when you start paying Marshall you know what you get. Or you can pay some idiotic bonus to Craby and HOPE he can be something like Marshall. And since both are jerks, it doesnt really matter, that cancels itself out.But lets face it, if Cutler was traded, and you now have Orton and then lets assume Colt McCoy, the OU QB or even Tim Tedbow, or someone who needs to "grow" into a pro, you are talking 3 years of crap at QB, not nice if you are a star potential WR. And since Cutler demanded and got traded, why wouldnt I want that too, get out of Denver ASAP. they cut ties with Shanahan, cutler and winning IMO.Trap Play said:Why trade one ##### bag for another?steelcityman said:49ers? Right. And it had numerous reports of people confirming he is not at practice, saying McDaniels wouldn't confirm where he is, and speculating trade. The Denver Post also confirmed he was not at practice today and that they did not know his where abouts.urbanhack said:JMJ said:http://twitter.com/#search?q=brandon%20marshallurbanhack said:XWho on Twitter?JMJ said:David Yudkin said:So where is the rumor coming from exactly? All that does is search for the words "Brandon Marshall."

Also, I put the word RUMOR in all capital letters in the title of the thread. What do you want? A text message from Brandon himself? That is what a freaking rumor is.
This is an overreaction in my humble opinion. T.O. is the living, breathing definition of a petulant WR with off-field issues ... and the dude went for 1200 yards and 13 TDs in a season in which he overdosed in what many thought was a suicide attempt. I'm not saying that Marshall is at TO-level talent, but if you can ball, then you can ball. He's not a top ten guy, but late teens sounds about right. Again, just my opinion, but I think you're better off giving Marshall a go than playing it safe with the type of guys ranked in the 20s- your Hines Ward, Jerrico Cotchery, Santana Moss types. Those guys won't lose a title for you, but they won't win one either. His ADP of 39 is obviously way too high, but if you're in a league full of FBGs taking their cues from Dodds and company, and he slips to the fifth or sixth round as a result, he's worth a roll of the dice.Couch Potato said:Anybody who hasn't already downgraded him SIGNIFICANTLY with the loss of Cutler, the attitude, the immaturity, the lack of effort, the off field issues (the next one meaining a big suspension), the not bothering to learn the playbook, the hip, the hammy... anyone not already dropping him out of the top 20 WRs has been burying his head in the sand. The guy is radioactive, and I wouldn't touch him in any league anywhere near his current ADP.eoMMan said:Assuming he does go to the Jets or the Ravens....you have to downgrade him, right?
You did good. With all that's been going on with the big BM, not showing up at practice AND THE TEAM BEING UNWILLING TO COMMENT is newsworthy. If it was just resting an injury they would have said so. They are either about to suspend him or deal him. So it's a big deal. Good for you for starting the thread.Right. Yeah, FBG news speculates about a trade too.Do you have anyone else with this rumor other than yourself?
Post the link to the Denver post.
Our view: All is quiet on the Brandon Marshall front. The team is not commenting, and the local media is basically in the dark right now. Could be nothing, could be a trade in the works, we'll just have to wait and see. Right now we'd say the Jets would be the team most likely to be cooking up a deal for Marshall.
It is not MY rumor. People on Twitter were speculating it when the Denver Post confirmed that Marshall was not at practice and that McDaniels would not comment on where he was.I just posted it here.Do you have anyone else with this rumor other than yourself?

Cutler also has a cannon, yet Marshall only scored 13 TDs in the last two seasons. I am not sure even sure his yardage and catches would be that high simply because the Ravens love to run the ball and play defense. Sure, adding a playmaker at WR would make them take more chances, but I don't see them changing their entire team or offensive philosophy because of one player, and a player who I might add who could do something stupid tomorrow resulting in a lengthy suspension.Max Power said:I would upgrade him on the Ravens. From right here in this thread:http://www.denverpost.com/broncos/ci_13216251I cant seem to find a link anywhere confirming he is not at practice.
Plenty of teams have run first mindset but have a WR put up top numbers. Last year Steve smith, Roddy White and Antonio Bryant were top 10 receivers on teams that ran first.eoMMan said:I was thinking more along the lines of the offense. The Ravens are more of a run the ball, pass control offense and the Broncos like to air it out (assuming it doesn't change much with the new coach).shader said:From Kyle Orton to Joe Flacco would be a downgrade?eoMMan said:Assuming he does go to the Jets or the Ravens....you have to downgrade him, right?

