I dropped the ball at mid-year but we're here to pick up the fumble and take the best music draft to the house.

Two picks per day (one in the AM and one in the PM) starting on Monday. Any song released in 2025 either as a single or part of an album is eligible. We usually go twenty rounds but may extend because we're only doing one draft this year. If you don't have twenty (or time), feel free to drop out or in as you see fit.

I normally don't do drafts anymore, I participate in Music Challenges on Twitter where you rank or list your favorite tunes and if there is a duplication, it doesn't matter...but I digress.

That said, I already got my first two picks in mind for Monday.

After the draft is completed, I will start a thread where people can rank their own Top 20 tunes for 2025 songs from #20 to #1 (or just their 20 unranked favorites if they so wish).

Yeah, I'm wondering what my "strategy" should be. For the 6-month drafts, snipes have been an issue so I'd pick songs from more popular artists early. Maybe leave them for others this time since I have the depth?

In some other drafts over the last few years, I recall picking a song #1 from both black midi, my favorite band of the early 2020s, and from Geordie Greep, the band’s frontman after black midi broke up.

I’ll stay consistent by picking a song from Cameron Picton’s (another black midi member’s) new band. It’s really catchy.
