This would be a great week for Pierre to score a couple touchdowns with about 80 yds, considering my other RB's are:Felix JonesBeanie WellsWillis McGaheeTim HightowerI can only hope to scrape by this week and then hope some of the other guys get healthy quickly.Glad I only have 3 guys on bye this week with a 26 man roster (Matt Ryan, Harry Douglas, and Danarius Moore).
With Ingram confirmed OUT this weekend you might get your wish....or Sproles will get the glory.
Yea, unless Ivory gets all the goal line carries.

Bernard Scott may save my bacon this week with the following squad:

[*]Sjax (good player on sucky team with backup QB)

[*]Wells (injured)

[*]Bush (sucks)

[*]Scott (Hope)

[*]Barber (bye)

dollars spent on scorers by week (what does this tell me, I see other people post it):

$154, $134, $157, $132, $177, $157, $110

well my RB's are no good, but I am the only person to choose:

[*]Brady (337 alive)

[*]Welker (38 for top 2)

[*]Calvin Johnson (3 for top 3 | 61 for CJ + Brady)

[*]Hernandez (1 for all 4)

2 teams have Brady+Starks+CJ

2 teams have Brady+Starks+Welker

WOW - only 5 teams in total picked: Welker + CJ + Jordy Nelson - and we're all still alive, lol.

What is tells me is that you probably have a smaller roster, maybe 18-20 players :) But that's just a guess on my part.I think it's another way for us to get our :nerd: on in this thread.

On a different tangent, I'm curious what players have contributed the most to scoring in this contest - that is who has had the most impact.

For example if 105 entries used Marion Barber in a week where he got 10 points, then he would have an impact of 1050 on the contest. Some guys when score a ton of points - but if nobody has 'em they have no impact on the contest. Other guys may not score as much, but if they count for a lot of team, they are more impactful.

I am one of 12 teams still alive with both Jamaal Charles and Jerome Harrison. I wonder how long my horrible RB corps will take me.
I guarantee your RBs are still better than mine :bag:
My RBs are:Jamaal Charles - outFelix Jones - out Reggie Bush - sucks Jerome Harrison - out Montario Hardesty - Hillis back this week Deji Karim - no play time Ben Tate - no play time
Mine:Felix Jones - out and stinksTim Hightower - outPierre Thomas - stinksThomas Jones - stinksRoy Helu - stinksCadillac Williams - stinksMarion Barber - stinksTaiwan Jones - stinks

QG -

I have 21 players (40.31% survival rate) but for some reason put Brandon Tate on my team :bag:

and Buehler (DAL-PK) has been injured all season (but is finally healthy!) so it plays like a 19 player team (35.46% survival rate). Incidentally after looking up each player on my team the two players that have had the lowest survival rate (on my team) were: Brandon Tate (27.74%) and Buehler (29.34%)

Yeah you would need someone with access to the DB to figure that out.

Out of the two guys on my team (and as you know there are a ton of other variables)

Brady has scored 199.15 points | 337 entries still have him alive (67k points)

Calvin Johnson has scored 168.9 points | 647 entries still have him alive (109k points)

I bet Calvin Johnson is probably pretty high up there.

I just looked up Aaron Rodgers, he is still alive on 459 teams, using the same fuzzy logic above he would have to have scored 238.08 points or more so far this season (which I actually think he has) so maybe he is at the top of your list?

I have just been going by top scorers, let me look at Stafford (most popular pick in the contest).

1830 still alive -- I think I see where this is going ;)

he may have scored about 184.5 this season (just using my yahoo league total)

...yep total of 337k points accrued for live entrants, that is going to be tough to beat.

week 9 should be interesting, I think one of the higher survival duos is:

Stafford + Calvin Johnson

Survival rate for teams with these players: 65.12 percent

Total teams with these players 473

Still Alive 308

But Stafford wasn't used every week for those 1830 entrants, so his total will be less ;) -QG

So how's your survival rate of your players? and do you see any surprises?

