I fully admit to being a newb to this sport but why are you so positive on the US? I thought they were outplayed for most of the first game and they also are going to be missing their key offensive player. So when the US beats Portugal, is it:
1. Thrilla in Brazilla
2. Madhouse in Manaus
This game will play out differently than Ghana, where Ghana were desperate to get back into the game, and kept the US pinned back. I think you will see a better flow to this game, and with a week to prepare for a game without Jozy, I think we'll be fine.I fully admit to being a newb to this sport but why are you so positive on the US? We don't know yet whether Dempsey is out (Jozy is important but is not the key player especially if they change the formation a bit). If Dempsey is out too then yeah, it is a mess.I fully admit to being a newb to this sport but why are you so positive on the US? Adidas > NikeAdidas?COME ON YOU THREE LINES
Highly unlikely, imoBe forewarned:
Thinking of Uruguay ML (+290) and Uruguay +1/2 (-111) for the upcoming game. Any thoughts?
Oh, sure. Not everyone who watches is going to become a fan. But some of them will.I'm really enjoying this World Cup. It's been fun. And my friend who is a die hard soccer fan just said the same thing. But I don't agree entirely. I get excited for Curling in the Olympics, but I would never watch it any other time. I don't think I'll ever watch a soccer match outside of the World Cup. Just not my cup of tea. Don't get me wrong. Like I said, I'm enjoying the crap out of it. But next month, soccer will be done for me until 2018.What a fun game... this World Cup is winning some new fans for sure. Start to finish it's been great so far.
Also, if you don't stop the play so your player can get treatment why should I stop it? Like Man United's approach (IIRC) -- just tell them before the game "we're not stopping play and you shouldn't either."
Rob Green is taking off his bibSo glad everyone's brought their best goalkeepers.
Big fan.Macca's a bigger homer than the guys doing the Mexico games
Don't get out of the backwoods much, do you?Pretty cool that all 5 black guys that live in England seem to have made their soccer team.
Should have been. Uruguay got away with that one.Not sure how that wasn't a red there for the hand ball
Looked intentional for sure on the replay. Rooney couldn't capitalize on the free kick though.Should have been. Uruguay got away with that one.Not sure how that wasn't a red there for the hand ball
Just wait until he hears them speak.Don't get out of the backwoods much, do you?Pretty cool that all 5 black guys that live in England seem to have made their soccer team.
Relax. It's a joke about England only having about 1.5% of their population being black. And also about how malleable nationalities become in international sports.Just wait until he hears them speak.Don't get out of the backwoods much, do you?Pretty cool that all 5 black guys that live in England seem to have made their soccer team.

True, but Italy didn't seem to be having the same issues. If it's an issue of fitness, it may be fixed by not playing in the rainforest this time.I like England. They looked a lot better in the first round and it was against stiffer competition. My only major concern for England is why the team seemed to fall apart in the second half. Was it mental, that can be fixed. It is an issue of fitness, it's too late to improve.Be forewarned:

the Indian/Pakistani population in England is nearly twice as large as the African/Caribbean but the best footballer to come out of it has been Parminder Nagrawa in Bend It Like BeckhamPlus a bunch of arabs...could push that over 5%...it's 3.5%Relax. Yep.Looks like the fix is in for Uruguay.
Fewer Twinkies and more jump rope?Rooney is like 5 ft 9. Don't see how he could have done better.
