<--- one of the 14 with a 26 man roster that lost Charles. Like the above poster said, It'd be a lot more detrimental to an 18 player roster IMO.

Shipley out for the year now as well. Only $4 but still was on 4.6% of rosters. We are in week 2 and already a great deal of injuries, it is hard to argue the 18 man roster this year!

Shipley Breakdown by Roster:

A few interesting stats regarding Injuries so far this year.

Taking into account those players who are either on IR, released, or out for a unknown amount of time. These players include T Moeaki, T.Owens, P.Manning, J.Carlson, D.Avery, D.Garrard, J.Shipley, J.Charles, Ryan Williams, Kaeding and Housh (let me know if I missed anyone).

Here is roster break down removing these players:

Ooh, that's gonna leave a mark...
Shocked that he was on that many rosters to begin with.
Really? He was on my do not draft list with all of the Haley crap in the preseason.
So you didn't want him...yet you're shocked that he didn't think many teams would want him?

In looking at Charles owners, I've run into two legit teams that are almost assured to be bounced this week.

110273 - 89.4 with Jacobs, Nicks & Tynes to go

109626 - done with 104.35

:bag: Nevermind. My reading comprehension was down for a bit there. I honestly don't know what I thought I read.

With McCluster, think we have our first cheapo bargain. Might be a nice flex all year in this thing.
1606 owners of McCluster for $2 just may have a nice WR3/FLEX performer on their hands.

Count of tonight's players:

Sam Bradford $17 19.7

Eli Manning $19 1.8

Steven Jackson $25 13.8

Brandon Jacobs $16 6.0

Ahmad Bradshaw $25 2.9

Cadillac Williams $ 3 2.4

Week 5 is looking bad for me. I was counting on Charles to carry my RB scores that week due to bye week issues. Now, I only have Jerome Harrison and Ben Tate at RB that week.

202.55 never cracked 200 last year.I am a believer in the larger rosters now.Who says you can't teach an old dog new tricks.

TE Hernandez out possibly 4-6 weeks I wonder how many teams will be with out a tightend week 5.
I think most teams have more than 1 TE. It's common to have 3 with this scoring.
His point is that teams might have taken Hernandez (week 7 bye) and other TE(s) who are on bye week 5, thinking Hernandez would be playing in week 5.To answer the question, there are 623 teams who have Hernandez and have all their other TEs on bye week 5.

Ah, I see. I had so many players on bye week 5 I couldn't afford to just throw Hernandez out there.

I have 2 week 5 bye TEs along with Hernandez. Hopefully Owen Daniels can stay healthy though an dhold things down that week.

There are mixed reports on Hernandez ranging from 1-2 weeks and 5-6. Probably more concise news later this week (Thurs). I'm hoping sooner rather than later as he has been a major contributor to my team. I wonder after week 2 results which players were the most cost efficient (ie highest FP/$ spent) at their respective position? My guess Bent Tate, Evan Moore, and Denarius Moore are up there. Then I wonder how many teams have these most cost efficient players.

I've been to busy to stay on top of this thread this year, but I'm in again and not much liking how big my early week scores are! I'd rather save the blow ups for later in the year!

Thanks to all of you who have taken over the DB admin duties, I don't have time to work much on FF anymore. Hopefully I can make another strong run in the contest again, and here's to rolling with big rosters!

Much better this week.

I was 159 last week, and am at 225 with Bradford -7, and Mike Sims-Walker still playing).

I feel comfortable this week, but know I am probably back in trouble next week. lol

I'm down to 1 TE with Hernandez out, and I already felt like I should have bought 3. At any rate I think I'm still solid going forward scoring ~160 in a week where none of my players really went bonkers.

Rivers 28.9

Fitz 26.3

Jordy 15.4

Brown 10.8

Olsen 4.9

152.4...think I'll make it, hope I make it.

Last week was close to the same...not feeling great right now but hoping I can make it into the bye weeks where some all star teams will take an early exit.

So far so good .... early days mean nothing in this contest though ...

:nerd: Optimization Challenge for anyone who wants to take a crack at this:

What is the smallest number of rosters you can find that, when combined, contain every player available in the contest?

Basically I want to run a quick check on my player stats here by comparing my results with the actual results posted on the website. So I want to find out how many points each player in the contest scored, according to the results posted on the Footballguys site. Of course, I want this process to be as efficient as possible, i.e. I want the smallest collection of entry numbers that is sufficient to get every player in the contest. I'm running something on my db right now to come up with an answer, but I'm certain it won't be the optimal solution.

I'm not counting on anyone to do this for me - I'm guessing by the time anyone responds to this (if anyone does) I'll already have the results I need. But I think it's an interesting nerd-type question so I figured I'd throw it out there to anyone who likes that sort of challenge.

I'll post my result when I have it. Anyone who can beat it gets a virtual high-five. :hifive:

7?

As in Seven degrees of Kevin Bacon Matt Stafford

I got 40. I'm sure it can be improved upon, though. There are 358* players in this contest and a maximum roster size of 30, so the lower bound for the number of sufficient rosters is 12.

* - There are really 357 players, but I have two different records for Dexter McCluster because a couple of rosters have him counting as an RB and the rest have him as a WR. Since scoring differs for RBs and WRs I would want to verify both "Dexter McCluster (RB)" and "Dexter McCluster (WR)".

207.50 week 1, 213.80 week 2. Having high weekly scores mean jack, right? Making the cut is all that matters?

Just like they say about the NCAA Basketball Tourney, "Survive and advance!"Let's get into those bye weeks.

Right. Until the last 3 weeks when points are cumulative (for those who make it that far).Still, it's a comforting indicator that you have a good roster.
