I'm sweating here.

116.25 with Rivers (-20), Vincent Jackson, Thomas Jones and Steve Breaston still to play.

I think either Jackson or Breaston will rescue me this week, but this is tense.

Random aside, one of the great things about the scoring system is that it's just balanced enough that it can allow for big games to compensate when you're weak or even post a 0 at a different position in a given week. Pretty cool.

Well, I should move on this week, but next week could be difficult. Took 8 receivers and my big receiver was Calvin and he'll be on bye. Thank goodness I took Santana Moss as another big name with consistency... oh wait... damn :kicksrock:

The tool no longer tracks the cut off for the scores. Is there a place to see the cutoff score for each week?

Thanks

It looks like the scores stop if you are no longer in the contest.

I realize that when I am out, I am out, but was just curious how my scores compared to what the actual cut off was. WOuld give me some ideas for next year.

Just click on one of the teams still alive in the Contest Results (link is under Tuesday on the daily content page)

MNF done and probably done for the year at 124.5. Rivers you couldn't throw for one TD? Just one?

Ugh. What a bad week to have a ton of injuries.

Curious as to how teams are constructed. Here's my 30 man squad:

Position Players Dollars Points PPG QB 3 49 228.4 28.55 Stafford all weeks except Week 4 (Orton), Bradford hasn't scored yetRB 7 74 239.2 14.95 Flex came from RB three times. All have scored except Ward. Five have counted at least 2X.WR 9 78 326.8 13.62 All have counted. No flex from this position. Mike Wallace counted every week.TE 4 34 191 23.88 5 times flex came from here. Graham started all but one week. Scheffler hasn't scored.Flex 20 186 126.1 15.76 5 TE's, 3 RB'sK 3 6 88 11.00 Feely scored, but only in a three way tie with the other two.D 4 9 85 10.63 Broncos D hasn't scored.
Note: When players score as flex, they do NOT also count with base position for points or PPG purposes.

Note 2: PPG = Total points/starts So, RB = 239.2/16 as we have had 8 weeks * 2 starts per week = 16 starts

Daniels, Hernandez, F Davis. E Moore yet to count.Flex 18 186 120.3 15.04 6 TE's, 2 WR'sK 3 7 103 12.88 Nugent has been big. Suisham solid too. Feely hasn't counted.D 3 9 94 11.75 Bills a steal, Dallas and Ariz are the others. 6 out of 8 weeks 10+ points.
Note: When players score as flex, they do NOT also count with base position for points or PPG purposes.

Note 2: PPG = Total points/starts So, RB = 239.2/16 as we have had 8 weeks * 2 starts per week = 16 starts

Neat idea. Mine is above.

Finally used the Rams D, leaving Amendola as the only player I haven't used.

The only players used every week except their byes are Forte and Welker.

Still in it by 5 pts. Got a 0 from 4 out of 5 of my WR's but thankfully the Rams D pulled in 15 pts against the Saints

Made it through, with a bit of room to spare this week, with almost no points from any of my RBs(Forte/Barber on bye, THT/McGahee/Tolbert hurt, Texans WRs enjoying holding on run plays to limit Tate, etc.) Thanks, Steelers' passing offense! Sitting at 28 of 29 used after this week, with only Deji Karim remaining as a non-contributor(which I expect will continue).

I feel that I probably have the horses to make it to Week 11 with all my important byes, save one, now behind me. Week 11 is going to be rough though. A decent amount of bit players off and my "A" quarterback. Unless my runners start getting healthy it could cook me.

Non-team specific....Every week I become more and more convinced loading up on value TEs is the way to go in this format. Another week where my Flex play either came from the TE spot(I rostered 4) or missed out on it by less than a point. Rostering 3-4 cheap kickers seems a no brainer at this point, too. I grabbed three of the $2 dollar variety and I think I've been under 12 points at the position only once so far.

Made it, although closer than I like. How do you throw for nearly 400 yards and have no TDs? I wouldn't have thought that was even possible. I'm afraid my QB situation is going to doom me, primarily due to Rivers being a turnover machine this year.

Larger teams had advantage this week.I squeaked by with 137.95. Whew. Closest week I had.I am one of the 30 man rosters, but I don't see surviving past week 11....

