Not necessarily bad either. Some folks get that scar tissue cleaned out, and their knee feels like a million bucks again. Not really worried about this at all. Not yet, anyway.
1.) Mort is often wrong and claims any message board rumor as "a source."2.) I've heard loose cartilage and scar tissue, so worst case scenario is clean it up and he's full go week 1.3.) I had cartilage cleaned out and had scar tissue. It felt like a major ##### at times. My physical therapist just told me to gently rub the tissue every day and eventually it would go away. It broke down after time. Of course, I wasn't a professional athlete who doesn't have the luxury of time when the season is coming up. Scar tissue is a natural response to surgery. It happens often. No need to worry unless we hear something different.
This is the thing. People are understandably anxious upon hearing this, though I think unnecessarily so. I'm not an orthopedic surgeon, though, I have consulted with several in the past regarding very issues, if we believe these reports. Seems very likely this is secondary to his February surgery, but a separate byproduct of the healing process gone a bit awry that's pretty natural. Scar tissue is not concerning, except that it has to be dealt with. Not like they're going to cut open his knee again. In fact, calling this scope a "surgery" feels to me akin to the "surgery" required to extract wisdom teeth. Unpleasant, unfortunate, uncomfortable for a brief amount of time, but...let's not put this on the same level as repair of an ACL, meniscus, etc. In fact, if this gives him symptom relief, this is great timing, and he should be up and running just fine. That's my hope, but it's also my expectation, until I hear otherwise.
