So was on the highway today. Road construction sign pops up saying it’s coming in 5 miles, so I proceed along. With about two miles to go the line in the right lane is tight. So I continue in the left lane which is wide open. I have trailers behind me who know how this is supposed to work. Half mile to go and a huge truck pulls into the left hand lane to “block” those of us who understand what a zipper merge is and how it is supposed to work.

There was one tiny little trash can in the bathroom and none in the bedroom/living area. I flew in and arrived with a headcold so filled that one can up with used tissues pretty quickly.

There was one roll of TP (not a full one) mounted to the wall in the bathroom and no spare rolls at all. I was using TP for nose blowing until I spotted a tissue box in the living area on the desk

Any kind of home care service now ends in a full court press to scan a QR code and "give me [the technician] a 5-star review". It's not the actual person you're rating so that the company gets feedback on their technicians and can improve their service. No, it's always a link to the company's google review. So because the kid did his job and went around the yard and sprayed repellent for 15 minutes, I'm supposed to give a 5-star review to the company that was overall a terrible value and couldn't successfully eradicate a hornets nest that was pointed out to them on their first visit when I actually needed them.

I guess this is the reason why companies with 4.7 google review ratings are completely worthless. I'm certain there's plenty of bots and farmed out 5-star ratings going on as well.

And yes I know you can "un-tag" yourself so you don't have to see all of the notifications, and I guess it is a nice gesture to thank everyone that took time to wish you happy birthday, but I've flipped on Facebook only to find 30 notifications from one of these posts. There is an intersection a block from my home that has stop signs going in two directions and right-of-way the other two. But it kind of feels like it should be a four-way stop, plus it's a block from a school so everyone drives carefully, no matter the time of day.

Invariably, I'll be waiting at the stop sign and a car approaches the intersection. I wait for them, but then they slow down because they figure I was there first and have the right of way. So we both just sit there honking at each other or flashing our brights or whatever before one of us says, "Eff it" and drives through. There's a part of me that always wants to impart the lesson that they don't have a stop sign there, but I'm also not going to grow old waiting for them to have that epiphany

This is why I removed my birthday from facebook. I don't need aquantances wishing my happy birthday. I am definitely not a post everything on facebook, actually I don't post anything. I just see what everyone else is doing.
