We did the no kids thing for our wedding a couple of years ago and got to see how inconsiderate we were for not allowing kids first hand. We did a destination wedding and had a very limited reception, like 50 people. Our invitations said no kids which only would have affected a few of our friends. Well my wife's only cousin, who actually lives about an hour drive away from where we got married, was one of a couple of people who could drive in and out for the ceremony/reception. She called my wife one week before the wedding (after final guarantee) and said that her husband couldn't make it because they couldn't find a babysitter. Mind you his entire family, which is a very big family, all live near them there and we sent the invitations out at least two months in advance. After telling my wife the news, she paused on the phone, expecting my wife to say okay you can bring him since we had put them in such a bind without any options for babysitting due to our last minute request (he was like 3 years old and she obsesses over everything he does). My wife said, that's too bad and said bye, to the shock of her cousin. I think their wedding present was a $25 Olive Garden gift card though, so that was nice...

Exactly. That's why it's sad.