ENGLEWOOD - Broncos receiver Brandon Marshall was not present at the start of the team's practice on Thursday afternoon. No reason has been given by the team for his absence.
Marshall has expressed on many occasions he is not happy with the team. He did practice Wednesday, presumably making it through the entire session. He walked off the field with the rest of the team Wednesday and declined an interview request.
Marshall said last week he doesn't know the playbook, and was held out of the second preseason game. Broncos coach Josh McDaniels wouldn't commit to Marshall playing in Sunday's preseason game against Chicago. Marshall also missed time during training camp with a hamstring injury. He has not played in the preseason.
I haven't heard the Rams are interested, but it certainly would help out their poor WR corps.Anyone hear if the Rams are interested in Marshall?![]()
Derrick Mason had 80 receptions last year and that's a lot for a guy his age. The potential exists for Marshall in that offense. Mason is a glorified possession receiver at this stage of his career.Cutler also has a cannon, yet Marshall only scored 13 TDs in the last two seasons. I think after Elway retired they should have "Purple sheeted" it.At what point do Bronco fans just kill themselves?
The local sports radio hack said at about 6:15 this morning that the Bucs were involved in Marshall trade offers, and it included a "high draft pick" and most likely McCown.I blew it off, but hearing this makes it interesting.
Now that would be an ugly fantasy matchETA: why trade for McCown when there is a very good chance the guy will be cut?Huh? Awesome. So we could potentially be talking about Orton, Simms, McCown throwing to Royal, Stokely and Gaffney. This better be a helluva system McDaniels has brought over.Would be a big shock to me. Bryant, Marshall and Winslow are too many lunatics for one locker room. I'm sure the Bucs made a call, but I wouldn't consider them even likely to pull this off.The local sports radio hack said at about 6:15 this morning that the Bucs were involved in Marshall trade offers, and it included a "high draft pick" and most likely McCown.I blew it off, but hearing this makes it interesting. Now that would be an ugly fantasy match
with simms injured, this could make some sense. either way, this team is going nowhere. The local sports radio hack said at about 6:15 this morning that the Bucs were involved in Marshall trade offers, and it included a "high draft pick" and most likely McCown.I blew it off, but hearing this makes it interesting.
They have Mason, who is a solid possession receiver, and just about nothing else, which is why you want to make this trade. But you don't completely change your offensive philosophy two weeks before the season starts. Having Marshall could open up the passing game, but they don't suddenly turn in to the Saints, chucking the ball down the field 600 times. The Bears gave up two firsts for Cutler. That doesn't mean they are a passing team now. They are probably going to be more balanced, which is what I would guess would happen to the Ravens. I think Marshall has the chance for more targets with the Broncos. The Broncos have a hideous defense, which means they will be playing from behind a lot. The Ravens have one of the best. They will be much more conservative than the Broncos, IMO.saintfool said:you don't make a play for a #1 WR like Marshall to remain a "primarily running team". the cost for this kind of deal - to the Broncos and the new contract to Marshall - would seem to support a shift in philosophy.twistd said:It is so hard to say. He is definitely a top 10 talent. He has injury problems. I thought his ADP was lower than it is. He is being drafted as WR #14 and overall pick 39, so he is early fourth round in a 12 team league. That is according to the consensus ADP on FBG. I think even that is too high. If he goes to another team he has to start over learning the playbook. If he goes to the Jets he will have a rookie throwing to him. IF he goes to the Ravens they are primarily a running team. So all things considered I think you are right, you have to downgrade him. But I think his current ADP is far too high considering the issues.eoMMan said:Assuming he does go to the Jets or the Ravens....you have to downgrade him, right?

I doubt McCown gets cut. He seems to have some trade value (as in 5th-rd pick trade value). Apparently the Jags called about him as well. The local sports radio hack said at about 6:15 this morning that the Bucs were involved in Marshall trade offers, and it included a "high draft pick" and most likely McCown.I blew it off, but hearing this makes it interesting. Now that would be an ugly fantasy matchETA: why trade for McCown when there is a very good chance the guy will be cut?
front 7, QB (but that's not realistic at this point), WR if Marshall is dealtIf your Denver what is the position that they would need to upgrade that is realistic.

That would make for one heck of a young corps of players on the Jets O. Marshall, Washington, Greene, Keller, Cotchery Sanchez, DBrick, and Mangold.Damien Woody, RT of the Jets just posted this on his Twitterdamienwoody: To Jet Nation, i got one word, BELIEVE!! There's a quiet storm brewing...Would be f'n sweat if Marshall landed in NY! Just keep him out of the nightclubs.

There are two major problems with this. The Bears aren't going to pay Marshall what he wants considering the off the field issues. And the Bears have nothing to give up. The Broncos aren't going to accept a first round pick in 2011. As a Bear fan I don't want him. He is a head case. He reports, but then dogs it, and disrupts the training camp. If you don't want to be there then stay away. I think he is too expensive, both in compensation that you would have to give the Broncos, and the guaranteed money you would have to give him in a contract.Buffaloes said:It does if you believe Denver would openly invite a PR nightmare by reuniting Marshall with his buddy Cutler in Chicago.
