NFL Preseason 2018 Game Observations Thread (1 Viewer)

Yeah no crap, and they don't offer a replay until Wed afternoon.  Total garbage.  I just checked the DVR and it looks like they cut to the TEN/PIT game late too - bunch of #######s.
Weird.  I live in NJ and NFLN has had the full game for both of these games.

The Colts' 1st team finally scored a touchdown. Aided by a PI on a throw to Grant a long run by Luck for a first down when the pocket collapsed immediately then a TD to Ebron

I'm curious about this as well. Wish Doyle wasn't there. That's a similar situation on the bucs with Brate capping OJ Howard.
Meh, TB has quite literally twice as many legitimate receivers as IND. Evans, Godwin, DJax, Humphries, Brate, Howard vs. Hilton, Doyle, Ebron and who.. Grant?

Ebron is undervalued as the likely 2B in that passing game. Plus Reich knows how to utilize multiple TEs.

I played Basketball with Keenan Allen and Melvin Gordon in Irvine Ca this year a bunch of times... honestly Keenan doesnt even look like a Pro Football Player... Gordon on the other Hand ...Dear Lord..hes a Beast and a Half ... BTW Keenan is a Huge STONER
what kind of numbers did you post against them? :)

Kiko Alonso just went to the wrong sideline and everyone laughed.

Personally not sure it's a laughing matter

:CTE:

Why do teams play so conservatively in the preseason?

ETA: by that I mean why are they afraid to throw just because they are backed up by their end zone and just run and then punt? Who cares if they turn the ball over?

This has to be a joke of some sort.
Was Cook’s feature back production a joke in the 4 games he played last season?

I can see some trepidation because of the injury, but worrying about Murray making Cook less than a FF stud is honestly pretty funny to me.

Drake 5 touches almost 70 yards, guy has looked explosive..Gase with that talk about gore and him are 1 a 1 b that's a bunch of crap once he sees gore only grabs 3.8 yards at a time and Drake way more explosive

You should go back and look at Murray's production. Cook was RB9 from week 1-4, while getting most of the touches. After the team bye, Murray was RB10 from week 10-17, while time sharing with McKinnon. The Vikings will use Murray this year.

Murray converted all 10 of his carries when the Vikings needed 1 yard to score or keep a drive alive. He's a 230 pounder. He will be a good complement to Cook, just like he was to McKinnon.

Lamar Jackson keeping plays alive with his feet and doing better as a passer. If Flacco or the offense struggle, Lamar needs to play.

I agree if the Ravens are out of it, but that defense and run game will keep them in the playoff picture until the last few weeks.

I saw this a few minutes ago and I was surprised by the announcers' responses. He didn't realize he was on the wrong sideline and he was facing his team.

He might have realized it and was trying to wait until he wouldn’t get flagged. Eventually he gave up and ran back over taking the penalty.

I realize they'll use Murray...as a backup.

The raw talent difference between Cook & Murray is vast & the touches will reflect that.

This makes no sense.
It makes no sense Murray will be the backup? I don't get it, LOL. Murray IS the backup.

Cook is a stud (if healthy) & Murray will get some touches like most any backup RB.

I'm not saying Murray will never get a GL carry, but this backfield is really pretty easy to forecast (with the caveat the Vikes could possibly limit Cook's touches for a few weeks).

Knee injury to Marqise Lee looked pretty nasty last night. Jalen Ramsey blames new tackling rules for the hit.

Wondering if Dez has gotten any phone calls from a JAX area code?

BTW, I believe Cook got hurt in the 2nd quarter of the 4th game so no telling what he would've done the rest of the game. Cook could've very easily ended up in the top 2 or 3 after the 4 weeks if he hadn't gotten hurt. In week 3, Cook had over 30 touches even though Murray & McKinnon were active.

Cook is their feature back, period. Sure, Murray will have a role & get touches, but that's nothing out of the ordinary.

For those of you pumping Dalvin Cook, if you’re consistent, you probably have Drake as a top5 RB as well...

Why?

Very different players in my view.

Drake certainly does not have the track record or body of work in college that Cook had. So if your point is about the small sample size of NFL games for these players, I have a lot more games to work with when comparing them than what they have done in the NFL so far.
