Kid gets kicked out of the football...... (1 Viewer)

Think about it guy.....

A senior in his last game,  has a younger brother in the game, he wants so badly to watch this game.  He MUST go to the locker room, why?  He can't hang around somewhere and watch his team play?
By rule, he is required to leave the viewing area of the field.  The officials will wait until this happens, or they see the coaching staff/security taking him.

The rule is

Rule 2 Article 12a. A disqualified player is one who is declared ineligible for further participation in the game.

12b. A disqualified player must leave the playing enclosure under the escort of team personnel before the next play after his disqualification.  He must remain out of the view of the field of play under team supervision for the duration of the game.

If he were to quit the team, he would still need to leave. If he stays on the sideline in the team area, he is still subject to the rules. Rule 1 Article 6 b.

Getting back to the topic.

We have a bunch of kids easily intimidated by the size of it all, they don't understand the rules or their rights.  They just go with what they are told out of ignorance. Just like boot camp where young guys are pushed around when a 30year old man would...."hold it a minute there Chief, do you get anything about the legalities involved with that?"

If some kid stood up for his rights because he knew them, hmmmm?
Is this an “Am I being detained” plot? Please let it be that?

Everyone knows they have to leave the field of play, that’s why that’s what’s always done.

Your question about is it planned for and would it be a clean situation? Hell no! It would be a ####### mess with players, coaches, officials and security increasingly getting frustrated as it elevates to them forcibly removing him from the field to the locker room.

It’s not that hard to envision. And surely not 4 pages of questions. The YouTube video of the player quitting, fighting with the team and coaches, and demanding to know whether he’s being detained by police would be absolute gold and garner 10 million hits. It would end with the cop yelling, “Yes, you are being detained!” as the player is dragged off the field to Bronx cheers.

Seen a lot of football but had never seen a situation where a kid simply refused to leave. And then acting as if he's some sort of criminals over a football game rule.....huh?  If the kid doesn't want to stay away from the field how can they legally force him to?

Love to see what would happen if a kid charged the NCAA with kidnapping.

Except it’s not kidnapping. He’d likely be arrested if it ever got that far. They can legally remove him because it’s in the rules.

You're talking in circles. The reason they don’t need to treat him like a criminal is because they leave semi-willingly because it’s the rule. Other factors pressure them to comply too.

The rules of the sport do hold up well in court.  Officials get sued all the time for things that happen on the field.  If the official is enforcing the rules they do not have liability.

The players have signed a bunch of paperwork to play NCAA sports, somewhere there is probably a line about following the NCAA rules of the game.

It's in the rules, no?

Or are they just making this #### up as they go along. Rhetorical. It's in the rules.

This has to be the worst schtick/most awful fishing thread this board has ever seen. I thought SWC had the worst schtick thing locked up, but this one may have given me an anuerysm.

He is allowed to watch them.......just not from the field of play.  He can go to the locker room and watch on TV.
Think about that.  A player must be put somewhere he doesn't want to be, how can they pull that off?  Yep, nobody  has challenged it.  How can anyone be told where they must stay over some game?  How can that be legal?

I have no doubts if a player made it very clear he wanted to leave, and was not allowed to the NCAA has a problem.  Big guy says he has friends in the stands and is going to go see them, how does anyone......you can't go....?

Man, just think if you directed your concern to an issue you could actually impact.  You could change the world for the better my friend.

I had never thought about this until a few days ago.  After watching a kid being taken off the field it hit me......why does he have to go way back there?  What if he wants to watch his team play being this is his senior season and those guys are his brothers.  I can't buy he can be treated like a criminal, told where he must go.  He must stay right here.

Kid's dad is lawyer he gives him a call......hmmm?

I'm just sorry that's what hit you.  A bus may have been more effective.
Dude, if this topic bothers you then leave it alone, ok?  I just get tired of watching kids being pushed around.

There is no way in hell I;m being told where I must go and stay there over some sport.  I have no doubts that cannot be done legally. If somebody challenged it watch what would happen.

LSU vs Texas A&M, what 7 OT's and that kid who got ejected in the first quarter must stay in a certain place all that time?  How can that be legal? The kid can't......look I;m tired, ok?  I;m going out to the bus alright? What....no you stay here?

Mom....my son is coming with me, got it?

Now what?

Bored with this now, finally.

Topic change.

I was around 8/9 years old sitting in the floor beside my granny in her rocker watching the wrestling, she loved it thought it was real and so did I at that age. While listening to her....he has his trunks ref, are you blind?.....I see something run across the floor,  something fast but not a mouse, some sort of bug.......I jump up and get an empty coffee can, managed to corner this thing and used a rolled up TV Guide to scoop this....thing...into the can.

What in the hell?  What is this thing?  I'd never seen this bug?  before.

Well when dad came home he knew what is was, he talked about seeing them before, just a lot bigger (what a scarey  thought because this thing was very scarey looking".

What was it?

About a month ago I saw my second one in the garage,  a smaller one, in my attempt to catch it, I mangled it, damn~~~~

The head on these thngs ...hideous.

That might be true in a meaningless bowl game, but would  that happened in Alabama vs Clemson?

Any scenario where we see the kid actually physically removed?
OK WTF you got to be trolling here. It's simple the dude was hit with a targeting penalty they reviewed it and it was targeting. Rules clearly state you get called for that you get DQ'd and have to LEAVE THE FIELD OF PLAY IMMEDIATELY or get penalized further. Yes that would happen tomorrow night too. I don't know the game or saw the play you are referring to but a lot of them are incidental and it sucks when it happened but if it was anywhere close to what UCF was doing in their game don't care if the kids a SR or not he's an idiot. Rules clearly state what happens in the situations.

But what happens if he is a 5th year senior and his 2nd cousin plays WR?

Trolling or actually wondering how a kid can be made to stay anywhere over a game.

Because it is the rule, and law enforcement can be called to help enforce it.  If further refusal, kid can be arrested for refusing to follow an officers orders.  Then he will be made to leave.  The charges might be dropped later, but depends on his actions.

Law involved over a holding penalty or pass interference, ha!!!!

Cops get a call.....hello cops this kid refuses to stay where I 'm telling him to stay, he got ejected from the game.

Come on man.

What has happened is these college kids just go along with it, nobody challenges it.