Here's my team in order of highest survival percentage:

[*]59.74% - Calvin Johnson

[*]47.27% - Denarius Moore

[*]47.15% - Olindo Mare

[*]45.51% - Owen Daniels

[*]44.40% - Chris Wells

[*]44.38% - Phil Dawson

[*]44.10% - Marion Barber

[*]42.96% - Buffalo Bills Defense

[*]41.92% - Colt McCoy

[*]41.65% - Houston Texans Defense

[*]40.76% - Plaxico Burress

[*]40.25% - Jay Feely

[*]39.48% - Dexter McCluster

[*]39.24% - Arizona Cardinals Defense

[*]39.14% - Lance Kendricks

[*]36.11% - Santana Moss

[*]35.90% - Stephen Jackson

[*]34.79% - Reggie Bush

[*]34.59% - Earl Bennett

[*]33.73% - Bernard Scott

[*]32.30% - Vincent Jackson

[*]32.14% - Mike Sims-Walker

[*]31.91% - Tom Brady

[*]22.68% - Kevin Boss

Breaking it down. Mean is 39.67% with a standard deviation of 7.25%, so the average range for survival for 68% of the players is 32.42% - 46.92%. Based on the first deviation, one could say folks that bought Tom Brady, MSW, Vjax, and Kevin Boss may have overspent, whereas Mare, Moore and CJ have been well worth the investment. Going to the second deviation of 95%, the range is 25.17% - 54.17%. Based on this I would say Kevin Boss has been a waste of cash (which is sad as I had high hopes for him) and Calvin Johnson has been well worth the $31.

Shocked to see that Brady has such a low survival rate in the contest. Maybe more junk entries had him? Or maybe he just hasn't been performing as well as we all thought he was. I thought Brady would be higher.

Brady has had a bye.Calvin hasn't :)

Daniel Thomas didn't make the trip to NY. Bush owners might actually get a postable score this week. By postable I mean more points that Del Karim or Derrick Ward.

:clap:Rolling with Bush, Hardesty, Tate and an injured Wells this week so I hope Bush gets some easy points.

Gonna need a nice, low cut line this week. Just realized that with Tolbert likely out I'll be rolling with Ike Redman, Karim and Tate as my only runners. :football:That Steelers/Pats game needs to turn into a shootout in the worst way for me this go 'round. I actually feel pretty confident that'll happen. *fingers crossed*

Who are the best value plays up to this point?
Nuge and the Niners D have performed pretty well for the $2/4 bucks it required to roster them.

Looking at the 15 top scoring WR's it looks like [points per dollar paid]1) Jordy Nelson ($7) [13.50]2) Wes Welker ($23) [7.28]3) Steve Smith ($19) [7.23]Looking at the 15 top scoring RB's it looks like [points per dollar paid - these will be off a little, using my league's stats at 1pt per reception]1) Darren Sproles ($11) [12.44]2) Fred Jackson ($21) [7.05]3) Mike Tolbert ($15) [6.36]62.5% suvival rate for the 64 teams (40 alive) that picked Jordy Nelson + Wes Welker (nobody picked all 3)57.1% suvival rate for the 7 teams (4 alive) that picked Darren Sproles + Fred Jackson (nobody picked all 3)62.1% survival rate for the 29 teams (18 alive) that picked Jordy Nelson + Darren Sproles

I was worried about my RB this week, but have scores from Beanie and Pierre. Now the rest of my team needs to step up.

73.6, but I have Rivers, Dallas D, and Henery to go and every point they score adds to my total. I also have Celek (-9.9 or -12.0) and Bowe (-9.9) left. Crabtree and Wallace playing. Wallace is my 9.9.

NE struggling has to be helping, but I think I should not ask for whom the bell tolls this week.

85.6 with Rivers (-0), Shady McCoy (-0), Avant (-0), Austin (-0), Eagles D (-6) and Celek to go. Whatever Rivers and McCoy gets will stick, plus I'll get the best two scores from Avant/Celek/Austin. I'm going to guess I'll probably have 135-145 or so.

only picking 1 defense is really costing me in this contest, so much for the vaunted Steelers #1 Defense.

Sitting at 115.4 and done.
