Is it socially acceptable to honk your horn 4-8 times every time you leave your driveway?
Daughter bought me those several years ago. Not a fan so I gave them back.get Aftershokz - https://www.amazon.com/AFTERSHOKZ-Open-Ear-Wireless-Conduction-Headphones/dp/B07RQLRTR4
they may look a bit awkward because they're not buds and the connection between earpieces is a wrap around behind your head but they will never fall off and have been reliable for me the last handful of years. no issues.
but if you don't care about the cool kids and just want the capability of listening to music/podcasts/books without worrying about losing the technology randomly.. these are great.
They make some that are pretty flat and supposedly don't hurt the ears if you're a side sleeper. https://a.co/d/5089LG5This works if I sleep on my back, but mostly on my side or stomach and therefore hurtsHow do these not fall out when you are sleeping, tossing, turning? The only earbuds that even fit in my ears are the cheap wired ones that come with your iPhone. I've tried the wireless Air Pods and many other iterations and they just end up falling out. Oof!Air pods. Nothing that small and that frequently used should cost more than about $20 - it's as if they deliberately designed the product to get lost as frequently as possible. My kids both are constantly losing them and the amount of stress it creates when it happens is amazing. Ear phones should either have a wire attaching them or be super cheap.
I have 3 pair. One I wear to bed to listen to podcasts to help fall asleep- and not hear the woman to whom I’m related to by marriage snore. A pair in my travel case and a pair that I wear outside/while working on projects.

Could be. She bought them for me for when I'm riding the bike. "You'll be able to listen to music and still hear the cars." Guess she was worried I'd get run over. Well that's just it, I want to drown out the outside world when I'm riding, and the bike trail is separated from the road anyway. I see though that those now come with earplugs which would then cut off outside noise like I want.think we talked about this before. can't recall for sure.Daughter bought me those several years ago. been wearing mine for several years now. no decline in performance. they look and function same as the day i bought them.
If they’re standing straight up and the AirPod stem is sticking out of their ear like a Qtip is sticking out of it, that’s Horizontal to the floorPeople that confuse horizontal and vertical?

no doubt ...came here to post an old Christmas related gripe ...
$70k+ VEHICLES FOR CHRISTMAS!
come on man, insanity.
also, I hate whistling (apparently it's a "condition") and that Christmas palm tree Corona commercial with the "O Tannenbaum" whistling makes my eye twitch and feel very stabby.
You are not the only one. There needs to be a law on LED Headlights.
On low beams they are waaaayyyyy too bright. Especially on two lane roads. They are getting flat out dangerous at this point.

these are the same people who pull so far forward at a light that people in the right lane cannot see over, or around, them to know when it's OK for them to turn. your car is 8 feet off the ground, you can see over everyone else. have a little courtesy for normal sedans and such.Yes. Also, if you drive a truck/SUV, be aware where your lights are shining, when pulling up behind smaller cars.

Monster trucks are certainly a problem, but even run-of-the-mill pick-ups and SUVs have grown obnoxiously big imo. Like their bloated occupants, our vehicles are badly in need of a diet.these are the same people who pull so far forward at a light that people in the right lane cannot see over, or around, them to know when it's OK for them to turn. your car is 8 feet off the ground, you can see over everyone else. have a little courtesy for normal sedans and such.Yes. yep. i was thinking more of the regular old SUV and or trucks out there, not even the jacked/lifted ones. just a normal, standard, SUV or truck in the US is obnoxiously big nowadays. i drive a 4-door car. around here it's like i'm a 4th grader on the varsity team, looking completely ridiculous and out of place.Monster trucks are certainly a problem, but even run-of-the-mill pick-ups and SUVs have grown obnoxiously big imo. And if they avoided leaving it in the middle of the aisle blocking everyone...It would be great if people learned to keep their cart on the same side of the aisle as they are.
How come we all know to drive on the right side of the road but when in public spaces so many people walk on the left and into "oncoming traffic" ?And if they avoided leaving it in the middle of the aisle blocking everyone...It would be great if people learned to keep their cart on the same side of the aisle as they are.

Isn't the rule that pedestrians are supposed to go against traffic? I'm a runner and I always run on the left side of the road (unless I'm coming around the bend on a rural road, in which case I'll briefly switch sides to ensure a car doesn't come roaring around the corner before they see me)

Eleven times just now! Little kid is asking everybody to do this.Is it socially acceptable to honk your horn 4-8 times every time you leave your driveway?
I say this all the time as somebody living in downtown NYC... If you're visiting- our sidewalks are like your streets. Make that a mantra. Stay to the right. Don't walk 4 across just because you're a family. Don't stop in the middle of the sidewalk to scratch yer gob or call Aunt Lucy to tell her you saw a celebrity... your legs work, in theory ; pretend there are 8-10 million people trying to get places so pull over to the side out of their way.Isn't the rule that pedestrians are supposed to go against traffic? I agree 100%. But I think he’s talking about walking on a sidewalk or down a hallway and people are walking on the left side where people walking toward them are.
Is this a safety thing or a honk to say hi thing? Who is this kid... Are they just wandering the earth asking for honks?Eleven times just now! Little kid is asking everybody to do this.Is it socially acceptable to honk your horn 4-8 times every time you leave your driveway?
Every day. Every time somebody leaves.
This is madness.
At some point when the kid is asking for 18,19,20 somebody will be like, look kid, this is out of hand. Right? Please???
I live in the opposite of a city, and this stuff drives me nuts to. Groups tend to forget all social rules.. it's uncanny.Another public space behavior:
In spaces like a stadium concourse or mall hallway - don't congregate with your crew holding your beers and lattes RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF THAT WALKWAY!
This happens so often at the end if an event. Eight jabronies standing around pointing in eight different directions "no, we came in those doors" while 65000 other people have to navigate around them on their way out. Step aside, for crying out loud
I hate when people come walking out of a store and don't even look left as they leave and practically walk into you. I make sure to walk really close behind them or past them. I find they come in handy when I want to wipe my hands on something.Took the family to a matinee off Broadway show just now.
