Drafting w/ CBSsportsline (1 Viewer)

Fantasy Folks,

My league's draft is coming up tomorrow and unfortunately two owners won't be in town to attend. I've read a few snippets here about how commissioners using CBSsportsline as their league manager have been able to hold the draft live while setting up an online draft for those who cannot attend. Ideally, I would input each player draft in person while those out of town will enter their own picks online.

Without having to sign in and out of different user names, is this possible?! Can the commissioner (or whoever is designated to input the live picks) input players, selected live, all on one webpage? Also, for those commissioners who have drafted online with CBS before, is there a pause button? I hope this isn't too confusing.

Any and all help is much appreciated. Drafting in T-minus 20 hours.

Thanks

 SD

So I take it you've done this before? Do all of the owners have to be logged in before the draft room is available? As for the time limit, I assume the limit itself is defined in the online draft once the commissioner logs in?

Weve done it for the last few years, it also inputs the rosters immediately and you can view the draft years afterward to see trends. In answer to your questions, -all owners do not have to be logged in for the draft to start. It starts at the exact date and time you specify.-the time limit is NOT set up in the draft room, it is set up beforehand in the league setup area.-there is a 'suspend draft' option in the draft room that pauses the draft. it can be immediately resumed afterwards.

I had to do this about a week ago. Make sure the Draft Robot is off and the commish can make the picks for the people who are not able to attend.

I will be attempting the same thing and while I was checking out the draft room today, I came across all kinds of problems this year using VISTA.

I couldn't even use the JAVA option of ranking players. It wouldn't allow the rank Active X add on even after I commanded the tool bar to install.

Any CBS users with VISTA have any suggestions?

Thanks

Hi--I went through this problem and was stressed for a while. There is a very simple solution. You need to download Java! It is likely that your Vista system does not have Java preloaded or it needs the most recent update. Please let me know if this works for you and good luck with your draft.

We've done ours this way a few times including this year. Log in as the commish and you have a dual setup, (computer and draft board). Guys at the draft put their picks on the draft board and you enter them on computer in the draft room. The guys online follow along and make their picks online. Someone at the draft then puts their picks up on the draft board. You can pause the draft and even backup and erase picks if you mess up.

Thanks! That was it! I never even thought of that.

I did this exact thing a couple weeks back on CBS. No issues. No timer was set for each pick and the two folks that were online were able to make their picks while I inputted the rest of the "live" picks.

just a bit of clarification. if I leave a time limit to say 2 mins per pick, but turn draft robot off. what will happen once the time runs out?
