It went down for a bit, you may have to load it in another page. But the Atlantic County feed is back up.did the feed die? I went out to pick up my daughter from school and came back to a feed that won't play.Audio feed is definitely more "Frantic" than before lunch.
They are apparently shuttling "Dump truck loads" of people to the firehouse now

880 AM710 WOR usually has pretty good local coverage. Perhaps 1130 AM bloomberg news radio or even 660 AM but thats largely sports radio but if things get dicey go there.

It's frigging frightening. When Charley came through in 2004, when the northern eyewall passed right over where I was living, we got 100 MPH sustained winds, sounded like lions roaring. My wife almost #### herself. Windows were rattling, a tree fell and missed our screened porch by 2 feet, another fell in the spot I was parked in right before I thought better of parking under a tree and moved to an auxiliary lot a few hundred yards away from my condo and walked back. Patted myself on the back for exercising common sense for a change on that one.

I think the reaction to this storm is pretty ridiculous for most people, but a cat 2 is 100mph winds which is twice what i'm experiencing today. Some co-workers and I were watching that at lunch talking about the guy drinking beer(not shown in your link), standing with the guy in the kayak, while their buddy rides up on a bike, then we saw the scuba diver pop up. They interviewed the diver but unfortunately the sound wasn't on at the restaraunt.What an idiot looks like: Dude in scuba gear in middle of flooded road (10 second mark).

I don't. Have you seen pictures of LBI, Ocean City, Atlantic City or some of NY. I'd say those conditions are life threatening and to call that an overreaction "ridiculous" sounds pretty shallow as emergency workers are continuing to put their lives on the line to do rescue missions. I would think an overreaction would be what you'd want. The thing is, aside from low lying coastal areas this is little more than a game of "house arrest" for 48-72 hours. Hang out...read a book. Drink a few beers. Listen to the wind and rain knowing that 99.99999999999% chance this is little more than an inconvenience.
IMO hurricanes are fun if there's no real risk of flooding.
