everybody. It sucks.

Ant just needs better spacing, some more shooters and/or a second elite scorer. He’s a one man band out there offensively. The rest of this stuff is just ESPN hot take/Kendrick Perkins nonsense.

I mean he does have quality role players who can shoot but I really think the guy holding them back is Gobert. Imagine what kind of offensive weapon they could add with all that salary.

Rudy is a huge part of their success in the last two seasons though. I'm 100% serious when I say he's the biggest reason for their success, behind Ant. Now, if this is as far as they can go with him? That's a differnt discussion.

Rudy is such an interesting player. Even with the DPOYs, I think he has been one of the most underrated players (or maybe misunderstood?) in the NBA. He is one of the best floor raisers that the NBA has had over the last decade because he is such a defensive force. The obvious issue is that he also presents an offensive ceiling that is way easier to see than his defensive contributions, I think.

If your goal was to win a playoff series, I think Gobert has been the 2nd best center in the NBA over the course of the last decade (or 3rd if AD wants to consider himself a center). If your goal was to win a championship, he slides way down that list. At this point, a young team could use his style of play but his defense is slipping while his hands and offense have gotten significantly worse so he isn't worth it for a team like Minnesota. I'd probably still rather have him over KAT, especially when salary is considered.

I was surprised to see OKC lose a single game to the Wolves and the Wolves are significantly better than either the Knicks or the Pacers. If I didn't clear out my betting account by noman Powell hitting a three down 5 with one second left in game 1 of the first round, I would put that same 20 bucks on a sweep in the finals.

Clippers (sneaky good IMO - though they'd Clipper it up in game 7)
Nuggets (Wolves match up well, but best player in the world)

Pacers (Ehhh all right - I still like the Wolves but that's probably my bias showing and Wolves struggled against them during the regular season)

Yeah I think the only objection is the word "significantly". I do think they are flatly better than the Knicks, but I don't think I would say significantly better. The Pacers matchup I think is really even but I would probably have a very slight lean to the Pacers. The Twolves are in the 5 - 7 range.
