I'll be eager to hear what you think. NYT review was pretty bad. :(

Hey at least you're u have a good sense of humor...chicks dig thatDoing this while simultaneously playing D&D on Roll20. I have reached zero Kelvin on the coolness scale.
I was like 30 before I realized Mick was on the back-up vocals.
I love all things Stax, but among Memphis soul instrumentals (or quasi instrumentals, I guess), I will forever stan Memphis Soul Stew by King Curtis.
What a troll job Carly played on Mick. She should have called Warren Beatty, too, to see if he could shake a tambourine or something.I was like 30 before I realized Mick was on the back-up vocals.

His version is my favorite. For some reason, I just love James Taylor's version of this.

I think I understand why you interpreted my joke as a "gripe" instead.Pray for me tonight. Drinking heavily (perhaps some of the weed) and then going axe throwing. Hopefully I still have all my digits to make my next pick.
It's the only time I've ever even heard the word gavotte. I had to look it up years ago to see what it was. I've always liked the song.BTW, reasonably sure this is the only song on the list with gavotte in the lyrics.
I think I did the extra e thing one too many timesI think I understand why you interpreted my joke as a "gripe" instead.![]()

Round 11
#418 - Green Onions by Booker T and the MGs

Thanks krista.
I like Stax better than Motown, but both are great. I like Stax a bit better, cause it is less polished, and had the best session players, and it has those horns!I love all things Stax, of course, so would have loved it on my roster (plus, onion soup!).
The Who run!11.04 My Generation -- The Who (#232, bloc 226-250)
This bloc is now also at 9 "no hesitation" picks, and this is the one that I am by far the highest on.
This was one of my first "favorite" songs, when I was 13 or so. I was drawn to the mayhem.

Wait. Is this in one of those places where it's a business where they have people in there to help and watch, or are you going into the woods with friends to throw axes at trees?Pray for me tonight. That is, indeed, a song.Reading this thread brings a song to mind.
Unanswered Prayers - Garth Brooks
Who’s Greatest Hits was the first cassette tape my older brother ever had and we wore that thing out. My favorite as a kid was Pinball Wizard but every track on there was a banger.11.04 My Generation -- The Who (#232, bloc 226-250)

It seems like a disaster. There is an axe/bar in Durham called Urban Axes. What can go wrong?Anyway, one of the breweries, which was ####### packed today, has an axe throwing court (pitch? what is this called?) attached to it. That's always seemed like a bad idea to me.
I guess you don't read my posts. Who the hell do you think is keeping track of things?!!?By the way, for whoever keeps track of these things, if it’s my turn and I don’t show up after a few minutes just skip me.

I just realized we have a clock now! We are 10 minutes into Binky's clock. It will end at 8 pm PDT tonight, and then tomorrow he will have another 44 minutes beginning at 8 am PDT.

It's time to get into the spirit. I love Halloween. My entire family except me is the embodiment of the "me on September 30/me on October 1" meme. My house is at peak spookiness and my son is running around in my wife's witch costume cackling at me right now.

You're fooling yourself!I thought this was an autonomous collective.
Big Lizzo fan. Again mistakenly thought nobody would take her..and yeah, that Tiny Desk spot was great. [/Flute solo]Ok, the smart thing to do would be to take a song that's a guilty pleasure from a super depleted segment. But I'm not smart.
11.8 (No. 497) -- Truth Hurts -- Lizzo
Juice is more my jam, but this is still pretty great as far as newer pop stuff goes. Although Lizzo, and all of you, should know that I"m decidedly not great even when I don't gotta be great. Go to your new man on the Minnesota Vikings, Lizzo. Lizzo's Tiny Desk concert was a standout.
