what was it, 16-3 or something like that? The foul count is crazy.

I admire the optimism.ok, we have to beat Uruguay and hope that Panama do not win by 3 goals.
Not great.
How do you even need to explain this? They're playing with 10 men.Quality of the US team too.Because it's 11v10, not necessarily the quality of the opponent“Defending with their lives” and it’s against f’n Panama
They're playing with 10 men.
Etc.
19-4 is what I seewhat was it, 16-3 or something like that? The foul count is crazy.
I may be more worried about the Panama game to be honest. I think they can win that by three.I admire the optimism.ok, we have to beat Uruguay and hope that Panama do not win by 3 goals.

Its possible with an Uruguay who has already clinched and a tournament that would probably like to see the US advance... but its a tall ask imo.
pin itJFC Alexi is unbearable.
16 fouls, yet they had no one with 2 yellows. Plus, there were another 15-20 challenges that were fouls that were clearly missed. Just a terrible job by the ref tonight letting them CONCACAF the **** out of this game.what was it, 16-3 or something like that? The foul count is crazy.
Well, some Horvath too. But yes. No idea how Weah looks CP and Wes in the eye when they get back to the locker room. The loss is on Weah, no one else. The team did everything you could hope for playing down a man for so long.
I'm going to watch Hamilton and Nico crash in Austria now so i can lol a bitpin itJFC Alexi is unbearable.
(I turned it off, so I can only imagine what he is spouting)
No, that is Euro. Copa first tie breaker is GDIsn't 1st rie breaker head to head. If so, we are royally screwed.
Uruguay beats Bolivia
Panama will beat Bolivia
Even if us beats Uruguay top 3 would be tied at 2-1-0
Panama has the head to head against us
You guys are still making excuses for this garbage like 12 years into these threads now. Everybody knows they were playing a man down today. That’s not the point. There’s no touch out there on any free kicks, the team looks like it doesn’t know what it’s doing all the time, it’s just consistently mediocre. This kind of result happens all the time for the US against weaker opponents. It’s not a one off.How do you even need to explain this? They're playing with 10 men.Quality of the US team too.Because it's 11v10, not necessarily the quality of the opponent“Defending with their lives” and it’s against f’n Panama

He's awful but I do appreciate he's calling for GGG's head if they don't get out of the group.JFC Alexi is unbearable.
Not necessarily that he didn't get to the cross, but the shot was hit head high. That has to go over the bar and not get past weak hands to the goal as he's falling.Z mentioned Turner not getting to the first goal (which I mostly dismissed) and some ish else mentioned Horvarh not getting the cross that led to the 2md goal.
Why would he get fired. They were down a man didn’t you hear. He's awful but I do appreciate he's calling for GGG's head if they don't get out of the group.JFC Alexi is unbearable.
I'll be honest - if Lalas is calling for GGG's head - that would cause me to reconsider my own position. He's awful but I do appreciate he's calling for GGG's head if they don't get out of the group.JFC Alexi is unbearable.

Atlanta Braves hat at the USMNT team game.... sure. LOL. Looks like he's had that hat since 6th grade too.
The guy called most everything else... The ref didn't make Weah lose his head- that's on Weah. But that set the stage for everything else. For me, only thing he clearly missed was the guy taking out Turner not getting a yellow.Ridiculous game. Ref lost control
Otherwise... He hasn't been terrible to me.
No. The US has the GD advantage right now. They don't need to gain GD in the last game.Just read the tie breakers... h2h is 3rd. So have to beat Uruguay by 1 more than Panama beats bolivia

This is correct.Just read the tie breakers... h2h is 3rd. So have to beat Uruguay by 1 more than Panama beats bolivia
We are 2 up on Panama right now on GD. Panama has to beat Bolivia by 2 goals more than we hypothetically beat Uruguay by.

He essentially dodged the ball. It was hit right at his face. If it were a tackling dummy there it would have been saved.
First time I saw the first Panama goal, I thought Turner could get there. Upon replays, I thought it was a very good goal, deflected off defender, placed perfectly, would have been a very tough save.Z mentioned Turner not getting to the first goal (which I mostly dismissed) and some ish else mentioned Horvarh not getting the cross that led to the 2md goal.
Neither guy exactly stepped up the way we're used to seeing US GKs through history. Both goals weren't easy to stop, but were still savable.
Not sure US can beat Uruguay B side right now tbh. Should have curb stomped Bolivia (I have a big wager on Uruguay tonight doing just that). Panama is not that good either, but yeah, a man down for 80 minutes is tough to overcome. Bolivia is probably the weakest team in Copa (maybe the mighty Almiron's are worse, but not sure)So let's say Uruguay wins 4-0 or something tonight. That essentially locks up 1st place in the group for them as they'd be up 3 points on USA/Panama and have a 5 and 7 GD lead on each of those teams.
Which I would assume could make it very likely they rest players in their last match against us. Which would be good in that it would help our hopes of advancing, but potentially disastrous in that out of all of this Copa stuff with it being meant to be our one chance to play against elite competition before the WC, we could come out of it with our only worthwhile experience being a match against Uruguay's B team with nothing on the line for them. The ultimate worst case scenario there, now seems almost likely.
I wish we'd played Uruguay earlier so we could've guaranteed at least one real game against elite competition.
@mr. furley 's facial hair >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>That dude's.
Ultimately yes.The guy called most everything else... The ref didn't make Weah lose his head- that's on Weah. But that set the stage for everything else. For me, only thing he clearly missed was the guy taking out Turner not getting a yellow.Ridiculous game. Ref lost control

The only reason it's 12 years is because we didn't have widespread internet forums for the past 30. Your point is a very good one and it goes back to the 94 WC in the USA where we squeaked into the knockout stage. We always seem to squeak through to the knockout stage, but we are rarely, if ever, impressive or dominant. Same story, different day. He could have Oliver Kahn-ed it and just let it hit him square in the face (wish I could find this clip -- it's amazing).I could have thrown myself in the way of that 2nd goal.
Panama should've been beaten, but they've been a solid regional opponent for a bit now, and always a tough game for regional teams. The only reason it's 12 years is because we didn't have widespread internet forums for the past 30. True - walk out with a draw - and it feels like a win.@Capella I'll fight you over this. Imagine your Lightning playing 4v5 for 90% of the game. The level of opposition matters less with the huge man advantage. It takes a toll mentally and physically from the start.
Could they have played better? Sure, most teams could say that in any situation. Whorebath makes that save, 86% of the negativity is gone
Weah gets the blame but GGG is the ultimate scapegoat.Yeah - I blame Weah. ****ing stupid.
Look man I get it. They were up against it (because of their own doing to be clear). My point stands that they are always this mediocre, nothing changes, we have the same bozo coach and bozo schemes, we don’t look prepared, nobody ever gets better, we don’t beat teams better than us, we struggle and lose against teams a shade below us and don’t hammer crap squads like Bolivia or whomever the hell we played the other day. Even if we advance we’d lose 1-0 in the first knockout game in an uncompetitive match and then everybody would pile in to say how close we are and in a few years it’ll get better. And then it won’t. Other than that things are great.@Capella I'll fight you over this. Imagine your Lightning playing 4v5 for 90% of the game. The level of opposition matter less with the huge man advantage. when you look this good they just let you in places@mr. furley - how did you get tickets to the match? The stache and mullet are looking good!
