OFFICIAL 2017 Training Camp & Preseason: News & Tidbits Thread (1 Viewer)

WR Jaydon Mickens Has Chance at Special Teams/Deep Offensive Role

"Wide receiver Jaydon Mickens has quietly put together a nice training camp. The speedy wide receiver has been a factor both on special teams and on the offensive side of the football, and during one of the team’s seven-on-seven sessions, he connected with quarterback EJ Manuel for a good-looking touchdown."

Loved him coming out as a rookie. He went undrafted but was absolutely lightning on the field in college and was very reminiscent of the highlights of RB Tarik Cohen.

"We think he’s having a real good camp. As we went back and reviewed what he did last year when he got the ball, he did some nice things with the ball in his hands. We’re excited for DeAndré to continue to grow.” - HC Jack Del Rio on RB DeAndre Washington

NJ Advance Media's Connor Hughes reports Austin Seferian-Jenkins "has dominated" at Jets camp.

Seferian-Jenkins was widely considered the best offensive player on the team in spring practices, and that has carried over into training camp with the pads on. He's been winning all of his one-on-ones and looks like a "legitimate offensive weapon" for a Jets squad that needs them. Though suspended for the first two games, ASJ has a real chance to lead this offense in targets the final 14 weeks. Aug 9 - 9:24 AM

Martavis Bryant has been cleared for PRESEASON activities including practice, games, etc per Ian Rapaport - still not FULLY cleared for regular season

Jay Gruden Praises RB Rob Kelley

"Gruden praised Kelley at the close of camp, saying he sees a jump in confidence and knowledge as the Tulane product enters Year 2. “He’s got great vision and a very low center of gravity. He’s hard to bring down with the first guy. I haven’t really seen the first guy bring him down very often, which is good. I like where he’s at.”
