2024 Summer of Soccer - Euro's, Copa America, Olympics, WCQing (2 Viewers)

Amazing stats for a 16 year old, particularly since he's on probably the best national team in the world.

Too bad he's barred from playing in OT by German law.

He can play, they will just have to pay a fine, if it’s even levied

he is not barred from playing in extra time.

All that will happen is that they have to pay a small fine, if it even comes to that (most of the German legal experts say it is very unlikely for them to be fined). The fine is more than small enough that if they want him to play in extra time, he will most likely play.

I’m seeing a Spain 2-1 win here. 0-0 at half. Spain scores in like the 58th minute. England responds with a goal fairly quickly. Spain scores the winner in like the 89th minute.

Too bad i accidentally put Spain wins from behind in my parlay…

Never underestimate the pettiness of bureaucrats.

At this point Spain has earned €20.25 million in winnings at this tournament. The winner gets an additional €8 million, the loser €5 million.
The fine would be irrelevent.

Hold on Landon, let's hear from The Head of the Referees Defense Club, Mark Clattenburg.

Sure thing Ian, Mark go ahead and tell us why the referee was right this time.

I think both teams will be pleased with where they are. That’s almost exactly how I would have expected the first half to go. England can’t turn off defensively and Spain can’t get impatient and leave room for Jude, Saka and Foden.

I hope if it gets to 70’ still scoreless that Gareth goes for it with positive subs like last match.

England with the only shot on goal.

Lamel has been ineffective in the first half. I would not be surprised to see him subbed off at 60 if he does not find the flow of the game.

Just reading the Copa final will have Extra Time if needed. Glad to see that. Going straight to kicks in the championship match would seem cheap.

That was just 3rd place match - not sure when the last major final didn’t have ET if needed. But I’m sure I’ll end up being wrong .

Do any of the Spanish players have those stupid cut-outs in their calves? Because I think that could be the difference in this game - England players looking dumb with the Hulk socks..

I actually forgot about the third place match and was talking about tonight. Just glad the Copa didn't take another shortcut for the championship game. Hope they invested in a proper pitch this go around.

What’s the point of those? Looks terrible

Sacrilege but Bellingham reminds me of Zizou

ETA - that shielding of the ball on to his left foot was something Zidane did so many times.

Oh hell yes. Now we have ourselves a game!
