**Official 2014 MLB Regular Season-All over but the shouting (3 Viewers)

Mike Morse has played 16 innings in LF without a fly ball hit in his direction. After he was lifted tonight, the first batter hit a line drive at his defensive replacement.

is this limiting his innings a short term thing or are we looking at all year?

@masnKolko: Woah. RT @AnthonyDiComo: #Mets coaching staff has been told that Nats scratched Jordan Zimmermann and will pitch Tanner Roark today.

He'll be lifted routinely for a real outfielder. He won't have a lot of 5 PA games.

Very interesting play in the Cubs-Pirates games where the supposedly unchallengeable neighborhoodplay was challenged and overturned.

I don't like expanded replay, but I guess its here to stay. I'm ok with it on boundary calls
It was not viewed as a neighborhood play. The throw prevented the shortstop from staying on the bag. It will be interesting to see further challenges and where that line is drawn.

Yes but in the past, and based on how it was called on the field( he was out but clearly away from the bag), thats the classic definition of the neighborhood play. Its such a fine line on that call and frankly its stupid, and if you watched the Harold Reynolds breakdown he had a GREAT point. Rizzo had been hit twice, he was on 1st coming to second and he was clearly out for blood and you saw him come in like a freight train and deliberately slide to take out the guy.

While were on the subject, why are catchers being protected while its still hard nosed baseball to "take out" the double play? Jim Ganter's career, to name one, ended on that kind of play.

And I'm in the category of that being acceptable risk, catcher and 2nd base collisions are fine with me. But if one goes you would figure both should go and that neighborhood play would be less of an issue

Smoak went deep... I signed him in all my leagues... that should be the end of his production...

Cant' tell if the M's look great or the Halos look like crap on crap. But Brad Miller looks sick, Ackley had nice Ab's and maybe Smoak is gonna Chris Davis out??? Can we dream???

Decided to give Fanduel a whirl here this season. If anyone else is doing this, maybe I'll start up a thread on it.

Since I just started, it's going to take some getting used to, but I think I can at least make my money back this year :oldunsure:

Doing Draftkings with the same experiment. So far, 2 losing days and one winning day. Down overall. WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!

I'd love to jump in on this, but the randomness of one day in baseball scares the crap out of me. Same reason I've never gambled on teh bases.

But there's this guy named Chris Prince from Detroit who's won over $539,638

Dude looks like a schmuck. If he can do that, I figure we're all good for seven figures with guys like MAC_32 giving streamer advice around here.

 Fire up the thread, I'll :subscribe: and embarrass myself with my lack of knowledge, especially the NL.

Is there any site that has daily splits on batters vs pitchers? I used to use CBS fantasy site but we're not there anymore.

I'm having a hard time keeping up with all these Billy Hamilton steals. What's he on pace for now?
At some point those third strikes are gonna start getting away from catchers, and he'll be down the line to first in like 3.6, and then who will be laughing?
Willy Tavares didn't steal his first base until Apr 12 the year that he predicted he'd steal 100.
I bet he at least reached base a couple times before that, though.

Cubs had five infielders last night, why wouldn't teams just take an outfielder and put him behind the catcher?

Baseball rules allow only one player completely in foul territory.

Here is what I'm rolling with in the late games:

P Ivan Nova
NYY @ HOU
C Derek Norris
OAK v SEA
1B Mike Napoli
BOS @ BAL
2B Ben Zobrist
TAM v TOR
3B Evan Longoria
TAM v TOR
SS Brad Miller
SEA @ OAK
OF Jose Bautista
TOR @ TAM
OF Carlos Beltran
NYY @ HOU
OF Yoenis Cespedes

will start a thread tomorrow - only possible swap would be Brad Miller

My early game is still going- will update in a bit.

Chris Colabello with six RBI today, tying my career best. I think more people were there when I did it, though.
His OPS is like 1.900 now.
I've actually met his dad a few times. He's a cool story ... the kid played Div. 2 in college, literally battled his way through the independent leagues and wasn't even in an MLB organization until two years ago. Then he played for Italy in the WBC and was IL Player of the Year last year.

It looked like Matt Adams just pushed (albeit very lightly) a Reds fan for catching a ball that was in the stands.

I'll tell you what doesn't work on daily leagues: picking a team during your morning dump and having the game rained out that afternoon.

HAMILTON ON BASE, REPEAT BILLY HAMILTON HAS DRAWN A WALK
Brandon Phillips felt it best to foul off the first three pitches, preventing Hamilton from stealing, then swinging and missing on pitch 5 at a ball well out of the zone. Well played, Brandon. Well played.

I  at the headline I saw elsewhere that said he shoved a fan. I think the writer of that article doesn't know what a shove is.

I thought "shoved" was a little hyperbolic myself, but I figured I was just being a homer.
