CJ?K in 2013 (1 Viewer)

He's been a beast in the passing game this year, when used. Maybe they are waking up finally.
in both instances though it seems to be an after thought as opposed to a clear plan to get the ball in his hands.
His long reception this week was on a designed screen. These 4-6 targets per week is welcome after getting 1 or 2 for the first few weeks.

Already have my first offer for CJ from a shark looking to take advantage of Tennessee's upcoming schedule.

Declined Mathews and Keenan Allen for CJ

After the bye: Rams, Jags (2x) and Colts (2x).

That along with him getting more involved in the passing game looks like he should have a good 2nd half.

Johnson has another tough assignment this week, then a bye week, then the schedule opens up a lot. I am disappointed he didn't juke as much in the early weeks, Locker going down has not helped, in fact I underestimated his impact on the offense.

Johnson has a very soft schedule down the stretch and I think owners are going to be shaking their heads who don't own him come playoff time.
After this post, Locker was announced as the starter, seems to make a difference for Johnson. He is set up for a strong 2nd half.

Shark here, traded for CJ2K today in my dynasty league. I've always wanted him, and given the schedule he seems like a great roll of the dice for a team competing to win a fantasy title this year.

Is there any hope that she shows the CJ2K of old down the second half of the season? What's the latest on him? Schedule sure looks nice.

I'm sure hoping so. Held him through the tough schedule in hopes of some huge 2nd half production.

What did you give for him? I gave up a late 1st (2nd place team).

Same. First place team here.

Looks like he's finally getting the passes we've been waiting for. In PPR I was thinking of trading him for a WR like Andre Johnson or a decker, but Chris Johnson's playoff run (besides week 14 @denver) looks too enticing.

I tried to trade CJ2K for Trent before this past week for about a month and am now glad he never did it. I would put his value at about Murrays right now.

been offered cj2k for Jordan Reed. I could use a WR, not a RB, so didn't take it, though. redraft, shallow work league, idp, no flex

they played their worst game in years last week.

All there is for hope from that game is Munchak rolled some heads or they hit rock bottom or somesuch.

Locker did return, but he played as well as the rest.

With Bud dead, what happens to Munchak if they continue along this path? Do we know anything about Bud's heirs in terms of football?

Rotoworld:

Updating a previous item, coach Mike Munchak stated Wednesday he'd like Chris Johnson to get 20 carries per game going forward, with Shonn Greene handling 15.
It's humorous because Johnson hasn't received 20 carries in any game since Week 2, and his carry totals have declined steadily and precipitously since the beginning of the season. Ultimately, it sounds like the Titans are pushing the idea of a near-even carry split between Johnson and Greene, which bodes poorly for CJ2ypcK's value and positively for Greene's. Johnson's fantasy owners need to hope the Titans continue to increase his passing-game work, because his carries are diminishing and he's not going to get any goal-line chances. At this point, Greene needs to be owned in all 12-team fantasy leagues.

I'm cautiously optimistic after the last game. C Brian Schwenke appears to be a big improvement in the run game over Rob Turner. Johnson only had 9 carries but it was a the first time in four games he averaged over 4 YPC. Schwenke also helped set up the 66 yard TD by blocking Willis.

Anyone think we might see a Green-Ellis/Bernard type split with Greene/CJ going forward? Based on their current skill sets, it makes a lot of sense to me.

The defenses he will be playing are night and day before the bye. He should be able to get it going starting this week. If he can get rolling I dont see how greene gets more than 30% of the rb touches.

The Rams have given up more points to RB's than any team he's faced this year.

Only way he is getting his TDs are going to be from outside the 10. He would be a stud, instead he is more of a RB2/Flex.

Agreed, and until then he will remain boom or bust. Glad he's booming today and I still think his schedule will produce plenty of booms moving forward.

From the game thread:

I know it's only the first game since the BYE, but all those people saying "hold" on CJ because the schedule gets easier:

125 yards, 2 TDs, 3 REC for 20 yards.

Glad my team was strong enough to take a gamble and hold him. He could pay off for us CJ owners 2nd half of the season.

And we get things going week 9, gonna be a sprint to the playoffs and on thru the end of the season. Was a really rough schedule early, Tennessee still a potential wWildcard threat, mixing in Greene so CJ is not abused. What a nice day for owners today.

agreed. finally feel good about drafting him.

Is anyone actually concerned about Shonne Greene taking carries away from CJ this year? Greene is going to get the goal line carries, sure, but there's absolutely no indication he's going to get a significant workload otherwise. Between the 5s he comes in when CJ needs a breather and that's it. Greene's being talked up as if he's going to get the better half of the timeshare moving forward..similar to the Ellington overtaking Mendenhall situation, which I find laughable tbh.

CJ goes down easy when hit at the line exactly how he always has. But he also looks like the fastest player on the field and gets through any hole lightning quick exactly like he always has.

There is no shame is being wrong about a player in the preseason. It happens. But to ignore facts that go against your initial projection and use shoddy analysis to make the situation fit your narrative is just...idk, unprofessional.

I think Greene will get 8-12 touches a game, and he is likely to get those goal line carries once they get inside the 2, but Johnson is still their only real game breaker on offense, and with a playoff spot a real possibility - given their schedule and the fact that they already have wins over the Chargers and Jets, two teams they could possibly fight it out for for that 2nd wild card - I am trusting that the coaching staff knows that feeding Johnson the ball gives their offense the best chance to succeed.

I agree with Ghost. If the coaching staff stuck with giving CJ 15-25 carries when he was only getting 40 yards a game, they sure aren't going to stop now that he's getting 100+.

Recently traded for CJ in dynasty, if anyone cares.

Gave D. Martin.

Got CJ and a 3rd.

I'm in playoff contention and needed someone to put me over the edge, hopefully. I think CJ could be that guy.

Man... D Martin. What a disappointment this season. I just had an owner in my league trade him as well. I think CJ was a good pick up if you're going for it this season.

Awful against the Jags, great against the Colts. This is Chris Johnson for ya. Consistency is not his thing, but his good weeks are reallllllly good.

Been starting him all year, and like I said previously in this thread... I'll take his 7-8 point floor, in exchange for these weeks where he wins the week for you.

Heck last week he almost had 80 total yards in a terrible game, although he also had a fumble.

People have been ragging on him all season and I have been waiting for nights like these.

3 quarters to go.

Exactly.

Nice piece of running, showing what he can do when he gets some blocking. Amazing how people dismiss his early tack record win he burst into the NFL.

From a draft value pov cj has been good, not including tonight. In my league he was the #12 RB but his value is nowhere near that. I've been trying to trade him to upgrade and he's burned so many guys that they don't want to touch him. After this week he'll likely be in the top 8 or 9 but doesn't have value near Reggie bush. If you have cj you just have to keep him and rioll with the up and down nature of his scoring. It's annoying because you know the talent is there but he just can't bring it every game. On a value basis he's still worth having though because he'll win you a few weeks on his own.
