In a hurry at hotel…wait for 12 people to get off of elevator stopping at every floor…room card doesn't work…ride back down to wait in line to get card refreshed is 10 of the most annoying minutes i can think of.
I yell at these people. So Annoying.Speaking of elevators...The people that are waiting to get on the elevator who walk right up to the doors when they open as you are trying to get off. Bro let me out first.

Mr R says that there are sometimes more than 100 players on a college team. The rules allow one defensive player and one offensive player to share a number.why are 2 players, on the same team, allowed to have the same number in college football?

I went to a strict private school for grades 5 and 6. If you spit you had to get a clean up kit and clean it up. Even on grass.Athletes that spit every 5 seconds. Where is all that disgusting crap coming from?

Now, there’s probably a floor limit you’re unwilling to visit by stairs, but it’s a lot of free exercise, and exit stairwells frequently deposit you in in exciting places you wouldn’t see otherwise (loading docks, the bowels of housekeeping, restaurant kitchen, and best of all, the emergency exit only, door is alarmed sign - do you feel lucky?)
FYPMaybe not a pet peeve per se' but certainly something that's irritating and/or just confusing the heck out of me now that school's started. It's the final year of doing a kid dropoff (boy will be in middle school and will ride his bike starting next year), and I am on dropoff duty whenever I'm not out of town. I hate crowds/lines, so I tend to get my boy ready and we're out the door a few minutes before we really need to... but I like being towards the front of the line at dropoff and if I drop him off right when the gates open up, I usually avoid the mass amounts of people walking in the area. Anyways, I digress... it seems that it's the same parent who's at the front of the dropoff line who's annoying the crap out of me. We drop off along the sidewalk that runs through the back lot of the school. There's a couple of gates at a little curve in said drive aisle where you pull up, drop your spawn off and go about your way. Well, we invariably get into the queue a few minutes early and this one SUV is at the front pretty much every day. For some insane reason they stop about 1-2 car lengths BEHIND where most parents stop their vehicles to drop their kid off. Basically they are wasting at least one spot in the queue (which gets incredibly long and extends out into the street by the time it gets closer to the gates opening). I feel like driving up to them and getting out of the car to point out the 30ish feet in front of them that they could be utilizing. Or just pulling around and in front of them to wait for the gates. Anyways, long-winded rant over. I just hatedumbpeople.

Drive around in pull in front.
One that is increasingly testing my patience is similar to this, people who leave way too much space between cars at an intersection, or very slowly close the gap. How do you not realized that this can increase the length of cars and cause backups in other intersections?
And these people at that leave a huge gap, but then continue to inch forward every few seconds. What is wrong with you?

I appreciate the explanation. I also think it's partially just a disgusting habit that each generation picks up from watching the last gen. Guys in a baseball dugout hanging on the railing that have exerted 0 energy just constantly spitting (not sunflower seed shells) is baffling and gross. Sip some Gatorade and swallow; not that hard.Athletes that spit every 5 seconds. Where is all that disgusting crap coming from?

I wish I could. When I run outside yes.
“When you exercise, your sympathetic nervous system kicks in. The flow of saliva may increase but it also increases in thickness and stickiness. This is what can make it hard to swallow and drives runners to spit it out. The thickness increases for three reasons:
- Protein release. Exercise, of any intensity, increases the production of certain salivary proteins including one called MUC5B which increases in amount immediately after exercise. When protein concentration of saliva is increased it makes it thicker. Think of it as having more gravy powder in your jug of hot water.
- Dehydration. If you become dehydrated, your body wants to preserve water wherever it can. Reducing the water content of saliva is a good way to do this. Saliva thickens as a result and it can leave you with a sticky yet dry mouth. You have the same amount of gravy powder but less water.
- Mouth breathing. Most runners breathe through their mouths, especially during higher intensity exercise. Your body wants to keep your mouth moist and because the air is drying it out, the glands produce more saliva. However the saliva that it there is thicker because the water content reduces by evaporation. It’s also possible that cold air could have a direct effect on the salivary glands causing them to excrete more mucous too.
Hockey players and football players do it because they can on ice and on the field outdoors. They show hockey players doing it a bunch since they pan the camera to the benches constantly. Indoor guys can’t so they swallow it. If they could I guarantee they would. Disclaimer I think it’s gross but I get it. And not knocking his peeve just saying there is a science behind it.
Speaking of elevators, you can avoid these issues by not taking them.In a hurry at hotel…wait for 12 people to get off of elevator stopping at every floor…room card doesn't work…ride back down to wait in line to get card refreshed is 10 of the most annoying minutes i can think of.

I’m always down for the stairs if they are available. Also don’t mind parking further away in parking lots for a little extra walk time. Unfortunately some places have no stairs though.

It‘s probably because there is a newborn nursery somewhere in the hospital. Nearly every day, a “code pink” is called, meaning an infant has been abducted. The thing is, it’s always the family who’s taken the kid off unit. Anyway, the stairs from that unit are badge entry, as are floors which directly access the OR and same day surgery - don’t want extra germs in those environments. When my step dad was in the hospital I ran down the stairs from the 6th floor. Agree wrt parking. Don’t have the patience for people stalking the close aisles, or obnoxiously backing in when cars are waiting.

Weird all stairwells in that hospital are that way. I exclusively take the stairs in our 10-floorhospital, and typically run into other healthcare providers along the way. Physical therapists are probably the most common stairwell utilizers, though ICU/rapid response/trauma teams also avoid the elevators.
Overall, it’s pretty embarrassing people whose job involves promoting health don’t practice what they preach. Heck, even the director of the bariatric program is ~40 pounds overweight.
This actually sucks too because then there is a bottleneck leaving the lot and the folks that waited in the queue now have to pay attention to the cars leaving the queue ahead of the order.I leave myself a big enough gap to pull around the car in front of me in case the **** hits the fan. Yeah, I understand for security reasons, but it’s fewer than you think. While I have set off a few alarms in my life, usually there is no consequence to exiting doors labeled “emergency exit only”. I suppose you could ask a buddy in security if they are legit, or just pay attention to the exits, as you may see them being used despite the warnings. Many multi story buildings do not have stairs that are general use. Speaking of elevators...The people that are waiting to get on the elevator who walk right up to the doors when they open as you are trying to get off. Bro let me out first.
I’m always down for the stairs if they are available. Also don’t mind parking further away in parking lots for a little extra walk time. Unfortunately some places have no stairs though.
Agree wrt parking. Don’t have the patience for people stalking the close aisles, or obnoxiously backing in when cars are waiting.

I leave myself a big enough gap to pull around the car in front of me in case the **** hits the fan. Gotta have a getaway lane if necessary, especially these days.Maybe not a pet peeve per se' but certainly something that's irritating and/or just confusing the heck out of me now that school's started. I just hate dumb people.
Was just going to say this. There is an old adage too that says when stopped you should be able to see the car in front of you rear tires. A lot of old timers still abide by this rule. But leaving 20-30 feet is too much for sure.
