hey guys what are the best radio stations to tune into in NYC when power goes out? other than 1010wins.
ok, this answered my question from earlier.Me too!kicked off the AC station
Pick one up at Toshi StationWouldn't you need a power inverter? It will.I'm almost sure i read somewhere that this will work.Anyone ever tried a marine battery on a sump pump? Wondering if this works.
Worse to come in the next 2-5 hours, once it hits landHonestly if I wasn't going to lose power for a few days, this wouldn't be so bad.![]()
Agree completely. No offense intended.Alright take this elsewhere. I love and supported NOLA through K, it deserves to stand as does NYC. Come on now.New York is a great, unique city.So is New Orleans. The fact that people can't see that is sad.NOLA > NYC IMONo. NYC has redeeming qualities. If New York gets hammered by storm surge, are we going to see threads about how a city shouldn't be built that's so vulnerable to hurricanes/storm surge??
I didn't think you did. Most cities are on water, thats what makes them significant cities, so this is the risk they all run. Just hoping for the best for everyone here.Me too , just constant....i gotta admit, my ###### is pretty puckered due to this wind. much windier than irene.
It went down for a bit, you may have to load it in another page. But the Atlantic County feed is back up.did the feed die? I went out to pick up my daughter from school and came back to a feed that won't play.Audio feed is definitely more "Frantic" than before lunch.
They are apparently shuttling "Dump truck loads" of people to the firehouse now![]()
Dumptruck: MVP Of Hurricane Sandy 2012
I would say that NOLA only > Carolina at this point, but Carolina is 1-0 vs NOLA this season. So,You must have missed the Saints game last night.NOLA > NYC IMONo. NYC has redeeming qualities. If New York gets hammered by storm surge, are we going to see threads about how a city shouldn't be built that's so vulnerable to hurricanes/storm surge??

880 AM710 WOR usually has pretty good local coverage. Perhaps 1130 AM bloomberg news radio or even 660 AM but thats largely sports radio but if things get dicey go there.hey guys what are the best radio stations to tune into in NYC when power goes out? other than 1010wins.
I've been in Afghanistan, a category 2 hurricane isn't that terrifying. It's really more of an inconvenience for me but for guys like Otis it's the end of the world.Worse to come in the next 2-5 hours, once it hits landHonestly if I wasn't going to lose power for a few days, this wouldn't be so bad.![]()

It's frigging frightening. When Charley came through in 2004, when the northern eyewall passed right over where I was living, we got 100 MPH sustained winds, sounded like lions roaring. My wife almost #### herself. Windows were rattling, a tree fell and missed our screened porch by 2 feet, another fell in the spot I was parked in right before I thought better of parking under a tree and moved to an auxiliary lot a few hundred yards away from my condo and walked back. Patted myself on the back for exercising common sense for a change on that one.i gotta admit, my ###### is pretty puckered due to this wind. much windier than irene.
Inlaws just reported 18" of snow... whoa. It's snowing in WVa and SW Va. More on the wayA few days back they were talking that there might be snow involved with this system, I haven't heard any mention of that for the past couple days, is that no longer part of the scenario?
It's like you read those very words in my daily journal.I've been in Afghanistan, a category 2 hurricane isn't that terrifying. I liked the passage about making sure your Pam Anderson Playboys were taken to higher ground. It's like you read those very words in my daily journal.I've been in Afghanistan, a category 2 hurricane isn't that terrifying. I think the reaction to this storm is pretty ridiculous for most people, but a cat 2 is 100mph winds which is twice what i'm experiencing today. That's a lot of wind.I've been in Afghanistan, a category 2 hurricane isn't that terrifying. Some co-workers and I were watching that at lunch talking about the guy drinking beer(not shown in your link), standing with the guy in the kayak, while their buddy rides up on a bike, then we saw the scuba diver pop up. They interviewed the diver but unfortunately the sound wasn't on at the restaraunt. What an idiot looks like: Dude in scuba gear in middle of flooded road (10 second mark).![]()
2:30 EST Tarp Update
ALERT ALERT THE TARP HAS BEEN BREACHED. AGAIN THE TARP HAS BEEN BREACHED. RIDING MOWER EXPOSED!!!!!!!!
thoprawishes.I don't. Have you seen pictures of LBI, Ocean City, Atlantic City or some of NY. I'd say those conditions are life threatening and to call that an overreaction "ridiculous" sounds pretty shallow as emergency workers are continuing to put their lives on the line to do rescue missions. I would think an overreaction would be what you'd want. Better to be safe than sorry.I think the reaction to this storm is pretty ridiculous for most people, but a cat 2 is 100mph winds which is twice what i'm experiencing today. It's serious business, no doubt. But there is no reason for panic (not saying anyone here is doing that). It is what it is, if you aren't homeless you'll probably be fine on Thursday.I think the reaction to this storm is pretty ridiculous for most people, but a cat 2 is 100mph winds which is twice what i'm experiencing today. channel?
You, too. I think I'll start with the Jack while I still have ice and save the Maker's Mark for after the power goes out.2000 feet and above could get up to 12". I'm below that and, as you say, east of the 3rd ridge. But temps are supposed to drop in the 30s down at my elevation so wouldn't be shocked to see some snow. I don't think it can stick to the ground but maybe the leaves.Bunker down, gbWhen I last saw the map, I wondered about your area. It looks like the mountains on the western side of the valley are gonna get it.Daggone thing is breaking west towards northern Maryland, where I am, and south central Pa. Don't like this at all.Blizzard warning, High wind warning, and flood warning for my county in VA

I prefer ABC Philly and she really doesn't add much insight but it might be the last attractive women I see for a few days without internet and TV so I'll watch her til TV goes out.Nbc philly right nowchannel?
My goodness. Where's this? You can be specific, I know my way around those parts pretty well.Inlaws just reported 18" of snow... whoa. It's snowing in WVa and SW Va. More on the wayA few days back they were talking that there might be snow involved with this system, I haven't heard any mention of that for the past couple days, is that no longer part of the scenario?
It's a tower, and it's free. Easy mistake. How do these kinds of rumors start? Big difference here folks. That's not the freedom tower. It's some building up at 57th street.Freedom Tower crane has broken and is dangling over Manhattan
WOW. Smokin hot. Cristina Blackwell on Univision has some comp now.Nbc philly right nowchannel?
Where you surrounded by 8 million of your closest friends when you were in that Cat 2 storm? It's really the design of NY that makes this a PITA but you know that.I've been in Afghanistan, a category 2 hurricane isn't that terrifying. It's really more of an inconvenience for me but for guys like Otis it's the end of the world.Worse to come in the next 2-5 hours, once it hits landHonestly if I wasn't going to lose power for a few days, this wouldn't be so bad.![]()
