Can we discuss pet peeves here? (1 Viewer)

you get to the check out line, empty your wagon and leave it. nope, i am not moving it. i will step around and leave it in the way. i don’t care if i can’t reach the cashier.
Why won't you return said "wagon" to where you originally got it from?

He's talking about when someone else does that, as in they empty their station wagon and just leave it there in the line. I've never encountered this, but it would be infuriating.

Seriously. This is a thing? Do they just grab all the bags in their hands and carry them to their car? Seems like an unnecessary exertion of energy when you have a thing on wheels literally right there.

it happens at multiple stores. went to an italian market that has 1 cashier. guy buys bottles of wine and some meats. wine goes in a box and small bag for meats. carries out wine and box, leaves cart. i am not moving it.

and don’t even get me started on those people driving golf carts around stores. last thing i am looking for at an aisle intersection is a motor vehicle.

i am an old nyer, i’ve called it a shopping wagon forever. nowadays the kids say shopping cart.
nowadays? how old are you? i'm 55 and it's been a shopping cart as long as I've known it.
just turned 81. back in my day we would put handles on old station wagons and wheel them around. you remember, they had the exterior affixed wooden panels.

if you go to starbucks, have some idea in advance of what you want to drink. staring at the menu for 10 minutes and asking what comes in a pumpkin spice latte does non of us any good.
Feel like you should avoid stores at this point in our life. You seem quite peavy

Got a quote from Lowe's to have new flooring put in for part of our house. After getting the quote, we changed the type of flooring. Got the revised quote, and the square footage has changed, so that the price is essentially the same, despite using cheaper flooring.

How much $ exactly is a click worth? These clickbait headlines are EVERYWHERE. I chose 4 at random this morning and clicked on them all (hope whoever enjoys my $0.40 or whatever they're worth) to make this post.

"Beloved voice actress dead at 67". No mention of her name unless you open the article, and then it turns out to be someone I've never heard of who did voiceovers in tv commercials for 30 years, but voiced some obscure anime character once so shame on us all for not cherishing her.
"Sports world reacts to Leonard Fournette news". The article finds a way to stretch "he still doesn't have a team" into 3 paragraphs, including 4 tweets from random people musing why that is.
"Republicans incensed at Biden over latest decision". Republicans are outraged at everything, Biden did nothing new, whole article is a giant nothingburger.
"Nick Saban begins 17th season at Alabama by doing something unprecedented". The big surprise? He didn't release a full team depth chart showing who the 4th string nose tackle and 3rd string punter is. OMG can you even imagine, ol Nicky has gone off the rails!

I'll go back to ignoring these like I usually do, but I am curious for anyone that might be in the know - what's a click really worth in these instances?

Sounds more like a mistake than a peeve. Unless of course this is a common occurence in your world

recent Packers headline "Packers release notable veteran QB in shocking move"

that QB: Danny Etling

One more I just saw:

"Urban Meyer makes major move in Florida real estate"

He sold his house in Jacksonville for $2.3M, netting him $150k over what he bought it for. Oh and it was in Tebow's neighborhood too. Major move indeed, shook up the entire FL real estate landscape with that one...

Today's peeves...

Stupid advice.

Stupid people that don't realize their advice is stupid.

"Where is a place I can print an 8 page form, sign it in several places and send it back to somebody?"

"The notes app on your iPhone!"

That goes along with people who reply with answers to questions that were not asked or does not pertain to the question asked. This happens on facebook alot..... I'm not on facebook but my wife will always chime in and tell me when some doozies are posted.

"Hey my team is looking for a scrimmage anywhere 30 minutes from trenton nj"

"pm this coach they are looking for scrimmage they are in pittsburgh pa"

My wife showed me a post of a woman asking for boutique clothes shops that had tall sizes. She specifically said in her post that she had already been to a list of like 4 stores. At least 6-7 replies recommending one of those.

I got kind of spoiled. Our last subdivision had a super helpful Facebook page. The Facebook group for where I live now is not very bright.

The big item trash pick up day was coming up. So I asked a question about some items we had that didn't seem to be covered by the pamphlet that came in the mail or the list on the website. Asked if anybody had ever tossed these things in past pick ups. One person said he had discarded one of the items. Like 25 other posts either recommending junk haulers, links to the website, or one woman even posted a picture of the pamphlet I had already mentioned that didn't list these items.

It's like asking who do I start and getting draft advice.

Just the worst.
