I didn’t check so hopefully this wasn’t the Rihanna song drafted. I saw two beautiful tulips growing out a crack of a dirty old parking lot today and immediately thought of this song.
Yeah that had to be early early rounds. Love the choiceI drafted Only Girl (In The World). I think yr safe.
It's weird that a video of one family's vacation snapshots has over a million YouTube views.
Was just listening to Hit 'Em Up earlier today 'cause I wanted to listen to that scorched ####### earth outro after hearing some variation of "f ______ as a staff, record label and as a m************ crew".Not the Hit’Em Up I’m familiar with
Man. No words, just...That's terrible. Vent away, man. Hope we help in whatever measure possible. Outta bourbon here, but I'll have a drink too.So my coworker and really my mentor at work has Guillain Barre. It’s a very extreme neurological and autoimmune disorder. Basically Friday she was at work and fine. When I came into work Monday I found out she is in ICU on breathing machines because she no longer can control muscles in her body- even her lungs aren’t working. There’s probably a 5-10% chance she will just die. If she lives, it sounds like it will take a year or 2 of PT to learn to walk, eat, talk, etc, Freaking sucks. She’s single with no kids but her best friend was her dog. She had it trained as a service dog. They went to the hospitals and hospice together weekly and basically did everything together. That last weekend in April she came out and found her dog almost unable to move and in a ton of pain. Her dog apparently had some undetected cancer and had to be put down. Then this horrible disorder strikes her a week later. Her best friend and dog who brought so much joy to ailing people (including my dad when he broke his hip) isn’t even there to comfort her owner. I’m just a freaking mess over this.
So once I’m done with my coffee, ill likely have some bourbon and post some sad songs here. Sorry to be a downer. But also thanks for a place to escape or even help deal with the stress of “real life”.
Thanks, not sure I have much to say beyond that. I just feel so bad for her. She’s just a nice person who gave so much to the kids at school and her family and the strangers who she met with her dog. It’s just so unfair.Man. No words, just...That's terrible. Vent away, man. Hope we help in whatever measure possible. Outta bourbon here, but I'll have a drink too.
That sucks.A heart attack or car accident for whatever reason would be so much easier to understand - maybe because it’s so much more common. But Gillian Barre? It’s this super rare thing and for someone to get it and then a day later basically be paralyzed and fighting for their life is insane. From my basic understanding is that she had a virus and was sick a couple weeks ago and from this her brain got mixed up and thinks her whole body is an invading virus and her immune system is waging war on her entire body. WTF.
Thanks, I knew I heard of it somewhere before. Though from my reading, it doesn’t sound like he was ever in ICU on life support. He had weakness and neck pain. I’m not an expert obviously but from what the internet says, the outcomes are scary when it reaches the stage she is at. Also it did say if one is over 40 when they get it, insignificantly reduces outcomes. She’s in her mid 40s. I do think there’s a very good chance she ultimately recovers but it sounds like that could take a year or 2 of intense physical therapy. On top of that, I don’t think her mental state is great due to the loss of her dog who really was her best friend. She obsessed over her dog like a child. I’m trying to be hopeful but idkThat sucks.
isnt that what Travis Frederick has though and he seemed to be able to get it under control? Hope it all works out.
McDonald works for Spotify as a data scientist/genre taxonomist@EveryNoise · glenn mcdonald
Every Noise at Once is an ongoing attempt at an algorithmically-generated, readability-adjusted scatter-plot of the musical genre-space, based on data tracked and analyzed for 3,012 genres by Spotify as of 2019-05-08. The calibration is fuzzy, but in general down is more organic, up is more mechanical and electric; left is denser and more atmospheric, right is spikier and bouncier.

Thanks man- also that’s awesome you are able to help those kids out. You seem like a good manDamn. Sorry to hear about your mentor.
I have taken care of a few kids over the years with GBS, all in residency because they required an ICU. It's pretty rare in general pediatrics.
It is an autoimmune disease in which your own immune system that is responding to an infection of some sort instead attacks your own nervous system, causing paralysis. I'm not sure about the prognosis for adults but I hope she recovers quickly.
I like everything about this and will try not to abuse it.***FRIDAY'S CATEGORIES WILL BE ARCADE FIRE AND CHILLWAVE***
With the original draft basically officially over, I'm also instituting these rules as well:
----
From 9 PM Eastern every night until 9 AM the following morning, the theme is "There is a Spotlight That Never Goes Out"
- Everyone can post unlimited picks/songs (try to still align with categories for playlist purposes)
- Turn the spotlight on. Highlight all the songs in all the categories by all the bands that were missed.
- Intoxicating substances encouraged.
-----
As penance for hijacking the end of the draft, I also intend on taking over updating the Google Doc and playlists, including all picks not entered so far (but this may happen tomorrow, not tonight depending on the).
I can't even.Same. It’s been a rough week.
Cue half a day of scrambling up and down the attic ladder with plastic, caulk, flashlights, cordless drills, hammers, you name it.
During which I will attempt to make some sort of headway against the six or however many rounds I'm in the hole here. Let's let 'er rip! If I'm online, I'll roll random dice to keep things official.***FRIDAY'S CATEGORIES WILL BE ARCADE FIRE AND CHILLWAVE***

Yes. Plasma exchange has proven to be effective for many GBS patients:@The Dreaded Marco
shes getting some kind of plasma transfusion. Do you know anything about that? Good sign? Bad sign? Neither?
Are you replacing it because you first choice wasn’t on Spotify? If so this one isn’t either.Guess I gotta start out by replacing my Jay-Z selection. Gotta go to his masterpiece album The Blueprint ... I'm hoping this one is a live link - can someone confirm?
11.01b - Jay-Z - "Izzo" (H.O.V.A.) (2001)

Also sorry to hear about that ####ty week. Sounds like your bourbon will be tasting quite nice tonight. I started out a perfect manhattan with Bulleit Rye. Might do straight Blantons later.
I'm basically the last living Gen-X or younger American without a Spotify account, so I'm just guessing with these. You able to find something equally kick-### of his that actually is? I trust y'all.None of Jay's stuff with he's the named artist. The "This is Jay-Z" playlist is a bunch of guest spots. Is any jay z on Spotify? Is it all on tidal?
This on the other hand is on SpotifyFair warning - I'm not doing this in anything resembling proper round order. More like as and when they occur to me.
Feel like I need to build on the country playlist a wee bit. Even though I listen to virtually no country, this one's close enough to rock and is irreverent enough that it's always been a guilty pleasure for me.
Genre: Country
20.09 - Big & Rich - "Save a Horse (Ride a Cowboy)" (2005)
Nice. Here's one for covering the sadness and death and recognizing the anniversary of the passing of Scott Hutchison. @The Dreaded Marco broke the seal on them with my favourite song of theirs but this one really popped when I saw them live last year, just a couple months before his death.
Spotlight Hours - Things - Frightened Rabbit - Indie/Rock
Never need these things
I'll never need them, oh
It's just you I need
You're my human heat
For the things are only things
And nothing brings me like you bring me oh
) drove to Boise from Salt Lake City to see them on a Friday night and then back to SLC to see them again on Saturday night. I was in the balcony but she was on the rail both nights. After the SLC show she said, "these guys are obviously Dad Rock. But they're my favorite band".
Jay Z mostly is on there because he is a part owner of some other service. He’s damn near the only holdout left. How about this when Lil Wayne got Carter on the CarterI'm basically the last living Gen-X or younger American without a Spotify account, so I'm just guessing with these. I missed this before ... really sorry to hear this, '80s. Puts the stupid #### I was #####ing about in perspective as, well, stupid ####.
