#50 on my Neil countdown. But it's his most popular song, so I understand why it's on this list.11.22 Neil Young - Heart of Gold (#259)
Karaoke night at the Punk cottage last night. I sang my entire list, including this one. I also tried a whole bunch of new stuff, so when I pick songs later, I can still say I tried them ... it got pretty ugly after we finished the Crown Royal and moved on to the tequila.
Neil is at his finest with this one.
Not in my top 10 Wilco songs, maybe even top 20. But it's probably their most well-known, and the album it came from absolutely needed to be represented on the list. (I would have picked Jesus, Etc. or I Am Trying to Break Your Heart).11.20 Wilco - Heavy Metal Drummer (#411)
I have a few other Happy Greens in this grouping, but they wouldn't fit well with the rest of my stuff. Someone earlier called Wilco the "Dad Band," but I like them a lot and this is one of my favorite of their songs.

This is the closest thing to a snipe I’ve experienced. Really exhilarating.12.04 Weezer - Buddy Holly (#484)
Last draftable song in this tier for me. Good song and really fun video.

Happy to welcome you to the club. This is the closest thing to a snipe I’ve experienced. Really exhilarating.
So good. I remember this because of the Rod Stewart version they used to play on MTV in the eighties as a kid.

I’m taking No Diggity - Blackstreet.
I loved this song from the very first time I heard it, instant earworm and so fun.
thanks for taking this fatguy
this is so odd for me ...when I hear these newer songs - especially hip hop, trip hop, rap ...whatever man - I know I am rock/punk/new wave curmudgeon
I totally get why RS went this way and included a whole bunch of stuff like this ...but when I think of musicianship - I think not of spoken poetry ...but
my dad said the same thing of my music growing up.
plus - as much as I love my kids ...their music sucks balls
Now this is a snipe.I’m taking No Diggity - Blackstreet.

I need to get into mongering, apparently.
We were fostering two sisters- so cute, and my first experience with true kittens (I've only had adult cats...all rescues). The alpha was adopted almost immediately and we've been hanging out with her sister for a couple months now with no takers. She's pretty amazing- super cute, very loving and playful and a coat like velvet- I was very happy to keep her with our other two cats (they've all just started to get along really nicely).
But somebody is taking her today...and now I'm feeling a bit heartbroken that she's going. :(
I remember your posting them in the cat thread. They were stunningly beautiful! I'm surprised the second one didn't get snapped up immediately.
No Diggity came out 25 years ago. And there's no way to consider it "spoken poetry", it's got really melodic singing in it.
Maybe you're thinking of a different No Diggity.
In my case it's Up on the Roof or Hitch-Hike.Humming a song from 1962

One of the Acapella groups in college had this as one of their standards... The song always connected with me.

OHHHHHHHHHHHH!
My mom's surprise was that they bought a Subaru. Not kidding. That was it. I have had a dozen or more Subarus going back to 2006(?). I get a new car every year or so, usually, though three years now, and it's always a Subaru. So I guess the excitement was that they finally traded in their 2015 Toyota Venza(?) for a Subaru?
Woot, thanks for the "surprise," mom! A kitten couldn't have been as good as that!
Where'd you go to? Anywhere of note?I'm home. Also druuuuuuuuuuuuuuunk.
Drunnnnnnnnnnnnnk.
####, it's only 4:35 pm. Freaking Seahawks game.
Thank you to landrys or anyone else. I'll catch up the spreadsheet and this and that now.
she was at the Seahawks gameWhere'd you go to? Anywhere of note?
She went to CA? I watched the game and was under the impression it was in Santa Clara, CA. The cheerleaders were San Fran and the place was a sea of red. Or maybe just SF uniforms were. It didn't look like Seattle, cos.she was at the Seahawks game
