FBG Subscriber Playoff Contest (1 Viewer)

Will there be one this year? This may be a premature question since the playoff spots haven't been finalized yet, but figured I'd ask anyway. Thanks

I got too cute on the regular season one and got eliminated early. Would love another shot. Thanks for all the subscriber contests, one thing that keeps me coming back.

I got bounced from the final 250 by 6 points and would be in 39th place right now if I made it through. No...it doesn't sting at all.

yeah, that hurts worse than my own dumb self thinking I am smart. I don't even remember who I had.

Surely, the FBG staff must realize, by now, that most entrants need at least 2 full weeks to modify their entries over one thousand times before the cutoff!

Absolutely need a few weeks to agonize over the rosters. Hoping they add Randy Moss to the list because a playoff team was obviously waiting to sign him till the last minute.

You expected anything less BnB?
This is brutal. Cap values are way up this year. Last year the cut was 92.75 with almost 6900 entires. I'd expect entires to be down this year due to fewer subscribers. Cap values should reduce the cut some too. I'm going to target 80 pts for my first round number. If you think form will hold true and you take the top QB/RB/WR/TE/K/D from the Packers and Pats, you would only have $13 to spend to get points in week 1 and still wouldn't have roster Nelson or Hernadez.

Definitely requires more thought than the 35k contest. You need points in the first round but are likely chosing players that won't help you in later rounds.

I like it!

You basically need to correctly pick the team that's going to win the Superbowl in order to win this. And since this year's Superbowl winning team is going to be a wild card team, this seems easy to me.

Edit: Nevermind, this isnt easy at all.

The price of the players is way too high. Whoever wins this one is going to be lucky & just make a cut by a few points, then probably have a monster super bowl.

This is much harder than last year.

Looking at last year's winning entries, they basically correctly picked the 2 superbowl teams and stacked players from them, picking 2-3 from other teams to advance early. This year, unless you think it's going to be a Denver/New York superbowl, you simply cant do that. By the time you've picked your superbowl players, you have no cap room for the smattering of players from other teams.

The Broncos/Lions Super Bowl makes this easy.

If the prices were lower, they'd be lower for everyone. It's a fair playing field.
I think the higher prices limit the strategic element of this. Especially this year, where there is a huge gap between the top playoff teams and the lower ones, pretty much forcing you to take high priced guys unless you really think teams like Denver or Atlanta are going to pose a threat and go deep into the playoffs.

not even close to being a correct. :lmao: I did not have a hard time at all getting solid players to go with my SB team picks.

If the Saints & Pats make the SB, this entry wouldn't win it all...

I know. I just sorted it by team, and the only shot it would have to win it all would be if it was a Den/SF superbowl, and even then neither QB is on the squad. I wish there were cheaper Pats and Saints.

Drew Brees has a pedestrian game and your toast in the first round unless, of course, there weren't at least 4,000 entries.

I have figured out a fool-proof strategy.

Of course, if I advance, I most likely won't have a kicker, defense or decent RB helping me in any way, shape or form.

I haven't once added a kicker or defense to any of my teams and I dont know how I feel about it.
