If all they did was be the first to fuse Dylan-type lyrics with Beatles-type music, that would put them in the pantheon. But they also played a major part in the birth of country rock, and their last (non-cash-in reunion) incarnation was one of the greatest live bands of the era. Had McGuinn chosen to keep the White-Parsons-Battin version of the band together after 1972, they could have carved out a Grateful Dead-like career on the road.
Seriously. Could have used you then. The comments were a little definitive. I had been listening to Eight Miles High, checking out their history, and thought "maybe I'll stir up the FFA a bit"
Considering that I was just perusing my old topics and found "The Novelity (sic) of Women Writing About Women On Women: A Handless Salute," we can safely assume I was in my cups for that period of time. But it is a title that didn't get enough love, IMO.