So this weeks winner gives a big salute to all international footballguys:

my Schwabing RedDevils are located in Munich, Germany

Next week with a bunch of guys on bye is critical.

That is a classic example of why most of us don't mention, 'Remember to take into account the bye weeks', in the prior to lock-in date of the contest bantering... as that team's presence saved at least one person who was on the bubble this week...
I was thinking the same thing. Look back in this thread and the posts saying FBG should list the bye weeks on the pick your players page. This is why you don't want it on there. Any advantage I can get over the next guy is needed.

There can't be a worse team still alive than mine:

Ben Roethlisberger, Colt McCoy

Maurice Jones-Drew, Mark Ingram, Tim Hightower, Kendall Hunter, Jason Snelling, Deji Karim

Kenny Britt, Dez Bryant, Julio Jones, Johnny Knox, Lance Moore, Antonio Brown, Denarius Moore, Dexter McCluster

Aaron Hernandez, Zach Miller, Lance Kendricks

Matt Prater, Olindo Mare, Jay Feely

Baltimore Ravens, Houston Texans, Denver Broncos

I've been buoyed each week by completely random 20 point performances like Lance Moore this past week and Olindo Mare the week before.

I'm lowering my over/under on 18 man teams in the final 250 to 40...they are dropping fast.

Welcome back Braylon Edwards...

And who'd have thought Kendall Hunter would have contributed his whopping 2.6 points to my team... :X

Team Sneaky Bastages squeaks by one more week.

I hope I make it to the very end so I can declare on these forums "I am the 1%!!!"

As it stands now for those of us still alive, we are the 29%, which doesn't have the same feel.

So, week 8 just finished. Half the season is in the bag.

Wouldn't it be cool to have a Half-Way Redo as a side game?

Even if there wasn't any prize money at all. Just for kicks.

Keep all the original players and prices and let people submit an entry into a second database.

With 8 weeks worth of knowledge there would be obvious values, like Cam Newton.

But still, are the "obvious" picks the ones that will win it all?

What would you do if you know that 99% of other entries will own that guy?

I think it would go a long way to prove how much luck is involved.

I have no means to make this happen, but maybe someone here does?

That is impressive. I don't think anyone still alive can touch my WRs though.Dez, Ocho, Thomas, Amedola, Moore, Berrian, Royal, Moore, Massaquoi. I've used Ocho twice and even had to use Dez when he was on his bye.

I think I have to be in the running for worst team still alive.

Philip Rivers

Sam Bradford

Mark Ingram

Cedric Benson

Pierre Thomas

Deji Karim

Ben Tate

Derrick Ward

Marion Barber

Calvin Johnson

Roddy White

Vincent Jackson

Mike Sims-Walker

Jordan Shipley

Antonio Brown

Dustin Keller

Brent Celek

Lance Kendricks

Rob Bironas

Mike Nugent

Pittsburgh Steelers

Oakland Raiders

Made cut week 3 by 1.4

Made cut week 4 by 1.35

Made cut week 6 by .65

Made cut week 8 by 4.35

Borrowed time....

I'm somewhat surprised to still be alive and kicking with my entry right now.

First time tackling the subscriber contest. My initial goal was to make it to the halfway point so I've accomplished that.

Only one close call with the cutoff line back in Week 4. Been well ahead the rest of the way.

Hoping Bradford is fully healthy for the cake matchup against the Cardinals this weekend so I'll have some QB coverage for Stafford's bye.

I am no statistician, but with 5 weeks of elimination left, only 2 of them have bye weeks involved. One-third of the teams currently have 18 or 19 man rosters.I am a big roster guy. I have always gone with the maximum. This year I went with 28 (and I am in good company). But I would have to think that there is now a high likelihood that a 18 or 19 could win this thing. Am I wrong?

Yes. Small rosters are decimated not only by bye weeks but by injuries. By the time the final 250 rolls around, 18-19 man rosters will be down to less than 20% of the pool, probably more like 10-15%. And those will be less likely to score points in the finals. I'd put the probability of 18-19 man roster winning it all between 5-10%.
