Man I'm full of peeves today. Why do apps log you out? Went to check in for my flight to Denver tomorrow on the Southwest app and it had logged me out. Of course I don't know my frequent flyer number by heart so I have to go to my work email, go to the folder where I've stored the email from SWA with the number, copy it and then paste it into the SW app and plug my password in and of course by the time that all happens I'm stuck with B-39. Not a business trip so I don't wanna pay the extra fee to upgrade to the front of the line. I'll just sit in the back of the plane like a commoner.

Try buying a beer on a United flight. They've gone "contactless payment", which sounds kind of neat. You must first download their app BEFORE your flight, log into the inflight wifi - if it's working, sign up/in using a 47 digit password with letters, numbers, and assorted hieroglyphics, upload a credit card to your "wallet" on the app (this had to be done before your flight), then share a code with the flight attendant verifying that you uploaded your credit card and that payment is being processed. Thanks, but I'll just have a Diet Coke.

Also saw during a monsoon down there cars driving with their hazards on- because it was raining. Rain doesn't qualify, and is dangerous to flash them.

For Hazards in rain it depends on how hard it's raining and the road way. I've been flying down 95 only to get caught in a heavy storm with low visibility. I have no issues with that

I'm with belljr on this one. If you're driving in poor visibility situations like heavy rain or snow then hazards on is a way to let people behind you know you're there and likely driving in a cautious(re: slow) manner. I've done it many times and I appreciate other drivers who do it as well. If I don't find the driving conditions to be as bad as the driver in front of me I'll switch lanes and drive how I'm comfortable.

I fly United quite a bit and have noticed they went "contactless". I very rarely buy anything inflight, though. That said, if I wanted to.... I already have the app downloaded (for checking in, boarding pass, etc.), and since I had just used the app to board, I would assume I'd still be logged in. And I think I already have a card on file.

But if you're an infrequent flyer I can see how this would be a major pain.

This sort of thing wouldn't affect me personally because I never buy anything on flights, but it's a nice example of how airlines are making air travel as unpleasant as possible. If I was the sort of person who just wanted to buy a beer or snack box or something, I would pissed that they made me jump through a bunch of hoops instead of just accepting my credit card like every other merchant.

No, it isn't. Presumably, everyone is experiencing the rain. (Unless you have your own personal cloud.) Hazard lights are to indicate a problem specific to your car. That's why they are called emergency flashers or hazard lights. (I had to look up what a four way is. Sounds like a stop sign.)

It was about safely alerting other cars that you're either stopped somewhere unsafe or going way below the speed of traffic due to car issues (or funeral procession).

It's the speed of traffic part that makes driving with them unsafe... To me. I see those and I know there's a problem that. I need to avoid and go around safely. If it's raining or otherwise weathering so badly that it makes my vision compromised- I slow down or pull over and make sure my lights are on. If I see somebody else's hazards, im assuming they've stopped or are going far enough below speed of traffic that I need to safely go around them.

Hard rain out of nowhere to the point you can’t see? Sure, maybe work your way over to the side of the road and stay there. Don’t drive in the far left lane, less than half the speed limit.

Abrupt stop, or a stop over the crest of a steep hill, sure, put em on to make somebody behind you aware of an upcoming hazard.

Oh, and a lot of you driving with your parking lights on forget to turn them off after the storm.

Yeah if I'm 1-2 miles away from hitting the storm and see people turn their hazards on ill slow down. Brake lights I figure they just slowed down for a second. You can't always tell the rate of people slowing down with just brake lights. Is everyone slamming on their brakes or just tapping them? many variables

Hazards are for if you alone are travelling unsafely below the speed of traffic or forced to be stopped somewhere unsafe. That's what hazards tell me, so when I see them I'm thinking of how to safely get around them.

I disagree... it is about alerting others behind you that there is a dramatic change in conditions occurring, whether it is just me or everyone else.

we were driving on the autobahn from Innsbruck to Munich at a high speed. maybe 30 miles from munich, traffic came to a halt very quickly. brake lights would not have been a sufficient alert

strange as you and i grew up in the same area and i took my driver's training in marin. for me it was an alert to slow down due to hazardous conditions.

In California, you should use your hazard lights, also known as flashers or emergency lights, when your vehicle creates a temporary hazard for other drivers:

• Emergencies
  If you need to pull over on the shoulder of the road due to an emergency, such as a broken down vehicle or car accident
• Warning other drivers
  To alert other drivers of hazards on the road, such as a pothole, collision, flooding, or illegal parking
• Getting pulled over
  To signal to a police officer that you acknowledge their signal and are following their request
• Changing a tire
  When your vehicle is on the side of the road and could be a hazard to other drivers
  Driving in bad weather
  To make yourself more visible in heavy rain or dense fog.

Nah actually it was a la carte. It was $2.99 for the Cheesy Double Beef Burrito (this thing is huge), the Stacker (sub steak) was $3.49 and the 3 Cheese Chicken Flatbread was $2.69. Super reasonable.

I see they have a "build your own Craving Box" for $8.99, which includes a drink (which usually is super overpriced a la carte). Gonna try that next time.

Yep and even if they do it they don't advertise it.

For example took kid to McD not too long ago. Was like I'll get one of the $5 meals. No where is it shown or listed.

I ask hey you guys have the $5 meal they look at me like I'm dumb for asking. "Of course Burger or chicken"

However if you park two cars on the street every night please dont park them on opposite sides of the street across from each other.

We live in a neighborhood that has a couple homes routinely rented to bougie college upperclassmen at SMU. Every year around now when the lease turns over, they park on the wrong side of the street.

Every year, me, my wife, our next door neighbors, the neighbors two doors down, and others on the street immediately report the cars with photos and license plates to Dallas parking authority, and for a couple weeks they just get hammered with tickets until the lesson is learned.

I take a somewhat perverse joy in it and have a tinge of excitement knowing whats coming soon...

Ours has a four digit number. The first two numbers are the block number on the map grid.

My parents' house had a five digit number. Same deal with the first three digits.
