Marlon Mack, RB, DEN (1 Viewer)

He hit my wire in a week where I snagged Clement in waivers. 6 of one, 1/2 dozen of others? I think Clement may have more upside, but only slightly....

For those who do see Mack on the wire, who are you thinking of dropping for him?

Inquiring minds would like to know!!

I lost Ajayi & Kamara on bye has me thin at RB..  MM is available.  I traded for McCoy yesterday (pre-rumor) and might have to resort to a rookie R Freeman or Ro Jones at RB2.

Is MM > Smallwood this week?  Smallwood would be my drop....

Just nabbed him on the news he's scheduled to start and is at full speed. What could possibly go wrong? Nothing... the answer is nothing.

Just dropped Donte Moncrief for Mack in a Keep-6 league. Moncrief was my WR6 and the last man on my roster.

Marlon Mack might not do much, but he can at least battle it out for a bit with Alfred Morris and Ronald Jones at the bottom of my RB pile.

I drafted and held on to him in all three of my leagues. Bust so far but hoping for some return on the investment this weekend.

He's going to get a long look this game. He doesn't have to be great just better than the other RBs and he'll have a big role in this offense......

I wouldn't assume that to be true.  Reich ran an offense last year where he was playing all 3 RB's.  I think that is probably the likeliest scenario.

They love Mack.
Somebody here loves Mack.

Honestly, this offense won't generate a bell cow and I don;t see how Hines doesn't take away a good portion of the receptions.  Likely scenario is a frustrating RB2 that often shows up lower.

After seeing how bad Wilkins and Hines were in the preseason, I saw an easy path to top 15 production for Mack and traded for him in two leagues.  He didn't look 100% the first time he returned imo.  Hines' development in the passing game is a hindrance, but Mack adds some much needed playmaking ability to the offense.  I feel good about starting him against the Jets who have been fairly generous to RB's.  I think he should approach 100 total yards with the possibility of adding a TD.

Actually i don't. I just see an opportunity for RB1 usage. Betting on the situation. Mack is more JAG then anything.

Not sure about being a JAG.

he looked damn good when healthy last year. His problem seems to be staying healthy.

ive got to think this team wants him and a running game to emerge. Luck can’t keep throwing the ball 60 times.

Yeah, he's no JAG. Mack isn't a league winner but he's worth a roster spot in all leagues.
Wasn’t the GM quoted in preseason he expected 1400 + yards or something crazy?

I remember him last year being pretty powerful and quick with cuts in the hole.

Thinking of stashing.

I wasn’t able to watch, how’d he look?  Performed well from a stat line perspective, but that doesn’t always tell the whole story.  From a dynasty outlook, sell high or does Indy’s immense amount of needs elsewhere give him a leg up as next year’s RB1?

From the stats perspective he is 4 carries for 8 yards until NYJ got up big and played with a softer run defense.  So there really wasn;t much to see and to use as a prognostication

I took a flyer on Mack with the news that Lynch may have a more serious groin issue??? Dropped Beast Mode for Mack. Kinda risky, or not?

Mack is definitely on my bench. Ingram & K Johnson > Mack with Fournette out.

Edelman or Hilton > Mack in the Flex.

Perhaps Mack plays during a bye week, or he looks good enough to Flex.

Yeah his highlights looked great but looking at the play by play (I did not watch the game) it seems he was barely used until the score was 30-13. GULP. Im still rolling the dice with him at flex this week. I think Turbin got hurt too.

A quick look at snap counts and fantasy points suggests that most likely, Himes and Mack will both make the other guy no better than flex-worthy.

The two games they've both been active, each has gotten under 50% of the snaps.

W2 Himes 39% Mack 30% (Wilkins 39%)

W6 Himes 43% Mack 35% (Turbin 19%)

Fantasy points (Std)

W2 Himes 4.3 Mack 3.6

W6 Himes 3.5 Mack 9.3

Looks like a situation to avoid.

Where do you rank this guy this week? Be curious to know who people are starting Mack over around here.

I need upside. And I don't think A. Collins or J. Howard have it this week.

Man who this guy that makes these calls?

lol
It was a good call. If you paid attention to preseason there were a lot of signs pointing to the Colts wanted Mack to be really involved. I'm glad I got to buy low on him in some places. Here's hoping he stays healthy.

Indy @OAK next week.

Don't know how I don't start him. He's active in both the running and passing games.

Mack actually with more receptions than both the other RBs.

I have a lot of guys inquiring about him for a trade.. not sure I want to. what are you guys seeing as far as offers and what would it take for you to pull the trigger?

It depends on what you think of Mack.  If you think the Colts will be fine going into next year with Mack as their starter, then you shouldn't trade him now because he hasn't realized his full value.  If you think he is just a flash in the pan like a Ty Montgomery, then you take what you can get.  I personally think highly of Mack and traded for him before the season in two leagues.  Just before this weekend's games, I got an offer of Chase Edmunds and 3rd round rookie pick.  I think you hold for now.  He should have a good game Oakland and Jacksonville, Tennessee, Miami are not bad matchups either in the coming games.

The one thing I don't love about Mack is the schedule.

Have a bye after this OAK cupcake, then:

JAX, TN, MIA, @JAX, @HOU, DAL, NYG

Miami's run D is the only creampuff in there. And I've got to think JAX gets their heads out of their collective a$$'s soon.

Houston and Dallas are the only two I’d consider bad matchups. Jax, Tennessee, and NY are teams with mounting losses that tend to fold this time of year.
