How often do you wear cologne?

I use it regularly. When you have the right one for your body chemistry it just works.

One to two sprays after a shower before work is all I need.

Nautica Voyage
Azzaro Chrome

Both have been my go to colognes for 15 years now.

A few times a year for fancier "events", not typical date or party nights.

I mentioned I. The other thread, I have the same bottle of cologne (Romeo Gigli) I bought in my 20s.

I wonder if anybody else used sample sheets pulled from magazines?

I'm a regular user.

Le Labo Santal 33 is my go to. I think it smells nice and I regularly get compliments from my wife on it.

Sort of surprisingly, I regularly get "Wow, you smell nice" comments from people in public. Sometimes strangers. So that's a win.

After every shower. I have 4 i rotate through depending on setting and my mood.
I have 2 regular everyday ones that are pretty light and really just smell clean. And then a couple others that more for fall, winter, date night, dressed up kind of stuff.

My ex-wife had a gay uncle who married a famous hair dresser in Hawaii that used to book a bunch of clients who flew in from Japan to get their hair done by him - "Aunt Milton" we called him. Prince of a man. The two of them used to send me cologne for Xmas. Never knew what they were but loved their choices. That was one thing I lost in the divorce that I miss. Haven't had cologne since those ran out.

I wonder how much of this is a regional thing. I don't know of anybody that really wears it around our area (central coast of CA).

We are true metro sexual’s Karma.

We have another for the gang.

I know some have mentioned, it but this is interesting to me. For the guys that don't like it, is that you don't like the way the one you tried smells?

Would you like it if you liked the way it smells? So maybe it's that you haven't found one you like?

Or is it a thing where you think it's dumb or not manly or something else?

Not since the 80's. Nobody wants to smell that stuff now.
Women disagree with you. They really do. Yes if you are putting on 10 sprays of English Leather than sure you smell horrible. But 1-2 liight sprays of a nice cologne and women will be absolutely like it.
Maybe if you're outdoors and they're not downwind from you. In any enclosed space, the vast majority, including women, doesn’t want to be around it.

Again, you are doing it wrong then. As 80s said in a post, you really shouldn't smell it unless you are getting into your personal space. If people can smell it downwind or from 10' away, you are doing it wrong.

Alright. Enjoy your fondue.

Never. I'm super-sensitive and it's a migraine trigger, even in small doses. The wife got our son a bottle of some relatively nice cologne for xmas. He put a light amount on and I couldn't sit next to him on the couch to watch football even a few hours later. Not to mention, too many folks just bathe themselves in it - people that if I see them going through my office building's security in front of me, I have to hang back and let the cloud dissipate. Even worse, there's a woman in our social circle that does the patchouli thing. I wonder if she ever notices that I leave the room whenever she enters...

So yeah, glad you all can enjoy it in moderation, but none for me thanks.

I looked when I got home, and I guess I have 6. One was the solid I posted about, and the others are from HERE. I don't remember why I stumbled on the site, but I really like these.

When I was doing corporate AV work, I had a solo gig and the client sent a nice thank-you letter to the company, complimenting me on the job. At the end she wrote, "and he smelled really nice too!"
I've never worn cologne.

The next poll/thread should be for those who don't wear cologne, what soap and deodorant are you using?

As I said elsewhere, many of those are just as smelly/overpowering as a cologne can be. I use cologne, but I use a non-scented deodorant. IMO it is a similar outcome to having no cologne + something like an Old Spice deodorant. I just like the was this smells better, and it's not as common.

I use Dove sensitive skin deodorant and Dove men’s body wash. No scent clearly described on containers, but Google tells me they have a “woody” scent.

I get your case and others like it. I am surprised because my wife has asthma and doesn't like a lot of smells and they can set her off, but that doesn't seem to apply to my combos. Seems others are even more scent sensitive than she is as well.

I guess for the discussion I just don't see the difference between scented body washes, deodorants, and after shaves compared to cologne. That is where my confusion about the overly negative sentiments about cologne come from.

Just not needed for me. I remember one time a lady at PT asked me what cologne I had on. Told her Right guard, cool breeze.

Not since I was in high school in the 80's.

Also, as stated above, it would be a migraine trigger for my wife.

In addition to smell sensitivity, my skin is sensitive too. I used to use Old Spice deodorant, but that set my skin off, which is why use the sensitive. After shave sets my skin off too; so, I just apply some scent-free face lotion after shaving. My skin would probably be the same with cologne; I could probably find one without irritants if I really wanted to, but I don’t care that much to do some trial and error to find one.

And my smell sensitivity is about me as much as others. If I put cologne or something with a strong smell on me, I just can’t even stand it myself. I bought some hold cream for my hair recently that reviews said had a nice and not overwhelming smell, but it just makes me want to get in the shower to get rid of the smell. I suppose I’m just used to whatever scents my body wash and deodorants have by this point.

I don’t think it’s dumb or unmanly. For me, it just feels unnecessary. Early on in my relationship with my now wife, she indicated that she didn’t like cologne so I haven’t worn it since.

Also, if I’m in public and can smell a stranger, even if it is cologne or perfume, I generally have a reflexively negative reaction. That probably plays into it as well. Now my wife does wear perfume but I can only smell it when I get REALLY close. And I enjoy that because the I relate that smell with VERY positive things.

I ride in an elevator every day at work. Smelling cologne or perfume in that context generally triggers a negative reaction from me. Not sure why.

Because it's inconsiderate, especially in an office environment.

I'm just guessing, but I think there's chemicals that are often in colognes that aren't in your average soaps or deodorants. My wife wears some lighter perfumes, but she stays away from florals because they are major triggers. For colognes, it's anything musky or sharp.

I use a body wash that's generally some sort of "ocean" smell and a similarly scented Arid anti-perspirant. The old spice soap that my son used to use could give me an issue every now and again but it wore off a lot more quickly than a cologne.
