Can we discuss pet peeves here? (3 Viewers)

Went to Kwik Trip a few minutes ago and bought 3 medium sized bags of chips, 1 pint of ice cream, 1 small container of potato salad, and some milk. After paying the young kid asked me if I wanted a bag. Are they really trying to save on plastic bags, or are people really that stupid?
They are told to ask this just in case the customer brought in their own, even if it is obvious you don't have one.
Yep, I could have been hiding it in my butt crack.
Prison wallets are en vogue
The store manager should have done a strip search first, and if nothing found, automatically put my stuff in a bag.

I almost always say no bag. I’m sure I’m not the only one. I’m sure you could carry all that in your 2 hands if you really wanted to
Why would he not make his life 10x easier and put his stuff in a bag?

Lol Kwik Trip might be bizarro Quick Trip or QT here in Texas, today I got a hot dog and fountain Coke Zero (or whatever it is called these days), the clerk didn’t ask and put my hot dog that was already in a clam shell in a bag, and I said not bag needed thanks.

It’s always good to challenge oneself on occasion .

My guess is they are so used to asking "Would you like a bag?" that it is more of a habit than anything else. Having said that, a little bit of common sense and pride in one's work is in order.

How did you get the items to the counter?

They have small buggy’s and the carry baskets.
No

Ok. To answer the original question I used one of their hand held baskets to carry my groceries to the counter.

I think you are asking too much for a Kwik Trip counter employee to take pride in their work

I know. Thus the reason why I also mentioned they ask if you want a bag out of habit.

Improves grip strength, too.

He also should have congratulated you for the little one on the way.

Though those are going to be phased out in a couple years.

Oh I had second and third thoughts about it, but roller dog protein was better than skipping and getting a hunger headache. Hmm hunger headaches are a pet peeve to note. Mine are so bad usually only after eating and a good nights sleep do they go away.

I carried a Kohl's plastic bag in my shorts pocket for awhile on Saturday when I went to a few breweries. I knew I was buying t-shirts for the FFA T-Shirt Exchange and didn't want to carry t-shirts around all afternoon/evening. So I guess, technically, it IS possible to have a bag on you. But still.... it's a teenager working at a gas station

Oldest started a high school last month whose uniform is khaki shorts and a polo shirt with their logo on it that you have to order from Lands' End. We ordered a bunch that were too big. So you would assume we can just send them back and ask for a size exchange from L to M, right?

Oh no, my friend, while that is how 99% of e-commerce sites would handle it, that would be far too easy for Lands' End. Here's what we have to do instead:
  1. Send back the items that are too large
  2. Wait until the refund gets processed and a credit is added to our account. I suppose we could have ordered the new sizes at the same time we were sending in the returns, but I was worried that if we did that they would charge our card again and then issue a credit, so we would be stuck carrying over that credit until the next time we had to order from them
  3. Go back to the website and order all the items anew. Now, it is true that I can look up past orders and click on the "Order Again" button. But I have to do that for each individual item, and each time I click through I have to re-select the color/size.
  4. On top of all that, half the items we wanted to order in the new size were either out of stock or on backorder until January

I remember back in the day when a Mi-T-Mart employee foiled an armed robbery with his bare hands and got promoted to manager thanks to his gumption and initiative. Kids these days . . .

People who spend like 5 minutes meticulously washing their dishes at the office sink. Just give a cursory rinse and deal with it at home
The worst part is when they clog the sink because they are putting food stuff down a drain that doesn't have a garbage disposal. It's not meant for that. Jeesh....Just take it home.

The thing that bothers me a million times more than someone washing dishes are these people that just leave piles of dirty dishes in the sink all day. Rinse/clean your dishes and get them out of the sink so the rest of us can use the sink. What in the world is wrong with people? Seriously, how completely inconsiderate can you be? We've had this issue for years. The dishes aren't in there for a few minutes or an hour, it's the entire day.

Quite the conversation here but no one is asking the pertinent question. Gas station potato salad??
Kwik trip is unique. They own their own farms and kitchens and have some random products that they make better than pretty much anybody.
In Wisconsin, Kwik trip has probably become one of the biggest restaurants. This isn't bad gas station food.

I'm no food snob, but man - that seems pretty gross, I mean, Kwik Trip is no WaWa ...or even Sheetz - and that's still sad for being a leading local "restaurant".

sorry man.

Wife and I have been having it out lately stemming from these peeves. Has a nail appointment with my daughter. Hey you have cash? Me just enough for tonight.

Well can you stop and give me yours. I asked you to get extra when you stop

I was in a mood and basically said you knew about this appointment for two weeks why did you stop to get cash

Some excuse, then says you know I always run late

Then of course I say how about you be on time for once. You are allowed to stop yourself

Fun morning
