It's also one thing to think in simple terms as if starters may not get injured or guys just suck... suddenly your starter and backup and ready to go plan becomes either a hurdle to overcome or a postitional disasterI go back and forth each year between trying to balance out my team and just taking the best player available.
Also between going for ghe most available minutes and test and the best per minute guys.
I have typically went with best available based mostly on per minute stats because it feels like the right thing to do, but it kept biting me in the ###. I think the most important thing to do in the draft is draft competent minutes at PG and C when available. It feels icky drafting an inferior center who plays 20 mpg when there are decent SG/SFs left that you know are going to get 2000+ minutes. And that is the point of the draft we are at.I go back and forth each year between trying to balance out my team and just taking the best player available.

Having done this now 1.5 times, both times starting with KAT, my perspective on Centers/big men is likely skewed. I can cobble some together and not have to be as focused on decent but not as good minutes, just in more bulk.Decent SG/SF/PF minutes are always easy to come by, quality PG and C minutes go quick. There was a handful of SG/SF types that I liked better than Mills but one of them will be around when I pick again. There are only a couple centers left that I could guarantee could get 1500 minutes if they are healthy and none of them are significant net-positives in the sim.
my next choice after Harkless. Maybe the wrong choice.Ok, going for a strong per minute guy at a scarcer position.
Richaun Holmes, C Phi
Has a realistic path to decent minutes in front of him too #process.
Hopefully the finger/injury that came up over the weekend wont amount to much missed timemy next choice after Harkless. Maybe the wrong choice.
Having a center that plays 3000 minutes really helps. It has been over a half decade since a big man had that many minutes.Having done this now 1.5 times, both times starting with KAT, my perspective on Centers/big men is likely skewed. I can cobble some together and not have to be as focused on decent but not as good minutes, just in more bulk.
As to the PG component, it's likely Barton gets more play than Brogdon, taken before him... but I wanted the assists and more PG traditional role when I took Brog, having the chance to back up and hedge Teague while also being efficient enough to play SG. Building a perfect team with no elasticity for injuries or poor performance can really hamstring things.
Ugh, guess I need to check on injuries before I make my picks.Hopefully the finger/injury that came up over the weekend wont amount to much missed time
Yep. He was one of the few guys I was looking at for my last pick.Andre Roberson, OKC
He there?
Doesnt appear major, just bad timing right as the season's about to start. Was on my short listUgh, guess I need to check on injuries before I make my picks.
Yep. IMO probably the last center that you can count on for 1500 minutes.Kelly Olynyk C MIA
Is he available?
I was about to take him, but was afraid Kev would make too much fun of me.Kelly Olynyk C MIA
Is he available?
Less complaining, more picks. How am I skipped? I was tagged 45 minutes ago?
Portis is...Actually I want Bobby Portis if he is there
Portis it is.Actually I want Bobby Portis if he is there
OkayPortis is...
FINAL ANSWER? Then kindly erase previous mention of other player
it's a wrist, I think. Supposedly just a few weeks.Hopefully the finger/injury that came up over the weekend wont amount to much missed time
he should be ok. not a meniscus, otherwise he would already have been pronounced dead by the Sixers' medical staff.Ugh, guess I need to check on injuries before I make my picks.
Thanks Koya.@Spartans Rule - Tyreke Evans, F-G, primarily in the infirmary
