Kid gets kicked out of the football...... (1 Viewer)

game, forget which one, and he's just standing there, pretty soon a coach/??? comes over to escort him off the field.  What if he didn't want to leave?  What if he wanted to watch the game from the bench or in the seats?  What now?

Kid can't hang around somewhere and watch his team play?

Kid is a senior, this in his last game, he can't......I just quit the team?

If I could stick my pen in my heart
And spill it all over the stage
Would it satisfy ya, would it slide on by ya
Would you think the boy is strange?
Ain't he strange?

Is this schtick or did I miss a news story that might help the first post make some sense?
Saw a player get ejected for targetting in one of the bowl games, at first he just hung around, then here came some guy making it clear he had to leave,  what if he'd....nope, not going?

I imagine his coach might have something to say as the 15 yard penalties begin to pile up and cost the team he apparently cares about to lose the game.

It's in the rules, no?

Or are they just making this #### up as they go along. Rhetorical. It's in the rules.

There are some very good arguments regarding how bad the targeting rule is, and is enforced.

This thread is not one of them.
Not actually talking about the targetting rule,  assumed that was obvious.  Saw a kid throw a punch he also had to leave the field.   Just curious what would hapen if a kid refused to leave, something I;ve never seen, how about you?

Now we're getting someplace.

What if the kid is a senior and quits the team right there on the spot?

In this scenario, all security at the field called in sick due to the flu? Otherwise I have to believe the answer is pretty obvious. They'd handle it the same as any other person in the stadium that has been ordered to leave and refuses. This isn't a very rare scenario. You just changed it from drunk fan to ejected player. End result would be the same.

He would get taken off the field by security. I’m not sure I understand what you getting at here.
I think he's saying that if the kids quit, head no longer be on the team, so couldn't rack up penaties.

So goofy, it just might work! What then, 80s....WHAT THEN?!

It's not complex, if some kid refuses to leave after being ejected what happens next?  I ;ve never seen it happen.
He would get escorted off by security. Same as if there was anyone on the field that did not belong and refused to leave.

He's still on the game roster, so even though he quit the team, he's still part of the game, and the game requires him to leave.

What if he started a poker game on the sidelines, but wore a funny costume? What then?
Depends on the school.

At BYU, there'd be outrage from the entire team and fans in the stands.

At most schools they'd probably just ignore him and not give him the attention he's looking for.

At Florida State, the QB and at least two defensive backs would buy into the poker game.

At Ohio State, half the assistant coaches would buy in to the poker game.

There are players on that roster no even in town.

If he quits the team why can't he hang around and watch the game?
Because the referees have the legal right to say he's trespassing. Even if it's a public stadium, the cops can remove him per the ref's request.

what if he only has one leg after his attempted targeting goes tragically wrong and when authorities come to remove him he objects on the basis of anti piracy laws because in the meantime he has sneakily quickly installed a wooden peg leg that has a secret compartment for a bottle of rum to prevent scurvy take that to the bank bromigos
